Reviews for Forgiveness of Things Past
k2912p chapter 1 . 6/4/2018
Aww! This was so good! I absolutely ADORE Francine, and felt like she was treated badly a couple of times. My heart went out to her in this episode, and this was so well written!

Good point of view. You packed a lot of information and emotion in this short piece. Nicely done!

Oh, that was good! I could see all of that happening in the show too! Her being mad at them because they didn't tell her but especially since Amanda knew. Lol!

It is always a pleasure to read one of your "Francine files." She experienced real grief at losing her friend Lee so it is very understandable that she would be angry at the deception. Plus the fact that this is not the first time that Francine has been left out of the loop while Amanda was in the thick of things. Definitely not the time to use logic and reason to explain why Amanda.

I love the interaction between Francine and Beaman in the copy room. He is one of my favorite underused characters on SMK.

Finally Lee's denial that Amanda might have a crush on him is priceless. Well done.

I enjoyed this story very much like all your Francine Files. You can tell that she was more disappointed than upset about him faking his dead. For some reason both Billy and Lee let Amanda in their secret instead of her. Glad that they were on the right way to work it out.
The way you fit Beaman in was funny. Could picture him pretty well with his glasses in the copier room. Thank you for the "all-in-one" story :-)
Jestress chapter 1 . 3/3/2015
I like the way your portray Francine's shock at finding Lee's empty grave. Something like that would shock anyone, and Francine's anger at Lee and Billy for the deception was realistic. Not only had they set her up for the hurt of apparently losing Lee but also the shock of finding out that he wasn't really dead. Amanda had been hurt and angry at Lee for the same reasons, but Francine also had the hurt that Amanda had found out the truth before she had, even though Lee and Francine had been friends for much longer. Even though Lee's life was in danger, it's understandable that Francine would be upset at the deception and need time to sort through her feelings with Lee.

I also like the part with Beaman showing up in the copy room, even though he doesn't really have to, just because he wants an excuse to see Francine. :)

First of all, thanks for the shout-out. Glad I could help with the title. I loved this whole tale, from Francine's horror at discovering Lee's empty grave, to her pondering what's going on, then her anger and hurt at being kept out of the loop. I loved that you used the copier room idea that we've been chatting about. So great with it being very obvious that even then, it was obvious that Beaman had a crush on Francine. I love the banter between Lee and Francine at the end about their respective crushes, Lee teasing her about Beaman's crush on her and then her turning the tables on him by bringing up Amanda, such a Francine thing to do. So much to like about this.
I also enjoyed the bit when Lee is talking to Billy and saying that last time she was that mad at him was when they broke up. The mention of Lee's partner was a touching moment shared between the two friends as was the little non-verbal communication at the end. All around wonderful.

I really enjoy your Francine stories. As much as I like Francine, I never feel like I really get her right. I try to write about her but I guess you can call it a safe zone. Lol
