![]() Author has written 11 stories for Star Wars, and Harry Potter. An artist and writer with a love of Star Wars since 1977, and Harry Potter since 2003. Regarding my Star Wars fanfic - In MY version of the Galaxy Far Far Away, a galactic year consists of 10 calendar months, each containing 40 days, or four 10 day weeks. A Galactic Standard Day consists of 20 fifty-minute hours. This was something I made up for myself, to keep my own stories consistent. (I'm very anal about such things, yes.) My story, 40 Days to Bespin, was written in 2000, and online from 2001. It was first published in the zine Bloodstripe #4 in 2004. As far as I'm aware, the 40 day journey time is NOT canon. It was something I made up for my fic. In reality, it probably would have taken them a couple of years at sublight speed, but I made allowances for the speed of the Falcon- even without a hyperdrive it's a fast ship! And there is a lot of leniency taken with the physics of space and time in GFFA. A month seems onerous at first, but it allowed Luke some necessary Jedi learning time with Yoda, as well as giving Han & Leia time to...get to know each other better. ;) Also... "Force bonding" as described in my SW stories... something I made up. I should probably warn you that most of my Star Wars fics are AU! (I have never been a fan of the EU; too frustrating. Fanfiction is much more entertaining!) I've spent the last 30yrs or whatever - POST ROTJ - thinking it was ALL AU. The EU. Everything. So it didn't matter, you know? Then those bloody Prequels came out and messed with the origin stories I had in my head, but I hadn't written down, so sort of attempted to blend them in... Then I didn't write ANYTHING for the best part of 10yrs. When I started writing again recently, I was OVER the Prequels completely. Did not like. Do not want. So anything I wrote that disagreed with Prequel canon... MEH. I did not care. Still don't. However, now they've gone and made #7 and I really LIKED that one... But my stories, which I still very much wish to write, do NOT tie in with that. *sigh.* So, yeah. That. Just so you know. :) The order for my Star Wars stories runs thus - The Princess and the Sith Lord. The Imperial Joke Mission to Galadan. Under Coruscant. (still a WIP.) Ice. Forty Days to Bespin. One Night on Bespin. Family Matters. Tatooine. A princess and a guy like him. (still being written, and not yet published!) ~Leela. |
