Author has written 38 stories for Inheritance Cycle, House, M.D., Fairy Tales, and Harry Potter. Hello!! My penname is AmayaSora, which, for those interested in that kind of thing, means "night rain sky" in Japanese. I, however, am not Japanese, only a typical American college student... well, not entirely "typical," but for this purpose that description works. This is all that I will say about myself, because you probably only came here for more stories. If you're curious, visit my webpage to find out all about the lady who calls herself AmayaSora. I will, however, tell you a little about how I write, so hopefully you'll understand my writing a bit better. A lot of the time, ideas just come to me, just appear in my head. These, however, are skeletal ideas, the roughest of outlines, sometimes a phrase or a particular image. And then it's up to my conscious mind to turn it into something that translates on the page, so others can understand. I'm quite fond of outlining my stories, fleshing them out and going into all the little details before actually writing. I can be quite meticulous about it. Now you may be wondering WHY I write. (Aside from the ideas that nag me and prevent sleep until I write them, of course.) I love the idea that these creations are things only I can make, just me. Even if I've done something before (or someone else has and I don't know it) it will still be a little different and a lot special. Another reason is the joy I get reading these things and feeling myself melting into the story, becoming a character. And then I think, Wow! I made this happen! The unpredictability of when my next idea will strike is an added bonus. Writing allows me to escape my own life, too. If I've had a horrible day/week/month I can sit down and write and live someone else's life for a change. It's my therapy. Finally, since I want to be a professional writer for my career, I soak up all the practice I can get. Related to that last statement: I started this account when I was in middle school. I am now a college English major. And, quite frankly, I am appalled by how juvenile and just generally BAD some of my earlier writing is. I may go back and re-work some of them, but most likely not. This is a bit of an archive, and I can track my growth as a writer here, see improvement and all. So, don't judge me by my earlier work, please. Here are some things about me as a writer you should note: 1) I'm a HUGE perfectionist! Nothing I write is ever good enough, so I'm constantly editing and replacing chapters/stories. Also, as soon as I read a review with corrections or recommendations I make them, literally the next minute. Harry Potter fandom info Favorite Book: Prisoner of Azkaban. Then it's Half-Blood Prince, and then Order of the Phoenix. Favorite Characters: SIRIUS. I love everything about Sirius: he's funny, he's intelligent, he really cares for Harry and all his friends (Harry's and Sirius'), he's daring (he's handsome... no, but regardless.) That aside: Lupin is up there on my list, too. (Marauders in general, actually.) Can't help but think he's awesome as a teacher AND a fighter, and you feel bad about the whole lycanthropy thing. Snape is actually one of the more interesting characters, too; to quote a friend from LJ his is such a "beautifully tragic" story. And of course the Trio, but particularly Harry (which is the point of the series). I'm a big fan of McGonagall (but not writing her), Hermione, and Tonks on the female side of things, although I don't know if I could write those characters very well. I have an affinity for Draco, too, but only in fanfic; in the books he's slimy git. Pairings: Draco/Harry- MY OTP. So, so beautiful. Oddly, the appeal for me is that's it's not canon, LOL, which makes it fun to write; you get to be creative. Plus you have the whole INTENSE RIVALRY dynamic going. And, romantic that I am, the "Love conquers all" lesson can be demonstrated so clearly with them. I don't think it could ever have worked at school, or during the war, but afterwards I can see it working out somehow. Sirius/Remus- This is ridiculously appealing on so many levels. They really care deeply for each other, and I love the best-friends-into-lovers thing. And it's strongly hinted at in canon. Ron/Hermione- I just love them together. Lastly, James/Lily. For those of you who like these and want to read more (and different) writings, you can check out my LiveJournal by clicking here. If you only had time to read one fanfic, I would suggest reading An Endless Night Or, if you don't have that much time, try Soft, chapter 5 in Let Me Tell You 'Bout My Best Friend. "Love is everything. It is the key to life, and its influences are those that move the world." -Ralph Waldo Trine The theme quote of my Alternative Battle series, Those That Move the World. TTMW consists of unconnected oneshots, based on different versions of the final battle, all with the Draco/Harry pairing. You can read them in any order that you like :) So far, TTMW includes: and at least 2 fics I'm still working on. |
