![]() Author has written 8 stories for The Santa Clause, and Mentalist. Olá! Eu sou SafyreSky (she/her). Call me Dani! :) Where I'm at: internally screaming like 24/6 Icon: The one and only wintery dork herself, Jacqueline "Jacquie" Frost, prolly the cutest Jacquie I have EVER drawn Things to know: Big cartoon lover! And Fantasy lover, too. Most writing does include OCs and extensive fantasy elements! I like to chat, I must apologize in advance for my long ass authors notes and long replies to lovely reviews :p. I like to comply with canon a LOT and try to bend it to fit my views. I'm generally not a fan of messing with canon too much, unless it fucking sucks (like how PotC 5 took everything established in 1-3, as well as the extensive book universe, and yeeted it out the window? Yeah, fuck that, one day I'll rewrite it). I do swear a LOT but try to keep it out of most of my stories. If you ever wanna reach out, chat, or get in touch with me any way, please do! Again, love to chat and more than happy to answer story questions on platforms I'm more active on, such as: Tumblr: @safyresky (100% guarantee for me to reply there) Twitter: @SafyreSky FictionPress: SafyreSky Stories The Santa Clause Meet The Frosts [Complete] While Jack Frost is busy up North making another mess, Mother Nature finds herself a tad overwhelmed with the mess he's already made. She can't do it all alone. Unfortunately for her that means going right to Jack's family to get the help she needs, and dredging up the messy past. Takes place during SC3. Prequel (of sorts) to Crystal Springs. I always want to call it an origin story but tbh, it isn't really an origin story in the sense of "here's how Jack became Jack", it's an origin in the sense of "check it out, he's got a MOM and DAD and SIBLINGS and guess what? There's ANGST INVOLVED! It's a prequel I had to write before writing Crystal Springs because when I created the Frosts, there was a lot of discombobulation with how they interacted, and they were in no way ready to attempt to reach out to an estranged son. So Meet the Frosts was written, outlining the issues each character had, bringing them all together to talk about said issues, and knit them together tightly in order to make them ready for Jack! I highly recommend reading it before Crystal Springs, though it can be read as a stand alone and after the fact. I tried to have everything recapped in CS in such a way that you'd know what happened, but wouldn't be overwhelmed with the plot of MtF suddenly :p Reflections [Complete; One-Shot] Jack Frost was about to freeze Lucy, when he changed his mind. What caused him to change his mind? (One-Shot/Drabble. Literally under 200 words [maybe]. Takes place during said scene in SC3. K plus because the word 'blood' is used once. Better safe than sorry). While working on MTF I was watching TSC3 again and then I noticed him hesitate and thought why would he do that? He'd freeze Santa if he could get away with it! And then I found my explanation with my OC's. Crystal Springs [Rewrite Ongoing; Updated to Chapter 23. Edit Round 3 Ongoing: Done to Chapter 10] It's been nearly a year since the Thaw and things are looking...not so great. Jack's powers have shorted and the Dome covering the North Pole is melting. The solution? Enacting the Legate Law, bringing Jack and the sister he hurt so many years ago together again. When his sister seems to be on the fritz as well, and a new threat begins to emerge, saving the North Pole from utter destruction just got a little more…complicated. Rewritten featuring Chapter titles now! This is like, my magnum opus tbh. It focuses on Jack Frost, who has been thawed, and in my canon, the change is permanent. An unfortunate side-effect seems to have made itself known however: Jack's powers seem to have shorted out (Think Zuko in Book 3 of Avatar: the Last Airbender). He hides it very well, until the Dome starts to melt. By October, everyone is suspecting him of going back to his old ways. Santa, concerned for his friend, calls a meeting in November and Jack reveals the truth to the Council: he's powerless, which is why the Dome has begun to melt in a process known as the Deliquesce. They decide to enact the Legate Law, a law in which every Legendary (with the exception of Santa Claus) must have a second-in-command, known as a Legate, to step in and take over their duties should something happen to the Legend. They call in Jack's Legate: his sister, Jacqueline, which begins Jack's quest to reunite with the family he left and hurt so long ago. Things are going alright until Jacqueline starts experiencing some dark memory lapses...and lashing out physically, with no recollection of doing so. Larger forces seem to be at play here, larger than anyone up North could have ever imagined. Saving the North Pole, Christmas, and all of magical existence as they know it just got a little bit...complicated. The Twelve Years of Frostmas [In Progress; Year Nine up, finally] Nobody but he and I knew the truth. Jack wasn't supposed to be Santa; I wasn't supposed to be Jack Frost. He thought being Santa would fix everything-but he was horribly mistaken. My take on Jack's reign as Santa during those Twelve years between TSC and TSC 3 when Jack pulls the Escape Clause, told from Jacqueline's point of view. One of the many questions during my rebuilding of Jacqueline and watching of TSC3 was who was Jack Frost when Jack was Santa? The answer: my OC, his sister Jacqueline (one of the questions that led to her creation tbh). Told from her POV many years after Crystal Springs, Jacqueline documents the downward spiral of Jack--and herself--and how the Pole went from how we all know and love it to a theme park. Angry Jacqueline and Sassy Santa!Jack, basically. It's my little treat to myself, I love writing angry Jacquie and exploring the we-don't-forgive-you path of all the Frosts in regards to Jack. Especially with Jacqueline. The chapters are fairly long since I'm a diva when it comes to aesthetics--I love the 1 chapter is 1 year thing I have going on here and refuse to change it (especially eight and a half years in, in case anyone was wondering how year nine is going! Hopefully I can have it ready for you all in December!) Smiles [One-Shot Library; in progress] "Smile! Make this memory a good one!" [A giant one-shot dump focusing on Jack and his family, with occasional other character appearances]. I get a lot of wacky ideas when it comes to Jack and his family, once they've reconnected. Smiles is a place for me to put all of those little one-shots! Here's a table of contents of sorts ;) 1. Laundry Day: Jack neglected to do his laundry. The result? Really old clothes that prove to be a source of amusement for everyone. 2. Bacon: When Jacqueline once told Elle that Fino and Jack literally fought for the last piece of bacon, she meant it... 3. Movie Night: Jack is once again complaining about his lack of holiday TV specials. Much to Jacqueline's glee, she has a movie that may finally stop his seasonal complaining... 4. Winter's Birthday I-The Idea: Now that the family is all together again, Blaise wants to do something special for Winter's birthday. Enlisting Jack's help, they decide to bring back Winterfest, an ancient city wide festival to welcome the winter season...though they only have 8 hours. What could possibly go wrong? [Takes place in 2008] 5. Winter's Birthday II-The Plan: Enlisting the help of his siblings, Jack hatches a plan to help keep Winter distracted while Blaise arranges Winterfest. 6. When Bernard Met Jacqueline: The year is 526 CE. The Legate Law has been created and Bernard just so happens to meet one of the tiny Legates. Friendship sure does come from the strangest of places, huh? 7. They Said It Couldn't Be Done: A few weeks after the meeting that inaugurated the Legates, a young Jack Frost visits Mother Nature, looking for a way to unfreeze and finding out that it can't be done. My answer to the question of "who are they?" when Jack says that they said it couldn't be done. 8. Mistletoe: Based on a prompt over on tumblr. At the year end Christmas party, Jacqueline's romance game is challenged when Jack notices her getting cozy with Cupid's Legate, Dite. 9. Monopoly: In which Jack is a sore winner, Jacqueline is a sore loser, Dite is stressed, and Elle is regretting agreeing to test the animosity-free Monopoly game they've developed herself. 10. Mouse Trap: Jack and Santa's prank war has gone a little too far. Finding themselves in a predicament, Jack calls Jacqueline over to help the two Legends out of this latest prank. 11. Away With The Fae: Charlie is Stressed, and Jacqueline knows exactly what will help him wind down...a night out with the Legates! Join Charlie the day after as he tries to piece together what happened, and why he now has $1000 (in cash), new running shoes, and...red hair dye? [tw: alcohol and swearing] 12. The Clifton Manor Incident: England, 1732. Jacqueline has a life-changing realization one night, indirectly causing Bernard's mission from Santa to go a little bit awry. (Basically, Jacqueline and Bernard have a rough night, in which they may or may not accidentally start a secret society hell-bent on hunting myths and legends. Which may come back to bite them in the butt centuries later...who's to say! ;) 13. The Santa Dump: Jack and Santa crash the sleigh on Christmas Eve. 14. The Clifton Society Incident: Jacqueline and Charlie are sent on an official Legate Mission to rescue their Legendary counterparts. Head Cannons The Legate Law: Every magibean who has earned a seat on the Council of Legendary Figures is required to have a second-in-command, known as a Legate, to step in at a moment's notice should anything happen to a Legendary Figure, be it by accident or design. Legates should be able to wield the legendary power that the Legends can wield, and should bare some similarity to the Legend in question so as not to confuse mortals in case of accidental exposure (because how else will our stories spread?). The only exception to this Law is Legendary Figure "Santa Claus", due to "The Santa Clause" being in place a couple of hundred years prior to the proposal and passing of the Legate Law. MELT's (Magical Education Level Tests): Magical Education Level Tests. They are a requirement for those Mother Nature looks to for help in regards to the balance of nature, as well as those who sit on the Council. Each magibean is assigned a level based on their performance with their element. The levels are, in order: Able, Proficient, Distinguished, Respected, Master, Renowned, Grand-Master, and Legendary. This way, if a situation arises in which Mother Nature needs help, she can asses the situation, give it a level, and match the magibean to the situation. Note on Jacqueline and the Frosts: Jacqueline Frost ended up being an OC that a few people love and ended up borrowing. If you would like to use her or any characters or concepts of mine please, message me and ask! I'd be more than happy to give permissions if I know how you will be using them, what scenario, etc! Here's a bit of a canon timeline for the Frost family, including the works in which they are used by other lovely authors! I managed to fit them all together in a comprehensible timeline, ha.
The Mentalist Of Couches and Teacups [Complete; One-Shot] Having finally gotten his couch back, Lisbon thinks it needs one more thing to make Jane feel at home. [Fluff. Originally posted on tumblr, thought I'd share it here. A possible "What if?" for after White Lines. Jisbon]. For some odd reason I've been barfing up Jisbon fluff, which I find hilarious because A) I ship them really hard and B) I can never get characters right personality wise in TV shows. The Language of Flowers [Complete; One-Shot] Lisbon walks into the FBI one morning to discover a bouquet of flowers—with no name, no letter—on her desk. When the flowers keep appearing, she's determined to figure out who's sending them--with a little help from Jane [Jisbon. Fluff. Really Long one-shot.] I saw a gif of PJ picking the flowers in White Lines and someone talking about how hurt Lisbon must still feel and then this long piece of fluff happened. Scout's Honour [Complete; One-Shot] Kim Fischer finds herself an unlikely confidante and quite possibly, a friend in one Teresa Lisbon. [Post-Black Helicopters; definite spoilers. KimxTeresa Friendship]. Scout's Honour documents the slowly blooming awkward friendship between Kim and Teresa. After watching Black Helicopters I thought that they'd be great friends, and their potential friendship is really amusing to me! I use to have a sort of backstory for Fischer but honestly I totally forgot it. So now Scout's Honour is just a one shot, sorry pals :) Frostmas Year Six AN: My heart is racing, I finished year six like 10 minutes ago (1:48 AM December 16th, 2016) and it is 14188 words. I am honestly so sorry about the length and hope that if anything, it is at least a decent apology for the long break in updates. Year Six took me much longer than I should've to write, because I had to rewrite the bit of Year Six that I already had written prior to the death of my laptop. I started rewriting it when I got mad at myself for being so sad in August, but then ran out of steam and just couldn't do it because I kept comparing it to what I remembered having already written, and thought that it was not as good as it originally was and never would be. It wasn't until I got back to Kingston, fixed my prescription and began taking the time I needed to help myself feel better (seriously my Summer was a train wreck) that I was able to slowly trudge through what I began to call the hump--everything I had already written and had to rewrite. After getting through the semester, in November I began planning the Years again. And I was determined to get through the hump. I had already written stuff for Year SEVEN and had Year Eight basically written in full in note form. I just had to get through the hump. And so by the first week of December, I did it! And then just had all the new content to write...which was a LOT especially because Jacqueline decided to break into Bernard's house! I promise, Year Seven won't be as delayed as Year Six. And I really hope you enjoyed all 14k of that Chapter! And most importantly thank you for sticking around this long, it really means a lot to me :D MENTALIST FANFIC PSA In regards to The Mentalist, I won't be posting multi chapter fics unless I really get inspired. Those few pieces of fluff were written right when inspiration hit; they will also be STAYING ONESHOTS. Please, don't ask me for more chapters or more writing, because I don't know if I'll be able to constantly write the Mentalist. The characters are too perfectly done, I wouldn't want to butcher them with forced writing. I DO APPRECIATE THE LOVELY FEEDBACK AND WANTS FOR MORE, THOUGH! And I would love to write more! I just can't write super well for the Mentalist unless I'm very inspired, and I'd much rather have them in character than, you know, have many stories that don't quite fit their canon characterisation. Thanks for taking the time to read all this nonsense :D. Here, enjoy the story box! Feel free to PM me, leave reviews, give feedback, etc, etc--I love hearing from readers and fellow writers! |
