Unfortunately, the world is a busy place, and fanfiction does not always feature most prominently in my life, though I miss it dearly. I have also decided to employ the policy of no works-in-progress after a rather discouraging experience with The Fall of Imladris. But never fear! I still have some tricks up my sleeve. Here is a quick "preview" of the works to come: Faith of Our Fathers: It is Numenor, the Second Age. Amandil has recently been banished to Romenna, along with the majority of the Faithful. A few remain behind in secret to act as spies in Armenelos and the courts of the King in the hopes of keeping their cause alive and their leader informed. But the King's Men are rapidly gaining power and influence under the watchful eye of the Chief Councilor to Ar-Pharazon, and the spies' numbers are dwindling at an alarming pace. Disturbing news comes of the Councilor's latest policies, fresh accounts of treason are unearthed, and the nation falls further and further into darkness. Arveldis, part spy and part scribe in the House of the King, can only watch in silent anxiety and pass along her dark reports to Romenna. But she has unwittingly caught the Councilor's eye, and it may soon be too late both for one of the last Faithful spies and Numenor itself. Oh Captain, My Captain: The world has changed. The War of Wrath is over, leaving the land transformed and unrecognizable. Still fresh out of boyhood, Elrond finds himself on the western shore, cut away from every tie he has ever known and left only with a single purpose: to find the Noldorin King, Gil-galad, and though he has never paid homage to the strange Kings of the North, he obeys. And so, by the mercies of a cold and sharp-tongued sea-captain, he barters passage to Lindon, where he begins his new life. In Lindon, Elrond enters the service of the King, and as he grows, finds himself assailed with fresh challenges: a new mentor, a King to whom he owes his allegiance, life in the court, power and authority he never wanted, and ultimately the question of his own moral compass. MUSE: Canon, Incorporated has a problem. Canon itself, the great force that dictates their universe, is finally fed up with worldly interferences. |
