Author has written 62 stories for Harry Potter, That '70s Show, Hogan's Heroes, Robin Hood BBC, Doctor Who, Bones, Community, Fall, 2006, Pushing Daisies, Disney, and I Dream of Jeannie. Hello. As you may have guessed, this is the profile of the self-proclaimed (ahem) author Glorious Clio. I used to be Midget in High Heels, sorry for any confusion that this may cause. So, I never really know what to put here, except trivial things. I don't want you to track me down, after all. But... I've just graduated from an all women's college in Minnesota, with a major in history. I took a year off, and I'm now working towards my master's in Library Science. This might actually kill me. My icon refers to Clio, the Muse and proclaimer of History. She's often depicted with an open scroll or next to a stack of books. I have also published work with my good friend Matriaya. Our co-pen name is TwoTruePairing, where you can check out a Robin Hood fic we wrote. Our second collaboration is actually a Marauder-centric, Harry Potter story, called Defiance. So feel free to leave some love over there! I have a tumblr! I love my tumblr. Anyway, enjoy! And feel free to leave me a little review. They are my absolute favorites. I'll try and return the favor, but I can't make any promises. I have a full time job, an internship, and I'm going to school; quite frankly, I only have about 30 minutes (usually less) a day to devote to fanfiction. Just ask yourself one question: would you rather have Clio reading or writing? Don't answer that. I may have more time after the holidays, but we'll see. A Brief Guide to Clio's Robin Hood Stories: Pre-series/Series (episodes noted, canon compliant insofar as I ignore series three): A Knight in a Church Pre-Series. Robin and Marian are always loyal to each other, and have been from a very young age. This is the story of the Christmas that started it all. The Fruits of May Robin/Marian preseries; a particular day in May will make a beautiful memory. Home They've only just gotten engaged, and Marian decides to try something she's never tried before. Window Blues A collection of vignettes regarding Maid Marian and a visitor who is not unfamiliar with her second storey window The Wayward One Marian stays behind after Robin abruptly breaks their engagement and goes off to the Holy Land. What happens to those left behind? This is not a romance. Before Midnight Inserted scene for episode one. Marian and her father have a discussion (set after Robin's feast; before the secret meeting). Untouchable A short story about Lady Marian. Set before Guy's proposal in 1x07. No spoilers. Under the Weather Marian finds an unexpected visitor on a cold, wet winter's night. Wrong Me Not, For I'm Weary Marian introspection. Green-Eyed Jealousy runs rampant through Robin Hood, concerning "his" lady Marian Draw Your Threads Marian drabble… no real pairing. Missing scene of "A Clue, No" season 1, episode 13. "From the manner in which a woman draws her thread at every stitch of her needlework, any other woman can surmise her thoughts." Honore de Balzac T for adult themes. This was the first Robin Hood story I ever wrote. 2007. Seems so long ago! (It was.) Dreaming Through the Darkness Set hours after "A Clue; No." A fluffy little tale of Robin and Marian being cute. I can't help it. Birds of a Feather Set the day after "A Clue: No," somewhat of a sequel to "Dreaming Through the Darkness." Djaq has a wound to tend to, and an unlikely friendship blossoms. Missale Romanum A random Sunday in Nottingham... set before the season two finale, no spoilers for anything. Promise. Robin drabble, slight RobinMarian. Taking Wing Marian escapes from Nottingham Castle, for just a little bit. Written as a response to prompt four on the "day by drabble" community on livejournal. It's not very long, though longer than a normal drabble. The Good Bit Set after 2x06 "For England" A little bit of Robin Marian Hurt/Comfort fluff for us all to enjoy. Written for Neftzer for being a fantastic beta (go read her stories. Right now). Lost and Found Set after 2x07. The gang reflects on their losses thus far. Have they even gained anything? From here on in, it's a bit "chose your own adventure": post-Walkabout rewrite (A Year and a Day) or "end of series two" rewrite ("Husbanding England" universe). AU, Post-Walkabout. Marian is tired of being a pawn, and Robin is tired of waiting. Adventures ensue in an out of order fashion and not according to plan. Not compatible with “Husbanding England.” Because one AU wasn't enough.
Stories in my Husbanding England universe (Deviates from canon drastically): Husbanding England A story that rewrites the last few minutes of the series two finale, ignoring canon and introducing historical accuracy. For once. I am insanely proud of this story, and flattered at the feedback it's gotten. Encouraged by your lovely reviews, I (you lovely readers, really) have spawned several stories in this continued AU. Pillow Talk Missing scene from Husbanding England. Finding You Much deserves a happy ending, too. Historically and geographically accurate, and super fluffy. Through the Crimson Dawning Little John witnesses justice in France. Not as fluffy as the other characters' outcome, but not everything is perfect. The Beginning of All Things Robin and Marian have a baby! As fluffy as it sounds, but miraculously still in character (so say the reviews). Morning Lullabies Little Baby Katherine reminds them of another adventure. How Knighton Got its Hall Back More Locksley babies. Because Robin and Marian are fertility symbols. Silent Night Will and Djaq celebrate a Christian holiday in their own way. This will probably be the only outright Will/Djaq story you'll ever get in this 'verse. They are exceedingly difficult to write, just to the sheer fact that they are from radically different worlds and cultures. If you want more Will/Djaq, you're going to have to talk to Matriaya. Another Edward The story of Robin and Marian's third child. WARNING- childhood death. An Archery Lesson He wants her to have choices in the world. Runs in the Family Some Family Drama. Raising kids is tough! Locksley's Work is Never Done The long-awaited sequel! Haha. Set 21 years after “Husbanding England.” Robin, Marian, Much and the rest of the gang have moved on with their lives. They’ve settled down, had children, and restored peace and stability to Nottingham. But what happens when King John conspires against this tranquility? Release Robin has to learn to say goodbye. Unspecified: Goddess A Robin POV drabble on Marian; AU future fic, and spoiler free! Rated T 'coz I'm paranoid. Beltane I wrote a smutty PWP, okay? Forgive me, but I wrote it in my head in church. Oops. The "Fab Four Challenge": Matriaya gave me five Beatle songs and challenged me to write fic to them. So song fic warning... I just love the Beatles and Robin Hood. Two are Robin/Marian, two are Will/Djaq, and the smutty one is whomever you wish (in my case... more Robin/Marian). Take pity on the smut one... it's the first (and only) "bedroom scene" I've ever written that's not fade to black. So... I think it sucks, but whatever. Without further ado, and in chronological order: When I'm Sixty-Four, Blackbird, Let it Be, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, I Want You (She's so Heavy) I also want to take a minute to address the issue of copyright (so scary). I've done a fair bit of homework on this subject and how it pertains to fanfiction. Everything written here comes under what is called fair use. 1) The purpose of these stories is to question the content of the original text, add in new story lines, and create new adventures. Never for profit. 2) The nature of the work falls somewhere between "love letter" and "parody" (if parody is defined as work that comments upon and criticizes another by appropriating elements of the original). 3) The amount of the original work is kept as minimal as possible, usually limited to setting and characters (though I do sometimes use direct dialogue, normally in italics). 4) The effect my stories have on the market of the original text is nil. The communities I write for have no new content coming out. I could not take away from this market - if anything, I am generating more interest in that market. One final note: being "favorite'd" is very, very nice. But (did I mention?) I love reviews best of all! |
