Author has written 31 stories for Gundam Wing/AC, Batman, Peter Pan, Digimon, Sailor Moon, Yu Yu Hakusho, Trigun, Card Captor Sakura, Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy VII, Tenshi ni Narumon, Bleach, Onmyou Taisenki, Devil & Devil, Death Note, Casshan: Robot Hunter, and Thor. 12-2-08 I want to encourage people to read Tryst if they like my work. Devil & Devil is an obscure fandom, I know, but while reading the manga would, I think, give the fic a little more depth, really all you need to know is the general premise of the manga, which is that an angel named Ios, and a demon named Sword, who were sworn enemies, fought almost to the death and to save their own lives inhabited the bodies of two teenagers, who happened to be (non-identical) twin brothers. That's really all you need to know to understand Tryst (and that much occurs in the first chapter). So please, give it a try; it's my best writing and, sadly, almost completely neglected. 12-1-08 About time I updated this again. Currently in finals, and looking forward to the break. Hopefully I'll write, but that didn't get very far over the summer. I'm going to try to write for at least fifteen minutes every day, I think that will get me going again. I still haven't (re)started Echoes of a Disappearing Future, the FFVII fic which I expect to surpass A Matter of Control; I believe I briefly mentioned it in some of my author notes. Having lost the first version, I find the fact that I have to rewrite the prologue very upsetting; the beginning of chapter 1 sucked, but the prologue was sublime. I think I may have subconciously cannibalized a little of the prose for chapter 2 of AMoC, which makes it all the more difficult to get started on EoDF. I'm thinking of revisiting my webpage; I haven't touched it in ages, I wonder if it's even still there? Addition: 8-2-08 I feel like adding a note on what I think and feel about the fics I've written to date. Currently, I only consider A Matter of Control, Tryst, Moonlight, and Coming to Terms to be representative of my current level of skill; with A Matter of Control and Tryst still being a good distance above the other two. While I've stated that I consider A Matter of Control to be my current best, this is largely in terms of plot and character dynamics, if it's a matter of only the prose, however, Tryst is currently superior; though another reason that I think A Matter of Control is my best work right now is that it has plenty of potential to surpass Tryst in terms of prose as well (seeing as I've only just started the story). I also really, really like Public Molestation, almost enough to stick it with the previous four, because I think I was successful at pulling off the humorous tone (for all that it's my own odd brand of humor) and describing the action line clearly, and because it was my first successful (I hope) attempt at writing something with sexual content (even if it's only strong lime). I don't care as much for Quincy Pride, but I was proud of it when I wrote it, and I still like it. Sum of the Parts was interesting to write. I still think the prose and emotional line were reasonably well executed; I put a lot of thought into it when I was writing it. I occasionally consider extending it, but my interest level isn't high. Final Resting Place was just me wanting to exorcise an idea that had been bouncing around in my head like a caffeinated chihuahua, but I also put a lot of thought into it and I think it came out well. The Gift was one of the first FFVII fics I started writing, and as such it suffers from a lack of refinement in my decisions of how to portray the characters and their world, as well as an overeager writing approach and the fact that my writing style was starting to undergo a major change. Axis was a stylistic experiment born of writer's block, Fish and Crackers, Saraba no Tegami, and Parting Gift were random little plot bunnies, The Only Choice was a character motivation piece, and I Did NOT Just Think That! was just silly; as such none of these pieces were given an extensive amount of attention. The Sin of Regret was born of my research into kitsune mythology, and while I was very proud to have finished it, and liked it when I wrote it, I currently don't think it's all that good. I will probably rewrite it someday, or cannibalize some of the concepts. Eyes of Heaven suffers from the skittishness I had toward writing sexual content at the time (in that I completely side-stepped it when I really shouldn't have; though back then I would have made a complete mess if I'd tried to play with citrus). I may remedy this at a later date. My two posted Zelda fics, Janus and The Fragile Web, stalled out for drastically different reasons. The Fragile Web, as it stands, just sucks. I like the idea of Link and Sheik going on adventures together as kids and growing up together, but I seriously need to come up with good adventures for them. Not to mention I created a Mary-Sue. -_-; The problem with Janus is just plain, ordinary writer's block combined with a dash of painting myself into a corner plot-wise. I basically need an entire secondary plot in order for the story to work, and I've yet to come up with anything. Shattered Reflections, Trust and Kindness, and the side-story. Ugh. These were written at a time when I was recovering from being in a very bad place psychologically. I frankly think they're a mess and an example of immature writing, but I'm proud of myself for finishing them. The Crow: Shinigami...Aiyaiyai. I got myself so stuck with this one and now my style and taste have evolved so much that when I look back on it I have to roll my eyes at the immaturity of my writing. I still like the idea, but it would have to be completely re-envisioned and rewritten in order to be workable. I don't quite consider it abandoned, but it's not even on the back burner, it's sitting in tupperware in the freezer. I was always hoping to be able to evolve Acting Therapy into a longer story, but that never happened and I really don't feel the motivation any more. More Precious Far Than Gold and Third Time Around should be considered abandoned. There are still concepts in them that I really like, but my interest is nonexistent. Of my posted fics, Third Time Around is my oldest, and in the unlikely event that I were ever to continue it, it would have to be rewritten to fit in with the original Japanese version of the anime (it was written during the brief period of time between when I started watching Anime and when I became a total purist - I tried to salvage it a few years back, but that effort completely fell apart). | |||||||
