![]() Author has written 2 stories for Fairy Tail. Current Work(s) During Those 7 Years Completion: 70% In order to insure quality updates for all my readers, I plan on writing 1K words a day instead of cramming as many words in one sitting as possible. A typical update ranges in between 8K-10K words, so updates should be expected every week and a half with editing already taken into consideration. Expectations from me: -Updates should be posted a week and a half from when the last one was; in other words, expect around two chapters a month. -I'm currently accepting plot ideas for this Fanfiction. I already have one arc planned for after the Magic Coalition, but I'm always open to any OCs and possible additions to the story! Feel free to drop a review whenever you get the chance. -That being said, I don't, or will not ever demand or request a certain amount of reviews for this Fanfiction in order to continue updating. -If enough support is generated, I already have some ideas generated for a possible sequel. Again, if you have any suggestions about this, reviews are the best way to communicate with me other than PMs for this work. I read all my reviews and respond to as many of them as possible. Bio and Questions I'm currently a Freshman in college. Because of that, I have an abundance of free time to write Fanfictions. How old am I? 18 What gender am I? Male What hobbies interest me? One of my biggest pastimes nowadays is the car scene. I own a 1985 300ZX and even with the problems it gives me from time to time, It's still more reliable than most of the cars just off the production line! I also have been playing clarinet for 10 years now, and if I'm not practicing or writing, I'm most likely playing Overwatch. Have I ever been in a relationship? Nope, not one. Favorite genre of music? Japanese Eurobeat. My favorite song ever is either Running in the 90s (Maurizio De Jorio) or Everything She Wants (Rest In Peace George Michael). Favorite anime? Initial D: highly recommend it to any car enthusiasts. Favorite video game? Destiny 1 Why Should You Read My Work? Here it is, the sellout point of my profile. In all seriousness, this is a question I haven't seen other Fanfiction writers address when they really should! Because at the end of a day, a Fanfiction might have hundreds of reviews, favorites, and followers; but that won't mean anything if the author doesn't have the dedication or motivation to update frequently for the enjoyment of his or her's audience. I've not only consistently remained active on my Fanfiction profile, but I try to update my stories in a time consistent manner. That's not to say that I update as fast as possible and not care about the content I upload, because that's not the case. I consistently try to read over my final product and make minor tweaks to it before updating my work. Tips and Feedback for Writing Writer's block: In my experience, the primary reason for the lack of motivation that Fanfiction writers experience (as stated in their Author's Notes) is Writer's block. While there's nothing wrong with taking a break from writing to recuperate a writer's thoughts, a plan of action should be devised for the future. Asses the situation... Ask yourself broad questions. "Is there any reason why I'm not feeling motivated? How much time do I need for myself in order to recover from whatever this reason is? When am I able to start diverting my attention back to my work?" Devise a plan of action... Your plan of action needs to be firm and specific. You need to commit to whatever it is you agree on. If you chose to use a certain amount of days to contemplate over your writing, use those days accordingly. For example, you might chose to take the week off to begin assessing the situation and devising a plan of action, but you can only be successful if you follow through with everything you promise yourself: "I will only take _ days off to assess my situation. During that time, I will do _ in order to help me find some proper motivation to continue writing. After I've completed these steps, I will force myself to begin writing again." Yes, you heard that correctly. For some writers, proper motivation and overcoming writers block might involve forcing yourself to write. This is quite ironic considering most of us write Fanfictions to relieve stress rather than force it upon us. Know your limits... Forcing yourself to write does not mean that you need to make your writer's life a misery by needing to write 2K words a day or some ridiculous goal like that: just be consistent with your goals and plan of action. If overcoming writer's block means only writing 300 words a day, then be consistent with those 300 words! As long as you're reasonable and consistent, the rest will hopefully follow. If overcoming writer's block means letting your imagination run wild and writing the craziest rough draft only to hack it down from there (I'm guilty of this at times), just be consistent with it until you're ready to ease back into a routine. Remember, your plan of action should relate to your limits. Everything should be in reason, but at the same time, can't break your limits. Writing 50 words a day isn't going to cut it, but just like training for a marathon, you don't want to immediately sprint out five miles (in this case, write 2K words in a single sitting). Make a routine that you can continue... If you follow these steps, I can guarantee that you will find motivation to write again. The toughest part is not procrastinating and forcing yourself to write again. For me, I comfortably write 1K words a day. Anything less is too little for my taste, and anything more risks causes stress and tiredness for me. I give myself a 200 word exceeding limit in order to finish off final thoughts. If I exceed this limit, I stop writing immediately. Once you get back into your routine, you won't want to stop writing! That's what I feel like nowadays since I'm properly motivated. I don't just shut off my computer though. Usually, I still write over that 1.2K limit. In this case, all I do is make a line break and start spamming all my ideas after a new page break. |
