I came back to FFN looking for this story after watching the new Solo movie. It was even better the second time! Still shocked that with a fan base as large as SW this doesn't have more attention and reviews! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this wonderful story with such an amazing emotional journey that develops the characters so well. Looking forward to continuing on with the series, and hoping you decide to upload the next installment soon :)

I just love this story. I've read and re-read it several times. Everything from Leia's guilt keeping her from being willing to let Han in to Han's need for Leia to come to him just feels so right.

I stumbled upon this accidentally one night unable to sleep. Four hours & a few cup of caf later I'd read the whole series of stories. I'm Jedi generation. Saw SW at the age of 9 and instantly fell in love with the whole universe , especially Han and Leia. 39 years on Han still remains my longtime love/crush & the SW universe still holds a big part in my heart. Ex-hubby never lived up to my correllian fantasy but at least we had a son together who now aged 15 shares his mothers love for all things SW. I remember reading the 1st Heir to the Empire book in '97 and feeling so excited that the SW stories were being continued. Han & Leia marrying , having twins etc was exactly the storyline I used to fantasise about as a teenager. The subsequent books that followed whilst very good were lacking in more "adult" scenarios. Then I read 40 days to Bespin. To say that it took my breath away was a huge understatement. If I could write this is exactly what I would have put down on paper. The characters written so beautifully with such love & knowledge. I continued the whole saga unto l the small hours. Now I eagerly await the next chapter - a princess and a guy like him. Everyone who loves these characters should read this. If there were a Pulitzer price for fan fiction Leela would win it. I could kiss her for giving the world this beautifully written love story about my favourite characters. These should be in a book so that I could lovingly turn the pages every night - am I allowed to print them?. Cannot praise this story thread any higher except to say it's perfect & I will read again and again, until perhaps one day I find my own Han Solo. Thank you leela you gave made a 47 year old SW loving crazy cat lady immensely happy! Xxxxx

I really enjoyed this story; watching them slowly accept what they want...it is really good.

Just like Han and Leia, I don't want this journey to end. Thank you for sharing the gift of your writing. I will keep coming back to this book again and again.

Now you've got me wishing for an AU where they *do* run away together to the Rim. Love how they talked each other through their fears about life and their future when they return.

BTW, near the end of chapter 8, you used the words, "depth of feeling," to describe H&L's emotions, the exact words I used in my review of chapter 7. I *swear* I hadn't read ahead with those words sticking in my head. Anyway... Didn't want you to think I was lifting your words for my own review. Loving this book so much!
