Hehe...I've recently done a reread and yes. Rukia safe and happy enough to make her own choices whether to stay or go back. That's what Ichigo wanted. Just as Orihime had known.

I love the idea of Ichigo being this punk knight riding a steed as black, white, and wild as Shirosaki. Besides, Ichigo doesn't need a starry noble. He's got his own princess back home. He doesn't need romance either because she accepts him without needing romance.

Thank you so much for writing this and for bringing to life ever thought I had watching/reading that arc. Honestly to me, Renji's push to save Rukia even though that would mean betrayal seems harder to do than Ichigo's bash-smash-save method.

Beautiful writing. Ichigo was kept wonderfully in in character, it's not easy to write things without being overly mushy or sentimental yet still being able to convey that sense of loyalty and friendship Ichigo obviously has for Rukia.

This was a really, really enjoyable read. It flows so smoothly through the events of the Soul Society art, and you have a very clear and clean style. The characterization is strong and that's definitely the voice of Ichigo seeping through. I wouldn't have been surprised if this came from the desk of Kubo-sensei himself.

I've always wondered how to explain why Ichigo acted the way he did - initially ignoring her on the bridge incident, throwing her to Renji on the hill, moving on back in the real world - and this is the best explanation I've read so far.

Rather than saying he's to caught up in his emotions / trying to control his emotions that he had to ignore her, etc. Though as much as I like IchixRuki, this explanation just doesn't seem to fit in that well even if it would suffice for a fic.
