Man, that was really good. The dialogue is harp and feels natural. Ed is still the same hot-head, but he's wiser. I could see this as canon

This one feels very much interlude-y. I like it, though. Especially Ed's reflection on what it felt like to lose his alchemy. That was such an important realization and you pegged it. :D

i think he could find both duty and happiness to be one :)

Havoc and Catalina married and having four kids? : D I think that seriously just made my night! That is just, the greatest thought ever!
Anyhoo, back to the story, so again the characterization was amazing, and I really loved Jean and Ed's conversation in the beginning, about their wives and Riza, so funny! X D And I also love how Roy and Ed sat goodnight to each other, oh that was great!

Everything is completely believable and I agree with everything you said in you're A.N. as well. Again, loved it, it was very well done!

By the way, is there a sequel to this? Just wondering. : )

I honestly only read this because I went to read Homecoming and saw that it was a continuation of this one and I like to read things in order even if people tell me I don't need to, but this was quite brilliant. I loved the look into why they did what they did.

Oh, so this is where the Interior Minister job offer (mentioned and accepted in Homecoming)was from! It's just so sad that Havoc needs a cane to be able to walk, while Roy can see with his eyes without a problem... His hands are annoying sometimes, though... But finally! A FMA fanfic writer who has great plots and equally great grammar! Why is it that there are certain fics with nice storylines but horrible sentence structures?... Oh well... Keep on writing and keep on being awesome (or as Ed would say, "badass" :P)!

I absolutely love the way you write the characters interacting with each other. You had me when you referred to Mustang as Prime Minister. I literally squealed in delight. Fuhrer Mustang fanfics are so common and make it seem like that's the ultimate happy ending for Mustang. So reading something like this is so refreshing because it's exactly how I imagine Mustang's future to be like. Also, the conversation between Ed and Mustang is just so in character and doesn't fall away to cheap insults. Very well written!
