![]() Author has written 9 stories for Final Fantasy VII, and Fullmetal Alchemist. No, I'm not dead, I've just been real busy lately. I'm currently working 50 hours a week in IT and spending an additional 10 teaching Kung-Fu. Add a few more hours a week of Kung Fu for my own advancement and not much time is left to split up for everything else. But I love writing and am not about to give it up. I'll just be really slow at it for a while. I've only written FF7, but I have plans to expand into other fandoms. Speaking of FF7, I recently had a reviewer ask why I wrote the Turks using weapons other than what they had in the game. I figure other readers of my Turk fics might wonder about this too, so I decided to copy my explanation into my profile. Basically, I usually work on the theory that while Turks generally prefer close quarters fighting, being Shinra's elite secret agents gives them access to pretty much every weapon in Shinra's arsenal. So I generally write them with a fair variety of arms hidden under their suits. This lets me put more variety in my fight scenes, which is particularly nice for longer fics with lot's of fights. Like What If, where they use everything from their bare hands up to a later scene where they get summon materia and Rude's walking around with a minigun. Works in progress: Burnt Bridge: About to start on the final chapter again. I had it about half done when my hard drive crashed, breaking my momentum. This happened almost a year ago, but I will eventually get back to it. Dirty Work: I haven't started on the next chapter yet, but I have ideas for chapters featuring Reno, Cid, Tseng, Elena, Rufus, a random Shinra HQ cafeteria worker, and Palmer. I haven't decided who I'll do next. Yes, I actually plan to write a serious Palmer chapter. Upcoming projects(No telling when I'll get to these...): Fullmetal Alchemist Hayate vs. Flame: When Riza shows up at the office without her dog, Roy jumps at the chance to avoid work/impress Riza and slips out when she's not looking to surprise her by finding Black Hayate. Of course, not wanting to do more work than he has too, Roy drafts most of his crew to help. Little does he expect, catching a dog is harder than it looks. Especially when the dog in question thinks evading his pursuers is a fun game. Final Fantasy 7 A Friendly Little Chat: Comedy One-Shot. Reno and Rude aren't too happy with the idea of Elena dating Cloud, so they invite their 'little sister's new boyfriend out for drinks at Tifa's bar to discuss things with him. Unfortunately, Reno has a hard time being intimidating when he keeps getting distracted and flirting with Tifa. In the Mansion of Madness: My first horror/supernatural fic. It'll be a H.P. Lovecraft inspired fic about Vincent's last mission as a Turk. Of course, since it's Lovecraft inspired all the characters will go at least partially insane and/or die horrible deaths. Night of the Living Cetra: This'll be a horror/comedy. Cloud finally finds a way to bring Aeris back, a book from the Nibleheim mansion called the Necronomicon Ex Mortis. Unfortunately, it doesn't work out exactly how he planned. Aeris is back and she hungers for the flesh of the living. Think FF7 meets Shaun of the Dead with a little Evil Dead thrown in for good measure. Klaatu, Verata, Ni-cough-! Boredom: Just another Reno gets bored at work and causes trouble comedy fic. It was currently about 40 percent finished when I lost it due to a hard drive crash. It was sitting on my hard drive at 40 percent for over 6 months now, so there's no telling if I'll finally get around to redoing it. Yeah, I know there's tons of fics like this, but Reno causing trouble's really fun to write so I'm doing it anyway. Closure: Thinking he's about to die in the Temple of the Ancients, Tseng writes a final letter to his fellow Turks. I ran out of steam on this about half-way through, then lost this due to a hard drive crash, but hope to rewrite it someday. Did You Get the Memo: Proof that I've seen Office Space too many times, this'll be a comedy fic set in Shin-Ra HQ and featureing things like TPS reports, uncoroperative printers, etc. Basically it'll be office humor. I might end up having this project absorb Boredom, since that's going nowhere. Untitled Reno/Aeris fic: Set pregame, this fic'll explore what could happen if Reno and Aeris fell in love, and what it would take to turn her into a Turk. In other words, things will get very AU. If it goes over well, I may write a sequel that takes place during the game and shows what'd happen differently. Untitled Mansion sequel: If Mansion goes over well, I plan to do a sequel in the same style about Sephiroth's mission to the accursed mansion and his subsequent loss of sanity, soul, and life. Untitled What if sequel: Just another meteor survivors try to get on with life and make a living in the post-meteor world fic. I don't plan to even write an outline for this until I finish What if since my plans tend to mutate while I'm writing them. Untitled What if spin-off: Reno, Rude, and Elena hang out in various bars while Reno tells Elena stories of old missions. I plan to write it in the same style as the flashbacks in What if and use the same backstory and OCs. Quantum Fantasy: A Final Fantasy 7/Quantum Leap crossover. Basically, something goes worse and Sam ends up leaping into various FF7 characters. Hopefully there'll be some readers who remember the show, though... Suikoden No Regrets: A Suikoden 2 one-shot featuring Culgan and Seed talking while waiting for their last battle against Riou, then talking a little more afterwards while bleeding out. Oughta be all philosophical and angsty. I plan to also write in the Firefly, Xenogears, and Final Fantasy 6 fandoms eventually, but don't have any plot ideas at the moment. Eventually, I'll probably also try my hand at poetry. Some stuff I like: getting reviews, reading, writing(obviously), Kung-Fu(I practice and teach an internal, animal-based style and Qi-Gong, which is kinda like Tai-Chi if you want to oversimplify both arts), writing fight scenes(This lets me combine two of the things I love most, writing and martial arts. Fun.), challenges in general, playing video games( I've been playing console games since the Atari 2600 and PC ones since the 286.), Emulation(especially MAME), watching movies, hanging out with friends, classic rock(Led Zeppelin, Doors, etc...), other, lesser forms of rock(I'll also occasionally listen to classical, jazz, blues, or game soundtracks, but not as often as rock), good wine or liquor(The type that's too expensive for me to actually buy enough to become addicted to.), a few very dark beers(currently experamenting with making my own), well-made mixed drinks(current fav: dry Gin Martini), collecting swords and other pointy objects(this kinda ties in with the Kung-Fu), funny webcomics, driving fast with the windows down, shooting(Only at inanimate objects like used coke cans, usually with vintage rifles. I view firearms the same way I view every other weapon, the real weapon's the mind, everything else, swords, fists, pistols, rocks, cars, ballpoint pens, etc., is just a tool, an extension of the body.), collecting vintage rifles(preferably WW2 or older), tea(any type, as long as it's brewed right), spellcheck, exotic food(Preferably spicy. I'll try nearly anything once. Some of them, like raw sea urchin, won't get a second chance though...) Some stuff I don't like: boredom, the vast majority of tv shows(yawn), country, pop, emo, and rap music, not being able to legally drive real fast, needles, small enclosed spaces(Claustrophobia sucks!), cheap beer(Almost every type I've ever tried tastes like dirty water. With the exception of Corona, I only like really dark or brown beers, like Guinness and Negra Modello.), cheap wine or liquor(I drink for the taste, not to get drunk.), neo-prohibitionists, politicians, greasy food, acid reflux(part of the reason I don't like greasy food), migraines, people who try to force their views on others, quickedit(unless they've fixed it since I last tried it...) Feist, David Drake, etc... Favorite movies: Equilibrium, Serenity, L.A.
