Modern AU. Elsa vows to protect her sister Anna by any means after the death of their parents. So when she crushes Anna's marriage with Hans, angry Anna leaves the house, only to have an accident. She is rescued by a mysterious Kristoff, while Elsa mourns with the false news of her death. Meanwhile, Hans plans to take advantage of a mourning Elsa… (Hans-Elsa), (Kristoff-Anna)...

Loneliness is the catalyst for drastic actions, something Elsa had to learn the hard way. When her sister, Anna, flees for the mountains in a fit of rage and irrevocable loneliness, the detached Princess is forced to consider her rigid prejudices. In a twist of fate and luck, a very different Anna will meet Elsa for the first time in forever.

This is simply the same version of events told with more detail regarding the emotions of both Anna and Elsa. It begins with the Coronation but then jumps to after the Blizzard and Thaw. I wanted to avoid most of the direct content of the movie and instead imagine what happens next. Mostly I just wanted inside Elsa and Anna's heads, so here is a beginning of their interactions.

Anna is a difficult person to wake in the morning, but Elsa will get her out of bed by any means necessary. A battle ensues...

Elsa, if we can't see each other, can we at least talk? Through paper and a pencil? Love, Anna.

It is 15 months since the Great Thaw, and things in Arendelle couldn't be better. Anna and Kristoff grow closer, and Elsa has settled into a comfortable routine as Queen. It's "Happily Ever After" after all. What could possibly go wrong? An old enemy has a plan to make it ALL go wrong. Two chapters are rated M for MATURE, with reasons explained. Enjoy. AU. It is strange how you can fool people around for long and lead them astray. It is strange how deluded and bias we can become. In the end, it is all about the lies we are fed, how well they are constructed, how convenient are they to believe. Staying around those people taught her there is always a hidden side of the story.

A couple months after Frozen, Arendalle recovers from the storm. Elsa and Anna are relieved to be together again, and start to rebuild their relationship. Kristoff and Anna hit it off, and Elsa enjoys her new life as a free woman.
