![]() Author has written 39 stories for Veritas: The Quest, Harry Potter, Primeval, Tribe, Britannia High, Dark Angel, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Librarians, 2014, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Legends of Tomorrow. *Now on Tumblr as findingfeathersseanchaidh, and on Instagram as curuwen. Check out my Instagram account for sketches of character costume designs. You can find my Ragnarok (The Librarians) series posts and pics on Tumblr with #ragnarokiscoming.* Before you ask: it's Gaelic. If you want to know what it's Gaelic for, you'll just have to do a little research. I'm sure you'll find it if you look hard enough. For those of you who remember eyeboards, many, MANY years ago - I used to be known as Curuwen, or, occasionally, Pure Grace. Yes, I have been writing fanfiction since before some people on here could walk, or were even alive. I was only just still a teenager when I discovered the genre. The recently expanded internet had only just really made it possible. Yes, I am that old. My website, "Finding Feathers" on "proboards", is updated with everything you can find on here - up until the most recent stuff for Legends and for Librarians since I couldn't keep up - plus my artwork, poetry and some original stories. It comes fully equipped with forums for posting your own fiction, fanfiction, poetry and artwork, so please wander over and join us. Registration is completely free. If any lonesome scriptwriters trawling the oceans of fanfiction for ideas want to borrow any of mine that are posted on this website: feel free. After all: I borrowed your characters and backgrounds when I wrote them. Might be nice to get a mention in the credits but I'm not really expecting anything. Anybody wishing to contact me about anything in particular can do so either through my own website, or on this one. I'm rubbish at fan art and fan vids so if you have one that you think suits any of my stories and want to share, or if you feel like making your own, feel free. Just don't ask me to make any! I believe there is one still out there on you tube called "You" for my Primeval story "Perhaps Love". And yes, apparently I do take requests. I'll accept most challenges when it comes to writing. Legends of Tomorrow What We Leave Behind - Complete. Set between 1x07 and 1x08. Searching for the best possible replacement for Mick Rory, Rip takes The Waverider back to Central City, but it's not the Central City of 2016. A Stitch In Time - Complete. Picking up from the end of season 1. Was going to be a straightforward fantasy adventure, but I got challenged to write a romance for once. This will be full novel length, maybe upwards of 70 chapters.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Against The Odds - Complete. A very short little vignette for my newest obsession, imagining the discussions between Agents May and Coulson at the start and end of Fitz and Ward's mission in 1x07, and a difference of opinion they might have had. The Librarians The Heart of Magic - Complete. This story is a series of adventures, each adventure taking three to five, chapters (roughly 7000 - 10000 words), with an ensemble cast. Every "episode" has a different focus and, just for my own personal amusement, reference one or more other works of fiction that I love, all of which are listed in an afterword at the end, just for fun. There is a definite story arc from beginning to end, running through all the episodes, just as there is in the TV series, but each episode is a story in itself. A play within a play, shall we say. Well, maybe not exactly, but... Episode List: The Adventure of The Selkie's Skin - 3 parts The Adventure of The Janus Coin - 4 parts The Adventure of The Book of Thoth - 3 parts In Somnis Veritas - 5 parts Trouble Over Nothing - (Valentine's Day Special) - 4 parts Palimpsest - 5 parts Ask Me No More - 5 parts Rage, Rage Against the Dying of the Light - 5 parts Afterword: Posted. It is varied. Different characters are emphasised in different episodes. There is fantasy. There is magic. There is adventure. There should also, hopefully, if I have done my job right, be laughter, tears, misery, joy, love, romance, hatred, envy, jealousy, friendship, insanity, reality, confusion, possession, mythology, mystery, anger, hurt, forgiveness, dismay, idiocy, death, life, hatches, matches and dispaches, and, well, drama... Saffron - Complete. A filler short story designed to explain the drastic change in how the team are acting towards each other in And The Heart of Darkness thanks to TNT's reshuffling of the episode order. April Fools - Complete. A short-short written especially in honour of the day. Posted on April 1st. The Next Best Thing - Complete. A short-short written in response to a request from a reader. Ezekiel goes out on his first solo mission. And The Quest - (Sequel to Heart of Magic) Complete. The first sequel to Heart of Magic. There are both a third and fourth installment in the series planned for after this one. Research is well under way and the overall story arc is in place, but I'm not giving that away. Suffice it to say that there is a whole wedding to plan for in this series, and it may require me to dust off my dress designer skills again (you can view these on my new Instagram account). That's going back a bit! As usual, expect adventure, magic and mayhem, and all the rest! Episode List: And The Quest... Episode 1: For the Thief's Chalice - 5 chapters Episode 2: For the Pharaoh's Cat - 4 chapters Episode 3: For the Book - 6 chapters Episode 4: For the Lost Leonardo - 5 chapters Episode 5: For the Dress - 5 chapters Episode 6: For the Ghost - 6 chapters Episode 7: For the Stone - 6 chapters Episode 8: For the Ring - 6 chapters Episode 9: For the Sword - 5 chapters Episode 10: For the Perfect Day - 5 chapters Afterword Ragnarok - (Sequel to And The Quest) The third of my Librarians series. In the wake of revelations at the end of And The Quest for the Perfect Day, The team have a new project in hand. Ragnarok is coming! Can they stop it? Will they stop it? And at what cost? Not everyone will survive the battle to come. Currently writing and posting an episode a week, starting on Mondays. Chapter titles are up, but, until they're written, the order may be subject to change. Well, the middle ones are... Episode 1: History's Greatest Monster - 4 Chapters Episode 2: She's Tougher Than She Looks - 5 Chapters Episode 3: Annoying and Cryptic - 5 Chapters Episode 4: More Than You Know - 6 Chapters Episode 5: The Shared Narrative We Agree To Believe - 6 Chapters Episode 6: Loneliness and Adventure - 6 Chapters Episode 7: The Worst Version of Himself - 6 Chapters Episode 8: As Big As We Need It To Be - 6 Chapters Episode 9: Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler - Chapters 1-5 posted. Chapter 6 in progress. Episode 10: The Magic I Know Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries Crucible - On hiatus. The story begans at an unspecified point in the pair's history which, unfortunately was gazumped by what happened in the remainder of season two. It goes on to examine just what would have to befall the characters before they would own up to what we, I'm sure, find perfectly obvious! I do hope my head holds where I'm going with this, as crime fiction is notoriously difficult to write and ridiculously easy to tie yourself in knots with if you lose track of where you are going. Harry Potter For The Memories - On hiatus. Initially started just after reading book five, this follows an alternate route to year 7 at Hogwarts. Dumbledore is still around and, in his eternal wisdom, has just picked Hermione as Head Girl and Draco as Head Boy. As part of their new position in the school hierarchy, they are magically prevented from the verbal swordplay they usually indulge in. The introduction of a new potions professor, and a very interesting potion with some rather odd side-effects, soon fixes that though! Veritas: the Quest Road To Damascus - In progress. Set some years after then end of the one and only series, the team are reunited once more when Niko returns from college to find Juliet in a relationship, and Cal in plaster! His search for the truth behind their growing antipathy leads to stories of love, loyalty and sacrifice. If only he didn't have these new powers to deal with as well! Currently in hiatus while I learn more about the Holy Land. Tribe Gel's First Kiss - Complete short story. Mushier than usual for me. I like the ending, but I wouldn't have written it if I didn't. Crash And Burn - Complete novella. Interesting character interactions. Romantic comedy with a touch of drama and tragedy. Follow Your Heart - Complete novella. Thriller, with some adult themes. Loses it's way a bit in the bits joining start to middle to end, but hang in there for the finale and see if you can guess the twist. Admittedly, I wrote it and I'm still trying... You Live, You Learn - Complete trilogy, beginning with my first ever piece of fanfiction, written way back in 2001. - Part 1: S4 Follow-On - Famous for the worst name in history. Short, fast-paced and picking the story up from Zoot's apparent arrival at the end of series 4. Watch out for the dream sequences and/or headset sequences: they can get slightly bizarre and hard to follow (but then so are most nightmares). - Part 2: Life Goes On - Famous for introducing Jetta. Anyone who read these when they first came out on eyeboards will know what I mean. Thank you LizUS: she was the best character anyone ever sent me! - Part 3: One More For The Road - Famous for going slightly mental in the end. Well, I say slightly... Is There A Place For Me? - Novella in progress. Well, I say novella - the way it's going it might end up overtaking "War and Peace" in the word counts! Now on here and being worked on again! Alternate reality situation turnaround, taking off from the end of the last ever series of the Tribe and considering what might have been had the virus never happened. Contains near enough ever character that ever showed face in the series, even small ones (if they're not in there yet they will be!) as well as a couple of non-canon characters. I'd say original, but they aren't: Anni came up with Jewel and Liz came up with Jetta! Watch out for old, OLD pairings: ah, the way things might have been... Ah, the ketchup... A Tragedy In Five Acts - Five part saga still in progress. - Act 1: Easy Like Sunday Morning - Complete. My favourite. Now completely posted on here. Starts somewhere in the middle of the last series, but further forward in time, changing the ending of the last series and kicking off a series that will have a really good ending if I can ever get back into writing it! Odd, although popular at the time, pairings. Still my favourite pairing with my two favourite characters and yes: I'm still trying to work out how (especially when you look at Is There A Place For Me?) I managed to write three or four thousand words at the start of this with just two characters! - Act 2: How Sweet it Is - Complete. Now being posted on here. Yes, there's a slight musical theme starting to arise here. This was when I was in my writing from song titles phase. Jetta returns, with a vengeance and a completely different background to the one in You Live, You Learn! - Act 3: Blame It On My Youth - In progress. Tragedy begins to take hold of the storyline and things start getting tough. For the writer too: that's why it's still not finished! It is, however, back in action and this, along with the rest of the series and everything else I've written, original or fanfiction, is now completely up to date on my website (to find it just use the google search tems made obvious in the info up at the top of this profile!). Many thanks to those who auditioned characters for this. I'm still accepting more (you have no idea how big this cast will get at one point!), so if anyone has a character they'd like me to include for a bit part, please PM me! Nice Guys Don't Grow On Trees - In progress. Now being posted on here and homepage. The boat left the city with our 19 survivors on it. Now it has found land and all 19 passengers start to build a new home for themselves. But will they survive? And what awaits them in this new home? New friends? Old enemies? Or perhaps the other way round? Brand new! POLL now up in the comments thread on my homepage! Please vote! I'd really like to know what people think about the hinted/blatant pairings so far. Yes, it does centre on Jack: I am a Jack fan, live with it. There's plenty of time spent on the other characters too though. Please feel free to start arguments in the comments thread on my own website: it makes things so much more fun! Feathers, Fights and Friendships - In progress. This story has been running since 2002/3 and it takes the idea of fanfiction to a different level. This story is a Tribe fanfic, but it does not contain any of the canon characters, nor is it set in New Zealand. Instead, it answers the question posed to me a long time ago by a friend: 'What would it be like if they set the Tribe in the UK?'. So here it is. All new characters, all new setting, all new adventures, but same old virus and same old problems, plus slightly more rain... If you are looking for another Jacony or Jamber, don't look here, but if you do read, please review! You DO NOT need to know anything about the Tribe to get this story, so if you just want to read something different of mine, and haven't seen the series, this may be for you! If you do happen to know anything about Glasgow, fire in: it's set in the Princes Square mall (renamed in the story as the Feathers mall) in Buchanon street! Primeval Primeval A-Z - each chapter is a complete, unique story inspired by successive letters of the alphabet. Inspired by similar sets of stories over in the Dark Angel part of the board. Please, Please Don't Leave Me - Complete. Following Abby and Connor's life in the Cretaceous, their struggles and triumphs. Romance/Drama. Has a corresponding You Tube video under the same title. WARNING: has an alternate ending. Chapter 8 is one ending, Chapter 9 another. Only one follows on to the sequel. Perhaps Love - Complete. Sequel to Please, Please Don't Leave Me. Following Abby and Connor's life after leaving the Cretaceous. Also Romance/Drama. Also has corresponding You Tube video under the title "You", by same You Tube user. My Series 3: Stormy Weather - Complete. This nightmarish sketch may cause confusion. However, it may also be of use to the readers of Mirror, Mirror and its subsequent series. Mirror, Mirror - Complete. Picking up the story three months after the end of series two, this takes the team further afield than they have been previously, in this era, anyway. Start of a series of individual stories each building on a common thread and grand finale. That's the plan, anyway. Off The Wall - Complete. Sequel to Mirror, Mirror. The beast of Bodmin never looked so... er... green? Bad Penny - Complete. Sequel to Off The Wall. With Cutter left in shock by Helen's revelation at the end of Off The Wall, the fate of the world seems to rest on Connor's shoulders. The only problem is, he has troubles of his own. Women troubles! Plus, there seems to be something rotten in the heart of the ARC... And how many soldiers does it take to catch a fish? Oh, You Pretty Things - Complete! The final instalment of my primeval series. With our heroes now split into two groups, how will each team cope with working alone? Is there any truth in the old saying "United we stand, divided we fall"? And what exactly are Helen and her mystery man up to? My Series 4: Episode 1: MIA - A work now complete (the slow way thanks to aforementioned computer problems) tracking the fates of our heroes following the end of the actual series three (not a follow-on from my own one). New characters, new creatures and new eras. Watch out for the blatta bugs! Anyone who can pick out any of the influences and references gets cookies for letting me know! :) Episode 2: He Ain't Heavy - Still in progress, but getting there, this story follows our heroes, old and new, on their joint and individual adventures. Look out for the return of one or two characters we just love to hate. My Primeval Spin Off: Everybody Loves A Hero: Yes, it's set in North America. That means the whole of Canada and the US. That means I'm not tying myself to anything the official lot are talking about doing. This series, for a change, is already fully cast in my head, with the cast of the main lead roles listed on the first chapter and other "guest appearances" due to turn up in later chapters. It was written as an homage to my favourite actors and actresses from across the pond, not just to the idea that the Primeval team are planning to write a spin off, so do not expect it to follow them in any way. Technically, they're writing fanfiction now, and two can play at that game. Britannia High If Only - Complete. A "Christmas Special" style short story in homage to one of my favourite characters from the show, whom I think was sadly underused. Yes, it is a fantasy. Yes, it is Ronnie's fantasy. Yes, it is slightly surreal. And yes, it is a bit of a pile of fluffy, pink, sugary sweet (and perhaps tongue-in-cheek) romantic nonsense written by an utterly unromantic cynic. What can I say: the evil plot bunnies kidnapped my sense of taste and reason yet again. Do let me know what you think though! Dark Angel Five Years On: Episode 1 - Complete. A Ronseal title. Five years have passed since the transgenics raised the flag over Terminal City and much has changed. Old friends and lovers are gone and new enemies have arisen, or have they? Yes, there will be an episode 2, eventually. Summaries for those who haven't seen the series/read the book: The Librarians: Think Warehouse 13, with magic. Or, for Lindy Booth fans: Relic Hunter crossed with The 4400! There's a bit of Indiana Jones in there too. Basically, ten years ago, prior to the series starting, Flynn Carson was recruited to be the new "Librarian" - a job with much more practical work than you would think. After ten years of roaming the globe, tracking down magical artefacts to take back to "The Library", an incident occurs that brings him into contact with Colonel Eve Baird. She is recruited as his new "Guardian" or protector, and together they go on their first mission, to rescue the only three people who did not turn up to the job interview that got Flynn involved - the rest having been killed already. Those three people, when they first meet, are as different as any three people could be, but, slowly, they learn to get along, and to value each other's gifts. Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries: Set in the roaring 20's in Australia, The Honourable Miss Phryne Fisher returns to her homeland looking for some interesting way to make use of her time, and to keep her active mind, and imagination, busy. She becomes a Private Detective, annoys the local police and gathers a growing number of waifs and strays to her household. Personally, I prefer the TV series to the books. I find them more balanced and, as far as these things ever are, more believeable. Any stories I write here, therefore, will be based on the TV series not the books. The Tribe: A post-apocalyptic drama in which a mystery virus has wiped out all the adults, leaving only confused children to rebuild the world. Set in New Zealand, making the sense of isolation even greater, the remaining children have grouped together into "Tribes". Follows the progress of one tribe in particular: the Mall Rats. For detailed summaries, check out . This lasted for five series in which babies were born, people died and a technologically advanced tribe called the Technos turned up to bring that extra edge of incomprehensible computer equipment and virtual reality to the story line. If you think that sounds bizarre, just wait until you get to the end of the You Live, You Learn trilogy: even I have trouble working out how I got from the end of series 4 to the end of that! Veritas: The Quest: Single series American show in which a rather dishy archaeologist (yes, he is!), his precocious teenage son and his multi-talented team hunt down artefacts, including the "Holy Grail" which make up the mythical "Ring of Truth", pursued by bad guys called Dorna, protected by the guy from The Mummy (Imhotep) and funded by a mysterious benefactor who might have been pals with Leonardo da Vinci. Sadly axed after just one series, during which they only found three pieces of the ring of truth, but also turned up a whole shedload of other stuff! Harry Potter: Actually, I honestly don't believe there are still people out there who don't know at least the bare bones of the Harry Potter story. Primeval: A professor of evolutionary zoology, his lab technician and possibly least favourite student discover rips in the space-time continuum, called anomalies, which let things travel through time and space. They are joined by a lizard enthusiast and the home office to investigate, clean up after and cover up the anomalies and whatever comes through them, including the true star of the show: an over-intelligent coelurosauravus called Rex! All the while they have to put up with various spanners thrown in the works by said professor's wife who disappeared eight years ago and, unbeknown to any of the rest, including the lab tech whom she'd had an affair with, spent the eight years travelling through the anomalies. The jury is still out on whether she's psychotic or just plain evil. Currently the closest sci-fi to my heart as I get to play my specialist knowledge card on both the zoological and the evolutionary front! Don't ask me about the physics though! Britannia High: Take modern day High School Musical and cross it with good old Fame. Take away the legwarmers and add Gary Barlow as director of music and Arlene Phillips as the brain behind it all and you have the basics of Britannia High: a performing arts school where the six key characters are students from all walks of life taking a chance on doing what they love and running into all sorts of trouble along the way, aided and abetted by the school's three teachers (I'd hate to see their timetables!) and a young dinner lady from Grimsby. Really: what more could you want? Dark Angel: For years the US government had been experimenting with genetic modification. Eventually, they created a breed of genetically modified soldier that could pass for an ordinary human. They called them the X5 series. In the winter of 2009, a group of these X5 soldiers, mere children though they were, escaped from their barracks. Those who survived spread out and were assimilated into normal human society, a society which, after a catastrophic electromagnetic pulse brought the US to its knees, was easy to get lost in. Years later, the series begins by following X5-452, known to the human world as Max Guavera, who pays her way through the world as a messenger with a neat sideline in cat-burgling. It follows her trials and tribulations as she unravells the mystery of her birth and creation. |
