Author has written 2 stories for Fate/stay night, Harry Potter, Akame ga Kiru/アカメが斬る, and Fairy Tail. Well, well after a long time of merely reading fanfictions anonymously have I finally decided to create a account upon this site. I never bothered previously since I couldn't ever start writing even with the hundred of dozens of ideas that run through my head, I could never properly detail and write them out and end up throwing them into the back of my mind. And finally after a few years have I, taking inspiration from a fellow author and friend on this site to finally begin to craft stories and tales within the realm of fanfiction. Just a warning, this shall be a place for me to express my creativity and imagination and as such, the protagonists of my stories could easily get overpowered and unbeatable without myself ever realizing it. Some Annoying Things In Fanfiction First and foremost, HAREMS A prevailing trend throughout many many fanfictions is that the main character would become extremely powerful, the leader of a great empire or a pratically worshipped powerhouse. And in many of these scenarios, the character will always somehow gain an enormous harem filled with women that are all somehow deeply in love with the protagonist. Now this is a ridiculous concept to me, its nice to dream of having a large harem of beautiful women, but do you really have write the characters of those woman into some lovesick puppies? I mean, look at stories such as Naruto and the League by hell is fun21, the entire league of female champions fell in love with Naruto without having even once met him and offered themselves to him at the point of time that do meet. This is something I cannot understand and find incredibly annoying. I can accept harems below 5 people and the fact that unless they constanly get into life threatening situations together they need to spend a fair amount of time together. Otherwise... I just can't bring myself to like those. Secondly, OCs I can accept if you want to throw a regular Joe into a fantasy world and write the situation that happens then, but why on earth do they automatically get some form of game breaking ability that would allow them to dominate the entire world they have been thrown into? Also, can some authors come up with better explanations than suddenly getting sucked into portals that opened in front of them for no good reason? A second scenario involving OCs would having an OC that is drastically more powerful that the protagonist to the point where its merely ridiculous. I mean, with stuff like a betrayed Shinigami that swears vengeance on the Sereitei becoming more powerful than even Aizen and Ichigo? A random person that has a sad past far surpassing the protagonist who at that point has defeated the most powerful enemy in the realm? I think you can get the point. Finally, BALANCE A commonly occuring scenario within crossover stories is that the authors don't properly consider the differences between the two realms they are putting together and inevitably end up completely messing up the lore and power levels of the characters. One example would be a Fate/Stay Night and Harry Potter crossover, Harry Potter and the Counter Guardian. In this story, the Death Eaters are actually capable to some extent fighting against Archer(Emiya Shirou) and Voldemort's Avada Kedavra was capable of completly destroying all seven layers of Rho Aias without slowing in its movement... forgive me if I'm mistaken, but a single petal is equal to a fortress in its defense and I have many doubts that Avada Kedavra is capable of breaking through seven fortress at once. |
