Poll: I've been flailing a bit writing-wise this year. I took a detour off my usual writing path and am having major difficulty returning to it. So, in the hopes of getting me prompted again and out of pure curiosity... what brings you here? Vote Now!

Announcement: (1/31/2015): Bright Coles -- sorry to respond like this, but I can't respond to unsigned guest reviews any other way. -.-;;; I hope you see it! Anyway, thank you for the lovely review on The Zorya! It really perked up my night. _ And I know it's been a really long time since I've posted any Hair fanfic, but don't count out a chance of a sequel just yet. I DO have the first 20K of the next Algea story already written, after all. _ Someday I even intend to finish it! But seriously, thank you so much! I'm glad you're still enjoying those stories! _ Feel free to PM me if you'd like to talk further! _ (4/1/2014): So... I just received a review on Our Place in Time that I wanted to address and since it's a guest review and I can't respond privately, it's not the first message of its kind I've gotten, and I realized that I never explained why I put that story on hiatus in the first place... this seemed like a good time to address it? Z:Please bring this back...? So... first thing's first. I'm glad that you enjoyed the story thus far! And I'm really, really, REALLY sorry that it's been on hiatus for so long. Here's the reason it's been on hiatus: I HATED season 3a of Teen Wolf. I hated it SO MUCH that I'm still irrational about it. Like... I hated it so much that it leeched all of the enjoyment that I'd had from the first two seasons directly out of my experience with the show. I still can't see past how much I utterly loathe that half of the season. 3b was mildly better but... not enough better. And ALLISON, OMG. D: *coughs* So. You see my problem? It's very, very hard to continue work on a fanwork when you've started to hate the source material. -.-;;; I'm really hoping that someday I'll be over that enough to rewatch the first two seasons and recapture my initial love of it, but right now that feeling of pain and betrayal over season 3a is still too raw. So, to those of you who have been reading and enjoying the story, I'm truly, deeply sorry. I hope to get back to it someday (which is why it's "on hiatus", not "discontinued"), but it may take a while. :( Again... I'm really sorry. :( (9/13/13): Because I know I don't appreciate it when people change their names and don't allow you to keep track of the changes... This account still belongs to 'Renee-chan'. Nothing else is changing but the name. I just prefer to have all my usernames match up and since this is what I'm going by on tumblr and AO3, I figured it was time to make the change here, as well. :) What you may want to know about me as a writer... or not: I've been in fandom (mainly fanfiction writing) for about 16 years, now, which would be almost half my life. That's... a little scary, actually. -.-;;; Moving on. I started out my fandom career in anime, specifically Sailor Moon, then branched off into TV shows and movies and recently landed myself in the land of musical fandom (most infamously, Hair) and spent a significant amount of time there. Even more recently than that, I've come full circle back to anime and started dipping my toes back into that, again. I'm a yaoi fangirl (slash for those in Western fandoms). I've dabbled in yuri (femslash) more and more recently and even a bit of het and gen. But I always come back to my boys' love, eventually. ;) Last but not least, a note on ratings -- I, in my innocent past, once swore I would never write anything rated over PG-13/R. Heh. That resolution lasted far longer than it should have and no longer holds, but I am generally very good about warnings (in the summary, if I can manage it). Don't like? Don't read. We'll all be happy. Simple? :) You want to know more about me as a person? Links to my non-ffnet sites are below. Enjoy in good health. Peace. :) eirenical (Renee-chan) If you're looking for a story that I wrote and you can't find it here, I direct you to these places: http:///users/chibi1723/profile -- my AO3 page, currently the most updated of all my fanfic links and likely to remain so at this point. If you can't find it here and you can't find it there, you can always try e-mailing me, but odds are... I didn't write it. 6/27/2013: A note on writing I have had this posted on my profile in the past and I doubt the ones who ask the question will find their way here to read my response, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to try, right? I question I get asked, often far more insensitively than I like (and almost always by those leaving guest reviews or with their PM function turned off... huh. Wonder why that is?), is... "Why 'G-d'?" After all, it's clear what I mean when I write 'G-d', right? So, why not just write the word? In short? I'm Jewish. In slightly less short? One of the traditions of the Jewish people is to not write the word 'G-d' where if might be accidentally erased. We get around this possible problem by replacing the 'o' with '-'. Therefore if the word is erased, it's not a big deal because it wasn't the word to begin with. You know what I mean, I know what I mean, and I don't have to risk erasing the name of G-d. Honor is satisfied all around. Is it a silly tradition for 2013? Maybe. I'm not highly religious, but it's how I was raised and is something I consider a sign of respect. I'm sorry if you come across it in my writing and find it jarring. That isn't my intent, but these are my beliefs. I try not to trample on those of others and I hope you'll respect my right not to have mine trampled on, as well. Thank you! |
