Favorite TV Shows: Heroes, Jericho, Teen Titans, Mythbusters, An Idiot Abroad, Missing, Ridiculousness, Tosh.0, Human Weapon, Nitro Circus, and pretty much anything from the 90's First things first: I'm relatively new to the writing craft. I've been trying to get a few things ready for publishing over the past three years, but so far, I haven't had time to really clean them up to the point where I'd feel comfortable submitting them to an editor. I've been working on one in particular for two years, and I've become kind of attached to the characters. More specifically, I really enjoy writing segments in the main antagonist's Point-of-View. The main antagonist of my novel is heavily influenced by Sylar from NBC's Heroes, and Drake Merwin from Michael Grant's Gone series. I'm a huge fan of the works of Matthew Stover (The guy's a beast), James Luceno, Troy Denning, Michael Grant, and our very own Shire Folk. So, this is the part where I have to give credit where credit is due. Hats off to Shire Folk, Hot damn. This guy is absolutely fantastic! He's actually the one who inspired me to start writing. His series: Kingdom Hearts: The Annals of Darkness is nothing short of a literary thrill ride. I think it's one of the best (if not the best) Kingdom Hearts fanfics ever written. Seriously, guys, jump on the bandwagon and pay this guy some props, he definitely deserves it. A few words on Matthew Stover: I don't even know where to start with this guy. His writing style is incredible. The way he writes fight scenes and the way he describes things is so effortlessly visceral that you can't help but lose yourself in the moment he's describing. I think my favorite work of his, hands-down, is The Revenge of the Sith novelization. It's just...I don't even have words, man. Just go read it. Now. Seriously. No joke. This guy's awesome. Props for Michael Grant's Gone series: Whip Hand owns. (Sorry, had to get that out of my system) I've always been a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction...I'm not really sure how that got started, but I like it. But guys, Mike G. takes the cake on this one. I mean, he's on a whole other level, a completely different spectrum of awesome. He's really good at getting down to the nitty-gritty details of the choices people face in that kind of situation. His characters have very diverse and unique personalities, and even though his series has one more book to go, it's been an incredible experience, an absolute joy to take this journey with him. Check his stuff out, pronto! A little more about me: I'm currently working on a Kingdom Hearts trilogy, and I'm hoping to post some Teen Titans and Gone fanfiction sometime in the near future, but my main focus is on my series at the moment. As you'll see below, I have a listing of my current/upcoming projects, just so you guys know where things are headed. Current Projects: Dead Men Stalking (Sora/Kairi, Vanitas/Kairi, Roxas/Naminé, Riku/Yuffie) Little and Broken (TerQuaVen family fic. AU-ish) Upcoming Projects: Escapade (Or, my fu*ed-up weekend with Kairi Kerrigan) [AU] Roxiri Surmmaries (because I suck at writing them...) Lucky 13-- This one just kind of blindsided me, and I had to start writing right away so I didn't waste a story idea. Roxas is involved in a horrific accident in which his sister is killed and his best friend is grievously wounded. Naminé rescues him, and the story deals mostly with Roxas learning to deal with PTSD and to move on with his life. AU Dead Men Stalking-- I suppose this one is AU as well; there are elements from the KH universe as well as the real world in this story. During a Heartless attack Destiny Islands, Kairi is separated from Sora and Riku during a military evacuation. Three years later she meets up with Sora, Riku, Roxas, and Naminé in Traverse Town High School. However, Sora and Riku are different than she remembers. She tries to uncover the mystery surrounding her two friends, and ends up getting involved in the Heartless War. Will she be up to the challenge? (Contains some BDSM elements) Yeah, this plotline has completely gotten away from me. I think I may just roll both Sora and Kairi's story into one fic, instead of trying to write separate fics--that would take too long... Escapade-- This one came out of nowhere too, so I want to start putting it down on paper before I forget it. It'll probably be pretty short... Here's the gist:Kairi Kerrigan, a world famous musician, puts on a surprise concert in Destiny Islands, an unscheduled stop on her "Pieces of Me" album-release tour. Tired of her pseudo-saint public image, she pulls a stunt that will change her life forever. That's about it for now...the only thing I have left to say is that I'd really like it if you leave a review after you read my work. Like I said, I'm a developing writer and, as I'm sure the other authors out there will agree, knowing what other people think of my work is really important to me. Even if you think it sucks, let me know, and I'll try to fix it. Enjoy! |
