Michael is defeated and it looks like the Winchesters can finally start settling down again. But of course it never goes like that. Not when they find out that Cas has a sword hanging over his head and Jack is determined to find a way to save him at any cost—even if it means seeking the help of other enemies to do it.

Normal life AU-this time for Dean. After having his second heart attack, Dean convinces his father to move in with him and his wife Amanda. But when John moves in, his strict, no-nonsense personality clashes with the very artistic and free spirited Chloe, Amanda's seventeen-year-old daughter.

AU for 4x16 "On the Head of a Pin" Alastair wasn't supposed to be able to get out of that devil's trap. He wasn't supposed to be able to chain Castiel up when the angel stepped between Dean and the demon. Dean wasn't supposed to break the First Seal and yet it seems like nothing is going the way it should today.

Castiel is on the run from Naomi when he gets a call from Sam: Dean has gone missing on a hunting trip. With Castiel wanted by Heaven and Sam ailing from the Trials, it's all they can do to keep going, but they'll find Dean if it's the last thing they do because for family, they'll risk everything, even life itself.

The older boy is sick, coughing in a way that makes Bobby cringe and the toddler has his fist wrapped in his brother's shirt. And even though there is snow on the ground, neither one is wearing shoes. Bobby has never seen a sorrier sight. Pre-series.

Missing Scene/Tag for 14X10 "Nihilism." Sam lifts a hand, gestures to Dean as a chill runs through him. He can't say it. Can't say Michael's still in there, and acknowledge that this is the plan. Some of the other American hunters still work for the British Men of Letters on occasion and when they find the Winchester's nephillim an easy target, they take that opportunity. Now it's up to Sam, Dean and Castiel to find Jack and bring him home.

Sam was off at college, living it up, enjoying a regular life. Dean was suffering, desperately trying to get used to living without his brother, but feeling lost and alone. He can't take it anymore. Dean Winchester is going to commit suicide.

Sam's so damn happy to see Dean, he doesn't immediately recognize everything that's different about the man. Things that should have been as obvious as the weight, like the wounded, haunted look in his eyes, or the guilt in his voice when he says "Cas didn't make it." Or the hollowness in the humor he tries to wrap around "time flies when you're running for your life." 8X01-8X03.

After what seems to be an open and shut hunt, Dean comes down with what he assumes is a case of food poisoning, but soon realizes that it may be something much more sinister. S12 case fic sick/hurt Dean

It's been several months since Sam and Meg rescued Dean and Cas from Purgatory and Meg is trying to make a new life for herself with TFW. But with Abbadon on the rise, all of them are back at war, with scars that they will all have to overcome before they'll have a chance of winning.

Not wanting to start a fight with Sam, John fibs to him and tells him that he tried to find someone else to take his hunt but no one was available. When Dean confronts him about the lie, John finds out the real reason Sam wanted him to stay behind. Angry Dean, very guilty John.

Tag for 14X02 "Gods and Monsters." They'd readied themselves to face, fight, and subdue Michael, by any means necessary. They hadn't prepared to find Dean in Duluth.

"It was how many times I let you down." Takes place after the famous church scene in Sacrifice (8x23) but before Dean calls Gadreel (9x1). Dean wonders why Sam values himself so little, then realizes that he may be the core of the problem.

Missing Scene for 10X14 "The Executioner's Song." The weight of the demon-killing knife in the pocket of his jacket suddenly feels like enough to bring him to the ground. It'll be Dean that comes out. Sam has to believe that. It will be DEAN. Just Dean, in one very human piece.
