Author has written 18 stories for Bones, NCIS: Los Angeles, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, and Arrow. I live in Melbourne (Australia) and make no apologies for not conforming to American spellings of words such as 'colour' and 'humour' and 'honour'. I've alway had the type of imagination which spins out scenarios like films in my head (getting me into trouble occasionally) and for a long time, I'd write them down just to get them out of my head. So they would just stay in the note books next to my bed, often in short form but some stories just demand to be written in full. I work in health which, not unlike hairdressing, gives you a window into so many different people's lives as they tell you not just about what brings them in to the clinic and their life stories but often the cream of the crop of their friends & family's stories. Add that to a rather dry sense of humour, especially about the actions of people and the situations they get themselves into & I have an awful lot of material to work with. Shows I watch & the Ships: Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (Jack/Phryne & Hugh/Dot), Castle (Caskett), CSI New York, NCIS LA (Neric & Densi), NCIS, Person of Interest, Rizzoli & Isles, The Glades, Bones (Booth/Bones & Angela/Hodgins), CSI (Eric/Morgan) The things I love about Bones: It's irreverence, the Booth/Bones dynamic, the script writers who are incredible and it's ability to capture the 'human' element of the victim which so many shows seem to lose over time as they get more and more process based. (NCIS:LA) Nell & Eric: You have to love these two, whether you're a nerd (like me) or not they're just so much fun! There's not nearly enough fanfic for this ship out there so I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring. Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries: I'm a little bit infatuated with Jack & Phryne at the moment. I've always loved the 1920s and it's set in my home city which always helps but mostly I love watching the tussle between two incredibly strong wills; Jack restrained, conventional and honour bound and Phryne free, wild and hell bent on breaking the rules. Someone to Believe In: Taking a leaf out of Silversentinal21's playbook, I wanted to have a space where i could (very briefly) give updates on progress for SomeoneTBI for anyone who's wondering. I'm really enjoying writing 'Someone', I love the opportunity to essentially isolate Nell and Eric from the things which restrict them from becoming closer and force them to deal with their feelings for each other over a longer period than is easily achieved within cannon. I also like the idea of them being involved in a slightly different side of the OSP work rather than assisting behind the scenes. Will I finish it? Yes. It may literally have taken years but there's only a couple of chapters left ;) Why am I taking forever to finish writing? Sadly, I have an incredibly busy life. But I've finally finished my post-grad qualification so I have time to dedicate just to getting it finished :) I also made the plot about 5x more complex than I'd originally intended, which is why it's over 60,000 words now when I'd originally been thinking about capping it at 10 chapters... I also haven't actually had enough time to keep up to date with NCIS LA so I'm about a season behind which doesn't help. |
