![]() Author has written 8 stories for Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Durarara!!/デュラララ!!, Touhou Project, Hunter X Hunter, and Undertale. Hello there! Aines is the (user)name, and the numbers are there because yes. Things I do include writing and being on the internet, among other things. What draws me to fanfiction is my love for characterization: I have a love for seeing characters in a variety of different situations and circumstances, and having them interact with different environments. It goes without saying that I am a character-driven individual, and I read and write fanfiction because I wonder what certain characters would do in certain situations, and wonder just what other people have to offer when it comes to their own ideas as well. If I don't know the series, I won't read about its characters, since there would be no meaning to it for me and no way to verify how in-character they are. With that in mind, you won't see me with a varied amount of fanfiction in my favorites list (if anything, the list is kind of old, now that I think about it). If the Touhou fandom were more active when it comes to fanfiction, you would most likely see me around there a lot, but it unfortunately isn't. People who've looked through the profile before may notice I've changed all of the text for some reason. It's nothing complicated: I was just starting to cringe at the way I exposed things. Besides, the profile was pretty long. I can in no way say that this will be any shorter, but you've just gotta deal with it, then; no choice on that matter. Anyway, anything I do will inevitably have a light tone to it (it's somehow impossible for me to have a fully dark story), though some are much sillier than others. Stories that are more serious and supposed to be more interesting are probably easily identifiable, so if you're in for that and not the stuff I post just to vent out my creative juices (it must always be done with silliness somehow; at least, if it's something I finish), you'll know which ones they are. But hey, if you're bored, it's always good observing my writing development from ugh to kind of better... Maybe (some things are old and weird; people grow). I have a preference for friendships and family relationships, so you will most likely never see romance in anything I write. Ever. Since I like seeing characters interact with different situations, my stories are all of that nature: their plot tends to be the consequence of a change in canon that will bring about different events and character interactions. It's basically stuff written with me in mind, so if you're into what I'm into, you'll probably like it. In the same way I appreciate fanfiction with the characters decently in-character, I will always try my best to have the characters as in-character as I possibly can, since I feel as if the stories would have little meaning otherwise. If I fail at anything character-wise, I would totally appreciate being told about it! In general, though I'm not sure if there's much of a need for me to mention this (it just seems so obvious, but other people sort of talk about it, so I guess it's not?), I appreciate any and all opinions regarding my stories, positive or negative, constructive criticism or a mere thought: I like websites of this sort because there is a feeling of communication and interaction with the people reading, so there is no need to fear your opinion being shunned by me. Everything uttered is put into consideration. Even so, I naturally will not expect people to expose their opinions if they do not want to: everyone has their circumstances and reasons, so just the fact that you read (and perhaps even follow the story) is amazing enough already; I do not wish for people to feel pressured to speak their minds. I'm not what you call an avid reader, and I don't tend to find a great amount of fanfiction I can really enjoy, but I'm around. I read stuff. Sometimes, I review, when I know what to actually say or feel as if there's potential in something. I have a greater liking towards heart-warming stories, but I'll basically like anything I find decently in-character or just so hilarious or silly that I can't count on such factors (even then, everything is made better when you see the characters being somewhat in-character; blatant OOC repulses me). I ship nothing in particular, but I try out romance fics every once in a while, especially if the pairing is unusual because it's intriguing how one can make the interaction work. Even so, I'm much more attracted to things focused on friendship. Definitely. I'd honestly have become a beta reader if I weren't so piled up with stories and ideas and real life, but I'm not one and probably never will be. Currently, I'm seeing if I expand my internet horizons and seeing to it I perhaps manage to write a book of my own (an original one)... All while writing fanfiction. One can only hope I manage this in my lifetime. Anyway, with all of that said, I have a list of all my stories and their status, if you'd like to take a look: it's comprised of how many chapters have been written, how many words they have, the progress of a chapter that's currently being written, my thoughts and comments on it, and, of course, the title and summary. Though it pains me to bring it up, if a deleted story isn't on this profile, it's because it isn't coming back for sure as I found that it was either not up to my own standards or lacking in worth to write further or re-write: I know the sadness that comes with something that's deleted, so I'll preemptively apologize for doing so, especially because I don't warn anyone about it beforehand; I am truly sorry for disappointing any readers. I can only humbly hope I have your understanding. Whatever the case, this list below is always updated and is always accurate to the word count of my messy first drafts (so they won't reflect on the final word count, but will give you an idea of how the story's going), so it's really reliable when it comes to my progress. Hopefully it will be convenient for you, since it's also pretty convenient for me. Also, I've decided that I'll even mark what exactly I've changed in the profile or list of stories, just so you can know what I'm actually making progress on currently. The stuff that changed from the last time I've updated this profile will be represented by an asterisk (*) after whatever it is I've made a change to. Stories I'm writing: Touhou & Hunter x Hunter - A Clash of Values and Auras: After the seasons begin to stabilize, what seemed like a mere rumor becomes a potential reality pertaining a new crisis for Gensokyo's balance. Faced with a foreign power, a pressuring force in the form of a faint white aura, Reimu Hakurei sets out to investigate and defeat its source. However, as otherworldly values clash, she sees that the process will not be as simple as usual. Status: Finishing the middle of chapter 20, currently at 303,336 words (chapter 17 excluded).* Comments about the current chapter: I'm very sorry for the silence, but this is definitely still going and I was just on a hiatus because of real life. The plot is kicking in right now and I'm hoping I can really get this chapter done before June and edit chapter 14 in the first week of June, so that'll be when I hopefully upload!* My comments: And here I go again, right into another crossover! I'd go on to writing a sequel to Sanbouken and all, but I would never do such a thing half-heartedly and without 100% guarantee of finishing it, so I'm focusing on other things, instead. It just so happens that the other thing is Touhou and Hunter x Hunter, since, well, you can never have too many Touhou crossovers. To be honest, my biggest source of inspiration was that there were no Hunter x Hunter crossovers with Touhou to begin with, and I felt like there might as well be since the two series kind of fit as two whole worlds of their own... Or do they? A clash has negative connotations, but there are all sorts of clashes. How this one pans out, you'll just have to see. Though, as a warning, it is a pretty long and slow story. KHR - Katekyo Swordsman Squalo!: Without a direct heir, the ninth boss of the Vongola, old of age and ready for retirement assigned Tsunayoshi Sawada as his successor. Fitting of the unexpected decision, and perhaps as the most apparent show of senility from the Ninth, the one chosen to* tutor the boss-to-be was Squalo Superbi, ever loyal to the Varia and more than willing to rid Xanxus of his rival. Status: Starting Chapter (Target) 129, currently at 281,617 words. Comments about the current chapter: I've been putting quite a lot of time into writing this story even though my backlog for it is already huge enough I technically don't need it, but I truly want to see this story completed! As such, yet again, I've got stuff done, and am nearly two thirds in the plot which is pretty exciting! As for this target, it's definitely a complex one since it's a pivotal moment in the storyline, but I naturally can't divulge why in here. My comments: Yes, this had to be a thing, it had to. From the moment I wrote that one scene in Target 7 of KIM (Katekyo Illusionist Mammon), I had the desire to make this happen and, as you can see, I've written a lot already; that's how motivated I am. While this story might seem really similar to KIM from the first Target, what happens after it is totally different from said story, trust me: from the second Target on, it doesn't even resemble it. Besides, the format of KSS (Katekyo Swordsman Squalo) is completely different from KIM's: as revolutionary as it is, I'm writing chapters under 1000 words! Seriously, me, who usually uploads chapters ranging from 9000 to 20000 words, actually writing small chapters like these, it's amazing! With that in mind, this is a completely different yet fun experience for me, and I hope you'll enjoy it as well! Completed Stories: KHR - Suddenly, I'm in another world: I'm in the world of Katekyo Hitman Reborn, like in all those fanfics! I wish I was reincarnated though, that would've been more convenient for me. But maybe I'll still be able to meet all of the coolest characters ever while I'm in here...? That would be too good to be true, I can't take that much awesomeness at once! Status: Completed! My comments: I might've said that this story was weird or whatever (and it is) but honestly, I think it's a masterpiece, my magnum opus! Okay, I might've misused the term magnum opus (I did) but the story is definitely grand... in my heart. It's really the first story that I completed but that's not why I think it's a masterpiece: I'm not even spoiling you on the story, you have to read it or you wouldn't understand. If I had to tell you something though, I guess it'd be that everything was according to plan, everything. Seriously though, it was a huge challenge for me: writing everything not only in present tense (I don't usually write in present tense) but also in the perspective (first person) of an OC that is very, very extreme in things that would normally make me cringe; and cringe I certainly did, I laughed a lot too (laughing at my own scenes...). This is just a one-shot with an bonus chapter but I still think that it was worth writing; I can only hope that you enjoyed it, granted that you read it to the end since this story is one of those that you really have to reach the ending to understand it. Anyway, now to work on my main stories... KHR & Touhou - Before Being Born Anew: After an unknown amount of time spent idling in the Netherworld after another death, Mukuro Rokudo neared reincarnation once more. At his final moments before disappearing from the land of the dead, he came across a stone path, the only one he had ever seen in his uneventful time in there: his interest piqued, he decided to see where that mysterious path would lead him... Status: Completed. My comments: It's my first crossover, yay! It's also my first actual one-shot, since it has no bonus chapters. It doesn't have as much of a plot as the summary would make you think, actually: I wrote this on a whim, only because I felt inspired and didn't want the chance to write a crossover to slip by me. Since, somehow, my one-shots tend to have minimal plot, this one has it too, which always makes me feel on edge: I mean, I enjoyed writing it and when I read it, I thought it wasn't too bad, but I'm always afraid most will find it boring. Whatever the case, I liked writing one of my favourite cahracters, and I also like Mukuro, so it was quite an enjoyable experience for me. Now the question is, will you like this? I have no idea, but I hope so. Durarara!! - For His Beloved Humanity: In which Izaya, to earn the love of his humans, decides to become a super hero. Status: Completed. Note: Yo, yooooo! This got fanart. FANART. Needless to say I died of happiness and ressurected myself to tell you about this, because I never thought I'd ever get something like that in my entire life (lives... figurative lives...? Whatever, we all know I didn't actually die X.X). Here's the link: kasurisu(.)deviantart(.)com(/)art(/)SuperHero-Izaya-555771510 Since I didn't want it to redirect you to this profile, I had to skewer it like that; just remove the parenthesis and it'll surely work. It's by Kasurisu, also known as 's.Kas in this site. Seriously though, this is amazing...! My comments: I was able to do something from my ideas section (which is gone now since it was dumb, but let's pretend it's not) for once, hurray! Also, it's my first Durarara fic, finally! I've always wanted to write one: even if this is just a one-shot, I really enjoyed it since it was just so silly. This is honestly where I realized I cannot write a one-shot without it being at least somewhat misleading and I don't know why XD Whatever the case, writing Izaya is the best thing ever and, if you've seen my profile before reading this, you'd know I've always wanted to write something with him in it: as it turns out, I can only get inspiration for him just after recovering from being ill, isn't that great? Not only that, but I spent a whole night writing this one-shot, literally: somehow, my writing quality did not drop, but the writing style is somewhat different from what I usually do. That summary is so short though, but it's so perfect at the same time... Touhou & Undertale - Touhou Sanbouken (山妄件): Unsubstantial Underground Adventure: The last thing Reimu Hakurei remembers is flying towards the mountain. Despite that, she somehow finds herself in an underground location solely filled with monsters, trapped by a strong barrier. Reimu has dealt with many odd cases, and this surely won't be the last. Determined, Reimu sets off to find a way to cross the barrier and leave the Underground... Status: Completed. Something to note about this work is that it was written before Touhou 15.5 came out, so all things that don't align to characterization present there or any established facts is due to this. Note: Yet again, omg, excuse me while I fangirl at the fact that somehow one of my stories inspired people to do fanart! It's always such a lovely surprise, especially because I never expect my stories to inspire such effort! If only expressing my gratitude didn't take so much space from this little square (or else I'd be writing way more than this)...! ;_; Anyway, since this website likes redirecting you to my profile if I put out the links as they are, I put parenthesis around the slashes and dots; just take those out and you'll have the actual links! The first drawing is by a user named , the second one is by a user named cureno, and the third and fourth one are by a deviantart user named KOUWELM; thank you again! Now...! 8D Here's the link: thaiglasses(.)deviantart(.)com(/)art(/)Reimu-is-so-done-with-your-puns-Sans-579916158?ga_submit_new=10 Here's the second link: alice-mangotroid(.)tumblr(.)com(/)post(/)134691094634(/)had-snowy-stuck-in-my-head-while-i-was-drawing#notes Here's the third link: kouswelm(.)deviantart(.)com(/)art(/)NO-NICE-CREAMS-GIVEN-606539326 Here's the fourth link: kouswelm(.)deviantart(.)com(/)art(/)TOUHOU-x-UNDERTALE-Where-was-I-616917577 My comments: I never thought I'd pull off a multi-chapter crossover, but it looks like that's what I did... Hopefully. Can you believe that this is the story I felt the most nervous about uploading? Because that's totally the truth: Undertale and Touhou are such great games that I feel like it'd be blasphemous if I screwed anything up. Whatever the case, I won't say this is amazing, but I did put a lot of effort into it, and I really feel like I actually accomplished something when I wrote it. To me, it was already strange that I was able to finish something to begin with. I hope this is a sign that maybe I'll truly do something with my life in the future. That's what this story is to me, as cheesy as it sounds. I suppose something you work on for two years really starts gaining meaning to you after a while, huh? Well, I can only hope that, despite everything, you can at least enjoy the story. KHR - The Cafeteria: How many years had passed since then is a fact only Tetsuya Kusakabe knows clearly, but there used to be a cafeteria in Namimori Middle School. Status: Completed. My comments: A two-shot that existed more or less as a preliminary work to a bigger story I have planned for the future, which I'll only upload when I have the first draft completed. I happen to be writing for most of my free time and juggling a lot, and some stuff that I'm not uploading just doesn't make it to the profile page, but there are many things I plan on. As I was researching for the sake of that one story I don't have revealed, I noticed something interesting about the setting and in running with it, I decided to run with basically a character study based off of a small idea as well, and put some themes to the mix that make it a bit of an odd work by nature, but I do hope it's interesting, at the very least. Stories I'm not working on at the moment: KHR - Katekyo Illusionist Mammon!: The current boss of the Vongola, the Ninth, is of old age and ready for retirement. However, before he can truly give away his position, he must make sure the next boss is prepared for the responsibilities that await him. With that in mind, he decides to task the mission of tutoring Tsunayoshi Sawada to... Mammon, of the Varia? Status: Finished Chapter (Target) 8, currently at 60,752 words. On a hiatus; slight re-writes pending. Note: Everything KHR-related used to be on a hiatus, but I'm currently trying to get back to writing them after having caught up on character research. I started up the spin-off first because it was shorter and simpler, so it's not like I've abandoned this; it's just that this story is more complex by nature. When I finally upload a chapter from this story, it'll be out of the section of stories I'm not working on. Comments about the current chapter: A character will surely be introduced next! Look forward to that? While I kind of have an idea of who I want to introduce, I might just change my mind for something more interesting. Even so, I'm totally gonna introduce a character! My comments: It's basically what the title implies, except that Mammon doesn't 'replace' Reborn: Mammon is still from the Varia and Reborn is still around, it just so happens that the Ninth decided to pick Mammon instead of Reborn. Naturally, with such a change in canon, everything becomes completely different: without Reborn, a lot of things don't happen; he is the titular character, after all. Having Mammon around only triggers other events instead, which makes for amazing canon destruction, and it makes me as excited as I am afraid of screwing this all up. I've written a lot ahead of you before uploading this, which was to guarantee I had enough inspiration to keep going with something as complicated as this: since I've been writing really huge chapters and have a trillion ideas, I sure hope this story will keep going with as much force as my main one. Whatever the case, hopefully any of the stories will live up to your expectations! |
