So I guess I'll tell you a bit about myself and by that I mean a list of shows, games, characters, and quotes I like. You'll have to figure out what I'm like from that.

Fanfiction things that kinda piss me off

Girl or boy falls in love with their rapist - Honestly I find this absolutely awful. I think it trivializes what actual victims of rape have experienced. It's a horrible thing not something that leads to true love.

Characters randomly start singing - Unless you're writing a Glee fic, some kind of musical fic, or someone summons Sweet from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, this should not happen. Btw this does not mean songfics, those are nice. This is when a characters sings in order to show off how badass he/she is or how angsty they're feeling. It does not fit. I've seen this in Naruto fics! He's a ninja not a rockstar. Also fics where characters join a band after some horrible betrayal or something despite never having shown one iota of musical talent before. Those suck. A lot.

Fics that make parents/guardians abusive when they were nothing like that in canon - It pisses me off when people twist a character into a former shadow of what they're really like just to make you sympathize with the main character. Having your character experience abuse does not automatically make the deep and interesting. Now I can accept this in instances like the Dursleys in Harry Potter who obviously had no love for Harry, and therefore abuse is actually plausible. I hate it when people make perfectly nice characters like Charlie from Twilight (who is perhaps one of the most sympathetic characters in Twilight as he has to deal with Bella and all her selfish drama) into some awful criminal who beats/rapes his or her children. It's just not believable and does not make a good story. Stop doing it.

Naruto fics where Sasuke keeps on saying he deserves power because he's an Uchiha - This doesn't really happen in canon. To be honest he trains his ass off. Yes, he has the Sharingan which allows him to copy moves and whatnot, but he still has to work at it. It took him awhile to learn to use Lee's speed to fight Gaara for example. And to those who say he was overpowered after the time skip, he was training with Orochimaru. I don't think he'd be a lax teacher. He'd want Sasuke to kick as much ass as possible in order to have a powerful body for himself. I'll admit I've read stories with Sasuke bashing (it's sometimes difficult to find a badass Naruto fic without it), but I'd rather read a good story where Sasuke is an interesting character and has personality and actual flaws, rather than him just constantly thinking "I'm an Uchiha! Give me your moves! I deserve it!"

Naruto fics where Naruto gains a huge amount of power in the Forest of Death and is then able to defeat Orochimaru without any trouble - Orochimaru is a sannin, in other words he's pretty strong. Naruto may gain a ton of power, but Orochimaru still has like 50 years of experience on him. He's not going to be a walk in the park to defeat. This also goes for other villains in Naruto and Harry Potter and Voldemort too. I want my heroes to work at defeating the villains of the story.

Ridiculously bad grammar and spelling - Now I'm ok with a few mistakes here and there. Nobody is perfect. It's when there's mistakes every other sentence that gets me pissed off. If you haven't run it through spell check or had someone read over it or something like that, don't publish it. It's just painful to read and can often ruin a story that has a lot of potential to be really good. And super huge paragraphs are also pretty awful.

Mary Sues - This is an obvious one.
