Amilyn chapter 1 . 9/29/2010
This is beautifully descriptive. I think my favorite line is "the only place big enough for her was him." Excellent use of language throughout, especially with the recurring images of claustrophobia and things closing in, the rain accumulating on the tent, Daisy's chatter, the the living vs. the dead. Excellent.

Goodness, this one shot has rendered me incapable to construct a well deserved praise.

AMAZING.
lizook chapter 1 . 6/24/2010
Kat, I adore the track you took with this. Taking something that starts as such a comfort to her and slowly, but surely flipping it on its head.

There as usual lots of little bits that seemed perfect, that wonderfully fit Bren and how I imagine she'd be feeling in this situation, but "She felt isolated in the forest, the only living thing among trees that never seemed to stop. Abundance, was the essence of this forest. Abundant water, abundant trees, abundant loneliness. There was an excess of everything, and yet it also seemed, a scarcity of the most important things [...] And him" was my favorite. I just adore the juxtaposition of the lush tropics and her isolation, the thought that he ranks up there with medical supplies to her.

Bittersweet, but still lovely. Nice job.

Excellent job. I don't know what I enjoyed more, the poignancy or the excellent description. Keep up the excellent writing.
Kate56 chapter 1 . 6/18/2010
Wow, I wish this wasn't a one shot. I want to know how Booth feels and will Brennan find a reason to leave early.

Your words choices really brought her pain and despair to life.
mendenbar chapter 1 . 6/17/2010
Delicious. My computooter has been down for a couple of days so I am mucho behind in my work. But I had to keep this one available so I could comment when it came back up. Again, tasty piece.
anthropologist chapter 1 . 6/16/2010
This is an amazing portrait of Brennan's increasing dependence on Booth, and the last part reminds me of one of my favorites quotes from The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Beautiful writing and wonderful imagery. Your work never fails to impress. :)
Pigtails and Poker chapter 1 . 6/16/2010
I don't have anything earthshattering or constructive to say. *sigh* I just LOVE the way you write. Beautiful story.
TheLifeILive chapter 1 . 6/16/2010
Wow, that was absolutely amazing! I think you spoke for her brilliantly and did an excellent job articulating how she'd feel after being away from him.

Amazing job!

Absolutely amazing! So beautifully descriptive, I'm almost feeling like I need to catch my breath! Gorgeous language highlighting some brilliant insights into our favorite forensic anthropologist. The last line was just stunning...I can't say enough how much I loved this piece!
MadeOfStars chapter 1 . 6/16/2010
Beautiful, every line. I love the poem at the beginning (I will have to check out that author) and love the aching sadness throughout this one. ANd the details are excellent too, like Daisy talking in her sleep, how funny amidst all the heartache. I hope there will be a companion piece... Fingers crossed!
daisy07 chapter 1 . 6/16/2010
Another one of your beautiful, perceptive pieces of writing. I hope TV Brennan comes to a similar conclusion!
burninganchors chapter 1 . 6/16/2010
Absolutely gorgeous! Loved it! Your writing gives me chills, and you always have the best endings. Everything in your stories is always so, so true: "It was unbelievable, the degree to which you could be absolutely blind to what you need until you no longer have it."

Lines like that are stunning to read, so please keep writing so we can see more! :D
