This is a response to a challenge issued a while back by Whitefeather1965 to change one thing in an episode that changes the course of the episode and potentially the rest of the series. For mine I went with using the unfilmed scene from the script of "A Lovely Little Affair" with Amanda in Alan's hotel room and ask the question, "what if she didn't leave?"

This is an extremely belated response to a challenge to write a story beginning with the phrase, "The difference is, I lie for a reason." Lee has a new roommate; how will Amanda react?

As the third anniversary of their meeting at the train station approaches, Lee and Amanda spend a memorable afternoon together.

Answer to A challenge by Whitefeather1965 as follows: CHALLENGE: Two characters are having a serious discussion that turns into an argument. One character leaves in an all out huff. 2500 word limit. One-shot follow-up to the episode Promises to Keep to answer the question when and how did Francine learn that the break-up story was a fabrication?

In this AU sequel to "Acceptable Risks" Amanda's actions surprise the two men who think that they know her best.

After their "Mission of Gold", many people besides Amanda are affected by their reactions to her near death. Note: I have rated this story as "M", not for my usual reasons, but because of a certain humorous storyline that may *possibly* offend.

My second answer to the challenge to write a story containing the words, "Happy Valentine's Day," muttered a disgruntled (insert character name). Filler for Mission of Gold to describe Lee's actions between calling Dotty and arriving at Barney's. Tissue warning.

The challenge was to interpret the statement: "The most painful way to miss someone is to see them everyday, knowing you can't have them."

Lee discovers that one conversation has the potential to change many lives. This will be a three chapter stand alone story.

Yet another challenge response. One-shot. Could be considered slightly AU as it assumes that more time passed that just a week between "Mission of Gold" and "One Flew East" and deals with Lee's thoughts regarding returning to the job while Amanda is still recovering from her near-fatal shooting.
