Hey everybody! It's been too long since I've gotten to write fanfiction. I must change this. But in the meantime, enjoy some of my favorite quotes! Quotes from my friends (and anime people): Arnold H. Glasow: A true friend never gets in your way unless you happen to be going down. Chihiro77: Do you like penguins? douglas adams: flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Hiei (to Kuwabara): Your stubborness is even greater than your stupidity. Hiei (about Yusuke): He's so neck deep in repression, even I feel sorry for him. Margaret: You know, you are laying down defenseless, and I do have a foot. Anonymous: Needing someone is like needing a parachute. If they're not there for you the first time, chances are you won't need them again. Winston Churchill: Men occasionally stumble over truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as though nothing had happened. Winston Churchill: The best lesson life has taught me is that the idiots, in many cases, are right. Anonymous: Doubt is the darkroom where negatives are developed. Anonymous: Lead me not into temptation- I can find it myself. Anonymous: Stress: a condition brought on by over- riding the body's desire to choke the living daylights out of the jerk that desperately deserves it. Marauder's Map: I solemnly swear I am up to no good. Yann Martel: Life will defend itself no matter how small it is. Anonymous: Many would say that writing is a form of escaping reality, but there is nothing more satisfying than living in a world of your own creation, even if only for a little while. Tad Williams: We tell lies when we are afraid... afraid of what we don't know... afraid of what others will think... afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger. Robert Fulghum: Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A beauty bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination. Fr. Alfred D'Souza: For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way. Something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life. Jane Wagner: See, the human mind is kind of like... a piñata. When it breaks open, there's a lot of surprises inside. Once you get the piñata perspective, you see that losing your mind can be a peak experience. Anonymous: Band- Thinking the show will never work. And then, finally, it comes all together and you have achieved perfection, drumming your hands off and playing your brains out and tossing higher than the sky. It’s a slice of time in a stadium when everyone cheers and your mom cries and pictures get taken and once, just once, you have the world in your hands. And the band marches out of the stadium and down the street, always together whether it's success or not, and you know by the feeling in your hear it doesn't get any better than this. And you know if your director asked you to turn around and "do it just one more time a little better" you would. For any of you who have made it this far...congratulations! You've been on the internet for too long! But in all seriousness...if anyone's wondering why the hell someone will have a fanfiction account for as long as me (it's going on about 10 years now), it's because I love to write. That's it. No big mystery, no...nothing. I write because when I was younger, I always turned to the written word for comfort when I was sad. As I grew older, I thought...why shouldn't I give that back? So please forgive the naivety and inexperience of my earlier fanfics. I'm working to make them better, and I hope (even though they're just fanfictions) that they bring you a little comfort...a little sanctuary if that is what you require. Thank you. |
