![]() Author has written 11 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender. WOOT! AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER FINALLY GOT ACKNOWLEDGED BY NICKELODEON!! -celebrates ridiculously- Welcome to my profile! I don't know how you got here (reading one of my stories, finding my name somewhere else), but I'm glad. Anyway, I figured that it's time I updated my profile, so that's why I'm here. Yeah, no kidding. ;) About Me: Age: 15 Gender: Female Fandom(s): Avatar: The Last Airbender and the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer (though I only write for one) I love: God, Avatar: The Last Airbender, American Idol, David Archuleta, the Twilight series, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, writing, reading, watching ATLA vids on , sapphire (as a color, gem, and word), the idea of fate, long words, English, Geography, quotes, music, my iPod, my computer, Jeopardy!, black cats, Mulan, fried rice, peppermints, my friends, my country, Tokka (ship!), Toph, Sokka, Danny Phantom, House, the Closer, Burn Notice (comes back this summer!), American Idol, Simon Cowell, sticky notes, wolves, James Bond, David Archuleta, Anthony Horowitz (author), Chris Wooding (author), J. Energy drinks. ;) I hate (okay, hate is a strong word - but I strongly dislike): Idiots who don't appreciate literature, the song Soulja Boy Tell 'Em (or whatever the heck it's called), pointless cussing, incredibly stupid endings (i.e., The Hulk -movie-, and Eclipse, the third book in the Twilight series), floppy discs, ginormous one-page calendars, the word fetish, tiny scissors, fast food, total pessimists, the song Dear Mr. President by Pink (I could rant for days!), essays, wrists, the smell of blood, the idea of having an IV in my wrist, the thought of not being able to take care of myself when I'm really old, guilt, people who hate country music without having a legitimate reason, people who feel the need to be the center of attention, egocentrics, and people who come up with idiotic policies. Amazing Bands/Artists: Saving Jane, Bowling for Soup, Breaking Benjamin, The All-American Rejects, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, P.O.D, Paramore, Fergie, Boys Like Girls, Daughtry, Skillet, The Veronicas, Superchick, Story of the Year, American HiFi, FeFe Dobson, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Lonestar, Rascal Flatts, Cascada, Nickelback, Christina Aguilera, Three Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, 30 Seconds to Mars, Maroon 5, Evanescence, Elliott Yamin, Jessie Daniels, Linkin Park, The Offspring, Fall Out Boy, Weird Al, My Chemical Romance, Michelle Branch, Good Charlotte, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Alan Jackson, Sum 41, Taylor Swift, LeAnn Rimes, Trapt, Red, Pillar, Fort Minor, Shinedown, some 2Pac and Eminem (there's the rap), and more. David Archuleta, too - even though he's only a contestant on American Idol. Ships: Tokka, Kataang, and Maiko (ATLA); Jasper x Alice, Jacob x Bella (Twilight) Writing Facts: 100,000th Word: Until (Reached in Strength in Falling, Installment Six: Components) I just reached my one-hundred thousandth word. I'm ecstatic. =D I'll probably write something to celebrate... hm. Fanfiction Works: Basic Stats: 10 stories, 7 complete, 3 in-progress (see below) Shattering the Pieces: Sequel to When Adventure Calls. A man awakens an ancient race of benders in order to take over the world while seeking to destroy the Avatar and friends in the process. I've planned it out up to chapter twenty, and it gets weirder than it is, if you're curious. I'm still playing with the ending, but we'll just see how it goes. Chapter 7 is up, and Chapter 8 is being re-edited. I'll keep this updated reguarly, so if you ever want to know what stage a chapter is in, you can check back here. I'm having a minor case of writer's block due to my American Idol addiction, but I should be back in the swing of things soon enough. Strength in Falling: Tokka oneshot series. So far I'm planning to write fifty-two installments and update weekly, and that's unlikely to change. It's, you know, so I can get the Tokka out of my system and try to focus in other areas (because while I love Toph and Sokka to death, apparently there are other characters in the show. Who knew?). The installments will range from AU to surreal to focusing on every topic I can possibly think of (but mostly Toph and her bending, and Sokka and his sword, and them loving or having loved each other). There's death, new life, uh... there's a lot of stuff. The next couple of installments have already been written, if you're wondering. Installment Seven has been posted. The Innocence of Younger Days: ON HIATUS (though I have neglected to put that in the description). There are three installments up and the final two will come eventually, when I'm in the mood to write about a younger Toph and Zuko. I've started writing both of them innumerable times, but I can't stay on topic to save my life. Aang's, Sokka's, and Katara's installments are posted, however, and I've pretty happy with them. Upcoming Projects: I have upcoming stuff! Whoo-hoo! Aside from the continuance of Shattering the Pieces and Strength in Falling (and IoYD if I ever get the proper inspiration), this is what I've got coming up: Chapter Fic: I shall not reveal details just yet, but I've written a few chapters of another chapter fic (one that's been forming in my head for quite sometime), and I'm planning to post that soon. Soon is like, within the next two months. But soon nonetheless. I've chosen a title for it, and I'll probably post a brief synopsis right before I post it. Currently I shall tell you that it's Tokka, it takes place 10 years in the future, and at least one canon character dies. Oneshot(s): I have several oneshot ideas that refuse to be written, mostly because I know what I want them to say but the words just don't come whenever I sit down to write. Hopefully I'll be able to get something planned out/written pretty soon, but we'll see. Other: I'm in a contest! Or, you know, my entry will be up soon, and then I'll officially be a contest participator. Anyway. Quotes: "Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood." -Marie Curie "The key to any game is to use your strengths and hide your weaknesses." -Paul Westphal "Evil (ignorance) is like a shadow. It has no real substance of its own, only a lack of light. You cannot cause a shadow to disappear by trying to fight it, stamp on it, by railing against it, or any other form of emotional or physical resistance. In order to cause a shadow to disappear, you must shine light on it." -Shakti Gawain "These violent delights have violent ends, and in their triumph die, like fire and powder, which, as they kiss, consume." -William Shakspeare, Romeo and Juliet, Act II Scene 3 Lyrics: "The night is so long when everything's wrong, if you give me your hand I will help you hold on..." -Skillet, The Last Night "She had a need to feel the thunder, to chase the lightning from the sky, to watch a storm with all its wonder raging in her lover's eyes... she had to ride the heat of passion, like a comet burning bright, rushing headlong in the wind - now where only dreams have been - burning both ends of the night..." -Garth Brooks, That Summer (the whole song has beautiful lyrics, really) "You used to captivate me by your resonating light, now I'm bound by the life you left behind... your face - it haunts my once pleasant dreams, your voice - it chased away all the sanity in me..." -Evanescence, My Immortal (beautiful song) "Hold it together, birds of a feather, nothing but lies and crooked wings, I have the answer, spreading the cancer, you are the faith inside me - no, don't leave me to die here, help me survive here - alone, don't remember, remember..." -Breaking Benjamin, Evil Angel Suggestions: Write reviews. Authors like them. It encourages writers to do what they do best, and for some it gives incentive to post more often. Short reviews are nice. Long, well-thought-out reviews that give positive feedback and a decent amount of criticism are ideal and pretty dang awesome because they make the writer happy and it gives them something to work on, but if you like a story, review and say at least that. Read a book or two. :) Random Commentary: I would rant about my bitter and soul-blackening hate for Pep Rallies, but you and I have (Tokka!) fanfiction to write. :) American Idol has stolen my life. Seriously. It's interfering with my writing, so I feel conflicted about my feelings. You should watch at least one episode, and then you should pick up your phone and vote for David Archuleta. Maybe, if I listen to him while I write, I'll be able to handle this problem... hm... The new Harry Potter movie is due out right around my birthday (which is awesome), and the Twilight movie is coming around December 12. October-December are going to be the best months EVER. D'you wanna know how I'm going to judge whether or not Sukka/George, Tokka, or Ty Lokka is going to prevail? I'm waiting for whichever one comes up with an awesome made-up term. Remember the Kataango (the Headband) and Maikout (various episodes where Zuko and Mai lock lips)? THAT'S how we'll know who's the REAL victor. I want an amazing made-up term and I want one now. (Yeah, Kataang and Maiko are awesome, you should ship them because they have awesome words). A:TLA Commentary: Nickelodeon is ridiculous. They're releasing the Volume III DVD for Avatar before the episodes are aired in the U.S. I really cannot accurately express my disdain for this brilliant display of idiocy. Now, you! Watch the trailer! Toph: Because she is, in my opinion, the most interesting character and has a ton of potential. I mean, the stories that someone could write with her character are endless, if enough thought and dedication were put into it. The connection that she has with her element is intriguing and the complexity of her character is awe-inspiring. Sokka: Because he has about as much story potential as Toph. I think he's the most complex character in the series, and I think a lot could be done with him story-wise on fanfiction.net and plot-wise in the show (not that he hasn't already been developed extensively). Tokka: Because it's too perfect. Also, I feel like Kataang is inevitable, and Toph is going to end up with someone. Even if Kataang didn't happen, however, Aang is too caught up with his feelings for Katara to feel that way about Toph. Also, Toph definitely isn't his type. Kataang: Because star-crossed lovers pwn all. (Hope I didn't just curse the ship using a Romeo and Juliet reference). Also, they have the Kataango (best made-up word in all the world). How could it not happen? Maiko: Because they basically deserve each other, and she's had a crush on him since childhood. Also, I think a continuance of their relationship could do wonders for the plot of the series so far. Also, they Maikout, which is the best term ever (next to the one mentioned above). Zutara (why not): Because watching Aang not end up with Katara is like getting front row seats to a show where puppies are horribly abused, and it interferes with fate. Yes, it would make an awesome ship, but Aang has been through so much and is still experiencing more than he can handle. He has to have something to show for it - world peace is for the world. He needs something for him, and what's wrong with the Avatar being in love? Sukka (why not): Mostly because it's also called George and no one will tell me why, but also because it would mess with Toph's character and, while I'll admit that it is a good ship, Sokka's so inept and Suki obviously can't take as good of care of herself as he needs. He wants to protect her, but he's already failed. I don't see Toph failing him in that way. She's better for him - and Suki, well, I don't want her to die and I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to some Tokka/Sukka clashing, but I don't really want to face the end result, if that makes any sense. But Avatar seems to be taking care of things early (the Kataang kiss in Day of Black Sun, for instance), so I'm thinking a Toph/Suki/Sokka meeting and confrontation is on the not-so-distant horizon. We'll see. ;) An Embracing Profile If you have any questions, concerns, or you just have something to say, feel free to PM me. |
