Reviews for The Not Quite Love Letters
Guest chapter 19 . 9/30/2019
PLEASE write more! This is hands down the best Star Wars fanfic ever.
rebecca-in-blue chapter 19 . 7/9/2019
I can't quite tell whether this story is meant to be over or not, but after this long, I'm not expecting to see an update. But I loved reading this fic while it lasted, and I love that you brought them up to that kiss in Empire, which I think was a good stopping point whether you intended it or not. Wonderful work - I'll be recommending this at my forum! :)
rebecca-in-blue chapter 13 . 7/2/2019
I love Leia's journal entry wondering how *everyone* knew that she was in love with Han before she did! Comparing herself to 3PO is a good touch, too. Poor Luke getting ice thrown at him, though. What a saint he is to put up with all of Han and Leia's nonsense. Glad Han seems to have solved the food scarcity problem for now!
rebecca-in-blue chapter 12 . 6/25/2019
I love that journal entry from Leia at the beginning; how her memory of first seeing Vader and the Alderaan's destruction get mixed up is so powerful. I also love that ending, with her getting so determined to tell Han how she feels, but then not even getting out one word - haha, the poor girl has got it bad! So funny with Han having somebody watch Leia "for practical reasons only" - oh, yeah right, Han. His imagined line at explaining her death made me lol, too!
rebecca-in-blue chapter 11 . 6/23/2019
I love the talk about Luke in the first part of this chapter. Acting mopey and offering to step out of Han's way is so touching and awkward at the same time. Although I don't know what Leia was thinking to tell him she was in love with Han *while* she was kissing him. And this is all before she kisses him on Hoth, too. Geez, what a lot he has to put up with from these two. Leia getting shot was a twist that I didn't expect, but I did love Luke's last line in that meeting!
rebecca-in-blue chapter 10 . 6/18/2019
I love Leia's journal entry about "the day it happened." It's so universal and easily relatable approaching the anniversary of anything bad, and I think it's a good dose of angst in the midst of this rather silly chapter. Whispering "Solo" in Leia's ear and locking them in the 'fresher together both seem kinda far-fetched for the guys. I feel like their bet is starting to take over the story, and I hope it'll move back into the background soon.
rebecca-in-blue chapter 8 . 6/11/2019
Oh, man, I think my favorite part of this chapter is Wes trying to nudge Han and Leia together to keep his bet alive. I lol'ed so hard at him thinking that Han would ever type "the Princess Leia and myself" (haha, yeah right) and Luke trying not to get involved. I can just see him (and probably Chewie too) being the only one on the base who stays out of this! I loved their toothpaste fight, and what a sad, somber ending note with the whole town going up in the explosion. But I have a feeling this tragedy will bring them closer together.
rebecca-in-blue chapter 7 . 6/4/2019
Haha, this was a fun chapter. I love their different accounts of the beach party. It reminds me so much of the "Summer Lovin" number from Grease and how the boy and girl each recounted things differently. I also love that Han was apparently trying to cook/bake before he and Leia had their flour fight. That and his "Back off... I have to do something" comment are interesting bits to me.
rebecca-in-blue chapter 6 . 5/28/2019
Having Janson type everything out is such a clever way to convey what went on during the debate, and I really loved Han's journal about waking up and enjoying the view of Leia sleeping - so sweet without being out-of-character. Janson's placing bets on them at the end made me lol so hard - when you're fighting the Empire, I guess you have to find laughs wherever you can!
rebecca-in-blue chapter 5 . 5/21/2019
This is a great chapter on so many fronts. Leia's outrage and moral dilemma over not wanting to sign off on the Council's policy for Han. Her failed attempt at a fun slumber party that turns into angst that turns into her going to Han. I love how you bring up that she is more comfortable around Luke in certain ways. And what a brilliant, suspenseful ending!
rebecca-in-blue chapter 4 . 5/14/2019
What a brilliant chapter on so many fronts. I love the way you balance out drama, like how Leia's psyche is still being effected just by photos of Vader, with humor and romance. Mon Mothma giving out kisses and Han's brawl with the businessman are both so much fun. I'm curious to see what his plan is to win back Leia now - I can't believe he thinks he isn't jealous!
rebecca-in-blue chapter 3 . 5/7/2019
Oh, this is so clever and fun. How like Leia to chafe at getting orders instead of giving them, and how hilarious that she pays for it by getting stuck with Han. Their argument and Han's apology here is so funny, so touching, and so *them* I'm curious to know what Chewbacca thinks of these two carrying on. :)
rebecca-in-blue chapter 2 . 4/30/2019
Haha, I love the snippets of different messages that open this chapter, and how they create a guessing game about exactly what happened. I didn't get the twist of the High Council's "rather brainless," poorly worded rule, so the reveal that everyone, not just Leia, was throwing terminals through windows made me lol. Leia's journal entry is so poignant and well-written (I think she has more of a poet in her than she'd ever admit) and I loved hearing her impressions of Han and Luke at this point.
rebecca-in-blue chapter 1 . 4/23/2019
What a brilliant first chapter. I especially love the contrast between Leia's journal sad entry about Alderaan's destruction and the typically blunt, funny way Han summarizes A New Hope. You write each of their voices well, and I found the different tones well balanced (like the Force, haha), rather than jarring. Looking forward to the rest of this.
