Of Arguements

A/N: Another fic for the 50scenes challenge; pairing is still Malon/Sheik. This one is just a silly little drabble. Prompt was "Neutral". Maybe a little OOC... but not much.

Disclaimer: I don't own 'em. Though it would be super neat if I did.

From his position, seated at the dining room table, Link wasn't sure whether he should be amused or downright terrified.

In his ear, Navi giggled something about lovers' spats, and the blonde waved her away in mild irritation. The room was loud enough without her voice in his ear, thank you very much. With wide-eyes, he leaned back in his chair and continued to watch the scene unfold before him, wincing as Malon's voice rose an octave to put emphasis on a word that really didn't need it, before smoothing back into her tirade, waving her arms in a near comical motion every few minutes to get her point across. Across from her, his shirt gone, bandages wrapped around his middle (the injury beneath being the cause of the current circumstances), Sheik shouted back with equal vigor, although he looked more tired than angry.

In his time of knowing her, Link had thought that he had seen pretty much the entire range of Malon's emotions, and over time, he had come to understand that she had the patience of a Great Faerie. He'd seen her angry before, and usually, she crossed her arms and glared a lot, occasionally making a snarky, sarcastic reply until he apologized to her. Never once had he ever heard her shout before. At least, not in anger. But now... Link was fairly glad he'd never had the full side of her anger on him before. And Sheik... well, he'd never even heard the Sheikah raise his voice before this, which alone spoke for how... interesting this situation had shaped up to be.

They were shouting over each other, neither really hearing what the other was saying, and they were loud enough that Link couldn't hear either. With a sigh that was quickly lost in the argument, he leaned forward on his elbow, crinkling his nose as Navi fluttered past, still giggling, her dust making him want to sneeze. Distantly, he thought to himself that if this was what happened when you fell in love with someone, then he was never going to do so. Love, apparently, did strange things to people. It made them crazy.

He wondered if, perhaps, Zelda might be able to find a cure for this love-thing, as it seemed to him to be more of a disease than anything else. If he found her, that is. He was sure he would, it would just take time. And she was smart enough to probably know how to fix his friends.

"--and I'm sure he agrees with me, don't you Link?"

Startled, he looked up. Two pairs of eyes were on him, one ruby, the other sapphire, clearly waiting for his answer, both glaring at each other out of the corner of their eye. With a jolt, he pushed away from the table quickly, scrapping the legs of his chair against the floor loudly.

"Don't put me in the middle of this!"
