Author has written 36 stories for Hetalia - Axis Powers, Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu-Gi-Oh GX, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V. About me I have a tumblr at sixweekoldhedgehog (I mostly spam Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, with some DM, Persona 4 and other random reblogs.) I love escapism, being a roleplayer and Trekkie, and fanfic feeds into that. I allegedly write for stress relief, but it seems to do the opposite lately! I am trying to improve, but it's a slow and painful process. Kind and encouraging reviews are appreciated. Particularly if you favourite something. Equally tell me what didn't work for you. My profile pic is a commission made for me by hidakaartblog on tumblr. Oh, and the name is supposed to be kind of "hedgehog girl". Because of my tendency to curl up when threatened. My fandoms Hetalia got me started on this. My first fanfic was started for the 2009 NaNoWriMo, thinking that if I didn't have to come up with Characters, the Plot part would be that much easier. Sadly this wasn't true and I only managed three chapters in the month. This was the start of The Cabinet of Dr Héderváry which is on indefinite hiatus. Yu-Gi-Oh! is my strongest fanfic love. I started by watching the Abridged series, which prompted me to track down the manga, and then I was hooked. Had steered clear for ages because I thought it was just that kid with the hair and the card games, and I wasn't expecting it to actually have Plot and Characters... I love that all the characters have reasons for being the way they are, and that you can track the impact they have on each other as time passes. GX... ah, GX. I really wasn't expecting to love it as much as I ended up doing. It was a real struggle to force myself through most of the first two seasons in the dub. But it's kind of like Babylon 5 in that you have to sit through a bunch of stuff to make the rest of it make sense, and when you get to season 3 it's just this massive series of gut-punches, with season 4 devoted to recovery. That show's really underrated in the fandom, which is sad. Subs are available legally free on Crunchyroll now, please give it a go! And to anyone who won't watch it because it doesn't have Ancient Egyptian mythology, and it doesn't start off totally grimdark, please go and read the manga. Trust me, you'll love it. Star Trek was I guess my first fandom. Original series had so much compassion. I have yet to write for it though. My ships I go for character interactions more than smut (you won't see anything explicit here, partly because I can't write the stuff and don't want to), and I'll ship anything if you've got a good rationale for it (or if it's just crack-tastic). If I say I ship something that can also mean non-romantically, I just like exploring their relationship, whatever that may be. I like to see in-character, could-be-canon writing (something I wish I could do myself) but I'll forgive a lot of "sins" if there's heart. My favourites (there are many others but cut for length): Giripan (Hetalia) - these two just fit well together, and I can't see Japan relaxing with anyone else. They do that thing of complementing each other so the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Gerita (Hetalia) - because I'm a sucker for fluff. Prideshipping (YGO) - didn't see this until I watched Season 0 and re-read the manga, and then I couldn't stop seeing it. There's a respect there that comes as close to friendship as is likely to be comfortable for Seto (assuming Kisara doesn't get reincarnated like the rest of 'em) and ffffff the power struggles... Tendershipping (YGO) is back on the list thanks to writing it with Borath. I'm very picky about how it's done, but when it's right, it melts my heart. Stormshipping (YGO GX) - OTP OF ALL OTPs. I am making it my mission to spread love of this pairing. The world must come to understand their adorkability. I know, I know, Manjoume-loves-Asuka is canon, but he'd treat her like a princess and then she'd either ignore him or walk all over him. (Plus there's the whole Judai thing.) Manjoume needs someone who's going to appreciate him and just let him chill, and Fubuki does that - about the only person who does. And Manjoume's about the only person that doesn't treat Fubuki like he's annoying. Tealshipping (YGO GX) - I love Johan's trolling as a counterpoint to Ryo's serious nature. I just can't seem to get what's in my head down on paper. One day I will make this pairing work. I don't really ship Star Trek as I grew up watching it, so what happened on screen was all there was, pretty much. So it's Spock/Chapel and Scotty/Uhura. Squicks I won't go for abuse or non-con in a romantic relationship. Gifts / trades Sir H. Sol-Solis wrote "Bashful and Beloved" - a panoply of baroque romance. Hetalia - GerIta. I would say more, but my words are feeble in comparison. http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/7037971/1/Bashful_and_Beloved Z. Quill wrote "Corporate Children" - an encounter between Kyoya and Seto gives a glimpse into their disparate futures. Crossover - Yu-Gi-Oh! and Ouran High School Host Club. Wonderfully simple storytelling. http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/7372100/1/ Jonouchi Katsuya wrote "Alone in a Dorm Room" - stormshipping tease. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX - Manjoume and Fubuki. Written with the battle cry "F* THE WORLD, FREE SHIPPING, GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR"! http://www.fanfiction.ws/s/7864457/1/Alone_in_a_Dorm_Room Special Editions I had so much fun writing Battle City Mania! that I decided to stick it on my tumblr with notes and links to all my inspirations / references. fanfic dot net eats the link, but if you look up the "special edition fic" tag on sixweekoldhedgehog's tumblr it's the last post in there! I also did another for "Eternity in your eyes", a chapter of Quantum Entanglement. |
