Author has written 35 stories for Slayers, Dead or Alive, Blue Submarine No. 6, Fullmetal Alchemist, 24, Firefly, Sailor Moon, and Legend of Zelda. Update: 2010.11.05 This account is no longer being updated. Seven years ago, an idealistic and rather naive 12 year old girl signed up on fanfiction.net and started a process that she would never believe the consequences of. Her first fics were terrible, the thing that made most readers cringe and hide under rocks to escape, rampant with spelling and grammar errors, Mary Sue OCs, OOC characters, and blatant derailment of all that is held sacred to canon. She crashed into pit falls that all newbie fanfic writers fall into, got flamed on more than one occasion, and learned the hard way how to navigate the labyrinth that is the world of fic, prose, and story telling. Since then, I've grown exponentially as a writer. I've learned from my mistakes, had a tone of criticism (not always constructive) shoved into my face, and have worked my way through fic after fic, all in the name of becoming the writer I am today. Today, I can proudly say that I am a good writer, even if the fics here do not demonstrate this fact. And this is why I'm leaving this account up. This is why I'm leaving these fics up. Because even though I'm desperately ashamed of what I used to write, of just how bad some of them are, I'm intensely proud of how much better I've become since I started writing over seven years ago. A lot of these fics are cringe worthy, but looking back on them, and then comparing them with what I currently write, I see how far I've come, and that progress and development is something that I can't bring myself to regret in any shape or form. I'm still writing on a near daily basis, still posting my fics. Maybe for different fandoms, maybe for different pairings, but still writing, and I don't think I'll ever stop. Before fanfiction, I never thought of writing as anything more than a tedious process for school. That changed when I found this site, and nothing has ever been the same. Thank you, fanfiction.net, for introducing me to the world of writing. I would be a far different person if it weren't for this site, and the first steps it provided me. ~Graywords-girl Want to read my recent work? Check out my Livejournal Community. |
