Author has written 11 stories for Fullmetal Alchemist, Legend of Zelda, Kick-Ass, Frozen, Mass Effect, and Life is Strange. Hi, my name's Grace, also known as NuqueerWarhead, previously Solynna. I'm a college graduate with a degree in psychology. For most of my life I was an honors student interested in the sciences - I've written a lot of papers. In one of my courses, where we did anonymous peer reviews (we would be randomly assigned someone else's paper with no name and would return our reviews with no name), I reviewed an absolutely terrible paper. I pointed out every single flaw, and gave as many suggestions on how to improve it as I could. My review was longer than the actual paper. The next class, one of my classmates was angry about how her reviewer trashed her paper. She said she'd find out who her reviewer was and kill them. At the time, I thought she was joking. She was not. She spent the weekend in jail after someone else called the cops on her. Please understand that I don't want to be mean, I just want to give honest, constructive criticism. Here's what's wrong, here's how to fix it. That's the kind of review I want to receive, so that's the kind of review I give. Some people can't handle it, though, so if you've written something that really needs improvement, I usually won't leave a review unless you ask for it. On the flip side, you really cannot hurt my feelings by leaving a negative review, unless you say something sexist, homophobic, racist, or something like that. And even then, I have a pretty strong stomach. One reviewer called me "disgusting" because I interpreted a character as being lesbian. As far as hate speech goes, that's laughably tame - I've been called worse by my Congressman. But to be honest, I'm not very committed to writing, so if I've left something unfinished, it's staying unfinished. And for each of the stories I've posted here, I've thought of numerous improvements, none of which will be implemented. I can write well when I want to, but there's a point where my inspiration is outweighed by my impatience. That point is usually two-thirds of the way through. |
