Involved Promises
Sora sat with his wife on the couch in their apartment in Destiny Islands, finally able to relax.
Kairi smiled, leaning against her husband. "You know, we really should start thinking about a name for out child." She pointed out.
Sora nodded. "What do you think of the name Florence?"
Kairi's eyebrows raised. "Florence?" She repeated, testing the name on her tongue. After a moment, she shook her head. "Too old-fashioned." She paused for a moment. "How about Ariel?" She wondered.
Sora frowned. "Too common. We need something with zest, something with style, something sophisticated...like Fantasia."
Kairi giggled. "That might be a little too...unique." She said.
Sora let out a loud chuckle. "Yeah, that was pretty bad." he admitted, Placing a hand on Kairi's swollen belly, feeling the flesh pulse as their unborn child kicked.
Kairi smiled softly, marveling at how developed the life inside her was already. She stretched up to kiss Sora's cheek. "I love you," She said.
"I love you, too." Sora replied. His eyes brightened. "What about...Leslie?" He suggested.
Kairi thought about it for a minute. "I like it, it's a beautiful name. It's sophisticated, but it doesn't scream 'look at me I'm special'." She said.
Sora grinned. "Yeah, Fantasia was pretty bad." He admitted.
"What if it's a boy?" Kairi observed. "I like Hector. What do you think?"
"Honestly?" Sora asked.
Kairi nodded.
"It reminds me of the movie Troy." He jested.
"You're making fun of me," Kairi realized, chuckling.
"Oh no, I'd never be so foolish as to tease a fierce, courageous, Keyblade Wielder such as yourself." Sora replied innocently.
"That's right. And you'd better not forget it, mister, otherwise you'll experience firsthand the, comfort and quality of a Destiny Island couch." Kairi warned sternly. She couldn't maintain the facade however, and burst out laughing.
"What about..." Sora began after Kairi regained control of herself. "Tracy?"
"Too girly." Kairi countered,. "How about...Liam?"
Sora nodded. "I like it." he said.
Kairi mirrored her husband. "So do I."
Sora and Kairi cuddled on the couch for a moment.
"Leslie and Liam... good names." Kairi reflected.
"I agree." Sora seconded, and then he yawned. "I think I'm going to take a nap." he leaned back and closed his eyes.
"Enjoy your free sleep while you can, lazy bum, I'm not doing any midnight feedings." Kairi warned.
"What? When was this decided?" Sora wanted to know.
"Six months ago, the night right before we found out I was pregnant." I asked you about it, and you said you didn't care. "I believe your attention was...elsewhere." Kairi said.
"That's not fair! I was distracted." Sora protested, kissing his wife lingeringly on the mouth.
"That's not going to change my mind Sora," the princess of heart replied. "After all, you did promise...This isn't going to be an issue, is it?"
Sora shook his head, grinning. "Oh, don't worry—I've given up trying to argue with you." he said. "Besides, you promised to change all the dirty diapers."
Kairi pouted up at him. "But, I was...involved." she complained.
Sora winked at her. "A promise is a promise." he said.
