Author has written 42 stories for Harry Potter. I fell in love with world of Harry Potter from the moment I opened the first novel in the series (at the suggestion of a Very Important Scholar and perhaps the smartest person I know, other than my father.) I began writing fan fiction only in 2010, and I haven't looked back since. The brilliant and flawed “Sage of Baltimore,” H. L. Menken, once wrote: “What are the hallmarks of a competent writer of fiction? The first, it seems to me, is that he should be immensely interested in human beings, and have an eye sharp enough to see into them, and a hand clever enough to draw them as they are. The second is that he should be able to set them in imaginary situations which display the contents of their psyches effectively, and so carry his reader swiftly and pleasantly from point to point of what is called a good story.” (The American Mercury - May 1933, p. 136) I quite agree, and that’s what I try to do in my fiction. I love to write McGonagall. Rowling gave us just enough about her to intrigue me but left the juicy details to the reader's (and fanfic writer's!) imagination. Being dull and unimaginative, I tend to pair her with that git Dumbledore, but the poor thing doesn't seem to get much joy out of it. (I sighed a bit of relief on Minerva's behalf when Rowling told us, essentially, that he's just an old queen with bad taste.) I also like the McGonagall/Snape pairing quite a lot. Tall, dark, and snarky is a treat my version of Minerva can't seem to resist. I like to read femslashy Minerva stories (she's too awesome to keep herself for just one gender). I like to fit my stories into the corners of canon (book canon, that is; I tend to ignore that Pottermore unpleasantness), and I'm most interested reading stories that do the same. The fics I write and rec may contain adult themes, and I will always warn for references to non-con, graphic violence, bestiality, incest, or underage sex. I rate my stories conservatively, and I don't warn for homosexual relationships or threesomes/moresomes, unless the story contains one of the aforementioned elements. I have been very impressed with the quality of some of the writing I’ve found here, and I hope that my own contributions provide a bit of the entertainment and diversion I derive from reading the stories of other, more talented, storytellers.
