Long ago, in the early decades of the Twenty-First Century, a girl stumbled onto a happy place on the 'net. In this haven, all the limits that had plagued her favorite books, anime, movies, and television shows could be cast off, and a sea of brilliant minds was free to give the fictional worlds and characters their due exploration. The girl had always been reluctant to share the fruits of her own imagination, uncertain of their quality and fearful of their reception. Tentatively, she submitted a few short works, and the reviewers, who were mostly empathetic, were also kind.

When the years of her studies had ended, however, she found herself besieged by other priorities. Down came the crush of student loan repayments, and her fragile focus was inundated by the Real World. Stories, alas, fell by the wayside for a time.

Now, though, she has rediscovered her fandoms, and the gears of her brain, greased by the good work of other creatives, prepare to turn again. Is she ready?
