Update:

So... I know it's been awhile. Again. But I finished school - and now it's summer break! That counts for /some/thing, right? Haha... er... okay. Yeah. So now that I'm on vacation, my goal is to finish this multi-chaptered fic. I've decided that this will be my first and only multi-chaptered project - I had never dreamed that it would run for this long.

I am currently playing Re: Chain of Memories (which may lead me back into replaying KHII) to regain a sense of the KH world. Thus, I'll start updating - or rather, revamping - the fic when I feel comfortable again. During the reconstruction phase, the first four or five chapters are going to be re-edited to include more Whiplash scenes.

We'll see where it goes from there. Thank you to those who have stuck around. Much, much love.

Favourite Pairings

Roxas x Axel

There was love, no matter how you look at it. It could be unrequited from Axel’s side, it could be Roxas with the meek one and Axel oh-so-suave, it could be Roxas the harsh one and Axel the affectionate… it always works with them. XD

Naminé x Riku

Crack pairing, and completely not canon (from Riku’s treatment of Naminé in KHII), but still. In another universe, it could work, with Naminé’s patience and Riku’s insecurity issues. Just, in KHII, he treated her exactly like DiZ; a tool to make Sora come back again. There wasn’t any affection there, and besides… Riku knows she’s not real, and he’s not an optimist like Sora. But still, they are adorably cute together. :-)

Tidus x Yuna

An unbelievable pair, if you ask me. They fit each other so well, it could make me cry. You've got cheery, and slightly arrogant, blitzball player meeting the quiet and pacified summoner. Yuna wanted laughs, and Tidus was more than willing to hand them out. They cared about each other - even to the point of sacrifice. (And come on, how many Square games have the main couple kiss? XD)

Malon x Link

Another couple that works. Link has a lot of problems (or would have problems, considering he didn't say anything), and Malon is steady, and has enough patience to help Link. They also met on the basis of friendship, whereas Zelda was based off an alliance to save Hyrule. Link is kinda stoic and quiet - Malon is exuberant and cheerful. And farmwork seems like the kind of work Link could handle - not political crap.

Zack x Aerith

I finished the game, and I'm more in love with this pairing than ever - Zack's final thoughts were of Aerith! He was racing across the world to go see her! Like OMG! My fave lines that are going through my head right now? Zack: "What do you mean final?!" and then "Aerith... wait for me." I think those lines captured the amount of love and passion that Aerith had sparked him in that moment. Plus, they're a natural fit, too: Aerith is careful and patient where Zack is impulsive; he's confident where she doubts. If Aerith wanted to fly, Zack would give her wings. :) It's comforting to know that even though they didn't get to meet each other alive, they were reunited in death. Definitely one of my top faves.

Not-So-Favourite Pairings

(Note: even though I strongly dislike these pairings, you will find some on my favourites... usually, it's because the concept of the fic itself is intriguing, and most often it's AU as well... so in a sense, it's "crack-pairing".)

Roxas x Naminé

Their relationship had no substance. They met like a couple of times, and Roxas was more concerned about what was gonna happen to him as opposed to what was happening to her. Their little “scene” at the end was so random, too. Just cuz they’re two Nobodies of the “original” couple, doesn’t mean they should hook up. And what's creepy about them is that they're both from the same person - Sora. Isn't that like... incest, or something? Besides, everyone knows Roxas and Axel are meant for each other, jeez. XD

Riku x Sora

I don’t completely hate this pairing, and I’ll read it if it’s well-written… but I mean, it’s been abused by this fandom. And I’ve always seen Sora as sort of hero-worshipping Riku as an older brother figure, and Riku always being rather protective of Sora. A powerful example of platonic love, in my opinion.

Axel x Larxene

So not happening. They may “get along” to some people, but think about it. They’d make great rivals I think, but romance? They’re both a bit cocky, smart-ass and vain. If they got into a fight, who would say sorry first? Yeah, exactly. Neither one softens the other up… and Axel is so gay for Roxas. Duh. XD

Sora x Kairi

Now, this pairing (and it's not crack)… I’m ok with it, at best. It seriously depends on Kairi’s characterization… because she barely had any in the game, Miss. Oh-my-goodness-Sora-Riku-fight-over-me-and-destroy-your-friendship-sob. Sorry. I’ve written a few Sokai fics, I know, but I usually stretch Kairi’s character a bit. Other than that… yeah. Just thought I should share.

Riku x Kairi

(Well, actually, anyone x Kairi...) But seriously - this couple makes no logical sense of whatsoever. Riku comes off as cool and mature; Kairi comes off as giggly and naive. Personally, I think Riku would get annoyed of her, and more importantly, they would never connect on a deep, emotional level - Riku's been through shit and back; Kairi has remained pretty much safe through all three games. They can't relate to one another. Their relationship, at best, can be portrayed as sibling-like.

Rikku x Auron

O-kay... I know some people dig the whole pedophile thing... but, um, necrophilia? Umm.. ewww...Auron is an old man... and Rikku is fifteen in the game... nuff said. o.O

Zelda x Link

I hate this pairing. I hate Zelda... almost as much as I hate Kairi... another damsel in distress. And like I said before, their relationship was based off an alliance, not a friendship. Furthermore, it's too clichéd... and it comes off as more of an obligation to Link to protect Zelda - you know, like out of heroic duty? It's rather annoying. She's all "woe-is-me", and Link's got his own "problems"... I don't think Link could emotionally save Zelda.

Any other pairing then the ones on my profile, I usually find tolerable. And crack pairings are fun, so I’m pretty open to those as well.
