My name is Daisy and I’m just a regular eighteen year old girl. I’m also British. No – not ‘that’ sort of British. I’m not obsessed with tea, be it afternoon or morning. I don’t talk like the Queen but at the same time that doesn’t mean I’m Scottish. Adding to the list, nor do I base my life around the royal family, go horse racing or participate in whatever other stereotypically British activities there are out there. ‘British’ is just a) a nationality and b) a word, and it’s something I’m happy to call myself in the least patriotic way you can think of.

Although I do feel extremely happy when we win medals at the Olympics. Especially the Winter Olympics, because we don’t have a skeleton/luge track yet still somewhat succeed.

Also, I’m not a fan of British television. Doctor Who? The current version doesn’t compare with my six year old self’s memories of the show. Sherlock? Too much RP. Harry Potter? Definitely not! In fact, probably the only British series’ I actually enjoyed were The End Of The F*ing World (despite portraying us Brits yet again as sociopathic and heartless), Miranda (cancelled) Skins (which makes 2008 British teenagers look rough and generally extremely problematic – and also cancelled) and of course I adore Killing Eve (but that airs on BBC America first, then then it comes over here... ah, well, it has a bunch of British actors, and I adore Jodie Comer so I'm saying it counts). If you’re here to ask about British television, then I’ll recommend Location Location Location... sounds like a sitcom, but, erm, it isn't.

You could say that I’ve been writing fanfiction ever since I was just seven or eight years old; I’d write and rewrite Pokémon episodes and Disney films, unaware of the wonderful world this site unleashes. I first came on here probably in 2013, reading work from Hunger Games and Les Misèrables viewers (I was that sort of tween) before creating an account where I wrote a dozen chapters for my own Hunger Games fanfiction, which I guess I've given up on, if you haven't guessed already from my profile. I’ve bitten my way through several accounts but this account is different. Why? It’s because I love what I’m writing, even if it isn’t necessarily Suzanne Collins-level perfection.

People perceive fanfiction writers to be different to who we usually are. I mean, I’m just your usual teenage fangirl who writes to get her way through sixth form, off to study at university next year. I’m low-key (alright; high-key) obsessed Riverdale. I will watch episodes and think about them for a while afterwards, and the ‘what ifs’ and ‘what coulds’. I’ve always wanted more of the story, ultimately all of it, and understandably get frustrated when LGBT characters aren't portrayed as I wish they could be, the same with mental illness not being properly dressed - those are both personal issues close to my heart, and I try to fill in for what screenwriters miss or delete as best as I can to make up for that. This is what inspired me to write and publish fanfiction online. No – it’s not perfect. But I’m your average B student, working hard and having her own boundaries to set. Quite honestly, every single follow, favourite and review received on here means the world to me and I’m so so grateful for them. I never expect a lot nor ask for the world, so to have written fanfiction with over thirty reviews in one case is just something I’m so proud of achieving.
