Another 'I didn't like the finale storyline so I wrote my own' story. I'm not ignoring all of it, just the parts that I really didn't like.

I'm one of those people who absolutely hated the finale and its wicked messages about love, women & happiness.

before saying 'i love you' for the first time, robin went through the usual stages.

She should be happy, excited. She was told she could never have children; this should be their miracle child, the universe smiling down on them. They should be celebrating.

Barney thinks that he might be able to help Robin, Ted's ex-girlfriend, through the difficult time she is going through. But is he really? Or is he just making matters worse? And what would Ted say if he knew about his bro's agenda? Adult topics.

Robin began to wonder if this would always be her life, this constant in between of being in love with Barney. It seemed no matter where she went, or for how long, there was never enough time or distance that took her away from this bizarre tug of war. He burned her, marked her, made her his in ways that she never thought possible and maybe, if she didn't chicken out of this at the very beginning, maybe she would still be in flames, deep into his embraces, melting the air around her. Lily was an expert at breaking up couples, but what if she never fed Ted and Robin the line that led to their breakup? An AU where Ted and Robin married, but life is not working out as planned. *Please note: this story was started prefinale, and was meant to show how ridiculous Ted and Robin are as a couple.
