![]() Author has written 24 stories for Bionicle, Wreck-It Ralph, Pacific Rim, Lloyd Alexander, Alexandre Dumas, Frozen, Whisper of the Heart, and Porco Rosso/紅の豚. "He was born with a gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad." ~ Scaramouche, 1921 Greetings and Salutations, I'm crankyman7, and this where I get to explain what I'm doing here. All right, here goes. My story is simple enough. I've known about fan fiction for quite a while. I approve of not-for-profit fan fiction in principle. Nevertheless, with the odd exception, I never felt like writing any myself until the summer of 2013. That was when I decided to put my money where my mouth was, so to speak. I have enjoyed my time here so far, and I hope I will continue to do so. I don't give two pence for graphic sex scenes and other pornographic materials. If that's your thing, so be it. Just don't expect me to read it. I'll read something dealing with sexual topics/themes only if I personally feel their inclusion is justified by the needs of the story. Same goes for anything I write. I believe in giving honest feedback, albeit tactfully. This means that I will freely, if politely, delve into both the strengths and the weaknesses of any fic I review. Constructive criticism may sometimes sting, but I'm a firm believer in it. My belief cuts both ways. You are free to offer constructive criticism on my own writing if you so wish. Here are some of the books, shows, movies, etc. that I like: Literature: The D'Artagnan Romances and almost anything else by Alexandre Dumas The Redwall Series The Chronicles of Prydain The Chronicles of Narnia Tolkien's Middle Earth Legendarium Movies and TV: The Pirates of the Caribbean Franchise The Star Wars Franchise The Indiana Jones Franchise Avatar: The Last Airbender Wreck-It-Ralph The Lego Movie Frozen Fullmetal Alchemist [Both the 2003 version and Brotherhood] Almost anything by Pixar Animation Studios The Films of Hayao Miyazaki. The Films of Studio Ghibli in general. That's just a smattering, at any rate. To all who have read and enjoyed my stories, I extend my thanks. Whether you follow, favorite, review, or just read, I appreciate that you have taken precious time our of your day to look over my writing. It means a lot to me, knowing that people have an interest in what I'm doing here. A Note To My Readers: If you choose to leave me a review on any fic I have written -no matter how long ago I posted it- I will always read it, whether it is positive, negative, or both. Always. No exceptions. I'm a firm believer in the power of feedback, and if I'm going to put my writing where everyone can see it, I ought to be in tune with how people respond to it, even if it means reading about how my story stinks. I also respond to as many reviews as I am able. As far as guest reviews are concerned: obviously, I cannot respond to them. But yes, I do read them, and take any feedback therein into account. Upcoming Stories for the Wreck-It Ralph fandom: 1. Divergent Fates: A four volume work dealing with the creation of two games, TurboTime and Sugar Rush, and the lives of each game's primary character, from the time of their respective games' arrival in Litwak's Arcade, to the end of the movie. [Note- The Second Volume, The Girl in the Turquoise Hoodie, is currently being serialized] 2. A further multi-story arc set after "The Bonds of Friendship". This is in early development, so don't expect any of these stories to appear for quite a while. Other Upcoming Stories 1. Two sequels to The Price of Retribution. 2. A fic for The Incredibles. A Note Concerning my Wreck-It Ralph Fics' Chronology: The stories I have written for the Wreck-It Ralph fandom are all set within the same fanon universe [an AU in which only the first film happened] and they all occur at different points on the same timeline. You're certainly welcome to read any amount of them in any order you choose, if that's what you'd prefer. Nevertheless, as most of the stories are interconnected, you might possibly get more out of some of them if you read them in order. There are two "sets" of stories, if you will- one a set of post-movie fics, the other set before, during, and in the immediate aftermath of the film. If you're planning on reading all of them, I recommend that you read the post-movie fics first. They are [so far] as follows: 1. An Anthology of Wreck-It Ralph Tales 2. Pangs of Confusion 3. A Dying World 4. Search and Rescue 5. The Bittersweet Embrace of Time 6. Tales from Litwak's 7. The Bonds of Friendship The pre-movie fics are [so far] as follows: 1. A Racer's Pride 2. The Girl in the Turquoise Hoodie [Currently Ongoing] 3. Chronicles of Litwak's Arcade 4. Jokes |
