![]() Author has written 21 stories for Harry Potter. "I am what I am, an' I'm not ashamed. 'Never be ashamed,' my ol' dad used ter say, 'there's some who'll hold it against you, but they're not worth botherin' with.'" - Hagrid (GOF) I'm delighted to be on ffnet. I took a hiatus for a while but I have returned. I got a message a while ago which bugged me and made me think hard about whether I wanted to continue. I used to have Ravenclaw's motto above, because I am a Ravenclaw, but I put this one up instead. I want to thank SerpensPrincess especially for all the reviews that I get on my new fic I started really recently. I know that it's not your average fic, but I'm one to believe that love is love no matter who it's with. So I'm repeating what I say later down, but if you've nothing nice to say about my fics, please go away. I spend a lot of time writing them because I love HP and the message it spreads and a great deal of people I meet through fanfiction, but I don't want to be discouraged. I admire all the authors out there and thank every single one of you for your fics. I am usually in the UK, however I do move around a lot. I am a die-hard J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter fan. I enjoy reading good Harry Potter fiction, but I dislike people who write negative reviews. I don't mind constructive criticism, but simple criticism is unwanted and unneeded. Please don't say something rude or disparaging about my fics unless you have a reason why and how I could change it. Thank you. I'm just here for a laugh, to post my headcanons and to read good fanfic. I mainly started my account (4 years ago!!) because I needed to favourite all the fics I now have on my favourites list! I like both het and slash, I don't mind mpreg because lots of authors (like me!) want to get around non-biological children that way (and I don't do science anyway so I feel like I can disregard it sometimes!), all I want to do is have a great time and escape from RL a bit. There are numerous pairings I like to write. I mainly write slash, though I like canon pairings or non-slash pairings. My favourite pairings are: Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy Harry Potter/Severus Snape Harry Potter/Hermione Granger Harry Potter/Luna Lovegood Harry Potter/Neville Longbottom Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley I'm open to any other pairing if you're willing to rec me good fics to start with! To give you an idea about my personality, I was Sorted into Ravenclaw on Pottermore and in pretty much every single other quiz I have been faced with that Sorts you. I occasionally get Slytherin, though that's few and far between. From the Ilvermorny quiz on Pottermore, I am a Horned Serpent, the house that favours scholars. My wand is laurelwood with a unicorn hair core, ten and three quarter inches and rigid flexibility. Pottermore says that this on my wand (this is in a nutshell, there a numerous paragraphs on it): "It is said that a laurel wand cannot perform a dishonourable act [...] the laurel wand seems unable to tolerate laziness in a possessor, and it is in such conditions that it is most easily and willingly won away [...] Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts [...] Wand flexibility or rigidity denotes the degree of adaptability and willingness to change possessed by the wand-and-owner pair." So that's me! I came to fanfiction to continue my love of Harry Potter, and to meet others who couldn't quite let the series go. I just want to make a note here about Cursed Child. I know that there are inconsistencies. I know that it doesn't match up to the original series. I know that many people are shocked about Harry's and Albus' relationship. I know people are angry about Scorbus. I really don't think that should matter. I really, really don't. And I don't know if anyone's going to read this, but I want it to be out there. I think that JKR wrote a hilarious, feel-good script with one of the most beautiful literary friendships I have ever seen in my life. When I write this, I haven't seen the play, and I won't be seeing it for a long time yet. I'm basing what I see on the script, and I think the script is wonderful. I have many guy friends who feel like they can't express emotion because they're guys, and if they show too much emotion they might be seen as weak. I don't think that every male relationship should be like that. I love what Albus and Scorpius have, and if fanfic chooses to make it into Scorbus, then that's fine. JKR hasn't complained about fanfic yet, and I write Drarry and they actually hated each other so it can't bee too much of a stretch to turn that friendship into Scorbus. And JKR was never one for pandering to fan opinion, and Merlin knows how much we wanted Scorpius and Albus to a) be Slytherin, b) be friends, c) be boyfriends. And the fact that JKR completed a) and b) is amazing. Furthermore, there are more fanfics out there with Scorpius/Rose than Scorbus, so I don't know why we're complaining about that. And about Harry and Albus. Yeah, I was pretty shocked. Yes, I wanted Harry to be better than that. But also, I get where he was coming from, and Harry has always been the awkward one who really doesn't know what to do with pesky feelings. It's not too far-fetched to think that Harry, emotionally stunted when it comes to familial relationships, would react that way with his son. And the gulf between them is so understandable. I know that we were expecting differently, but hey, they sort out their relationship, and hey, it's stronger for it. I see CC as canon. JKR wrote it, and though she co-wrote it, I'm 100% sure that she accepted everything that entered that script. CC is a "Hello". It's peeping back into the lives of beloved people we grew to love. It's the hype of waiting for another book to come out for those who weren't old enough to remember the hype of Deathly Hallows or the other books. It's seeing that magic on a page again, and seeing it come to life in our minds. It's seeing that they've moved on with their lives and it's a confirmation that Harry Potter is still there for us. "Hogwarts will always welcome you home," JKR said, and it has. It's not a book meant for critical acclaim like the others. It's giving us die-hard Potterheads another Potter book and allowing us to say "Hello" to the Next Gen. I get upset that people are so angry about JKR and her writing and continuing the franchise. And yes, though I feel like we were happy where it ended, I do also know that the book, the film, the play, it's all hers. And it's all her magic. I love her work. I adore her characters. I love how three-dimensional they are. And ultimately, I love Harry Potter, and I'm never going to stop doing that. I generally like to favourite fics that are well-written and finished, or in the process of being finished. Those fics on hiatus/unfinished are usually good enough to get away with it. There are only a handful in my favourites list. So if you're looking for good Harry Potter/Pride and Prejudice fanfiction that's finished and well-written, my favourites list is your friend! I do prefer slash for Harry Potter or Harry/Ginny, so don't go looking in my favourites list if you're after some Harry/Daphne Greengrass. Any suggestions are also very welcome. I'm always, always on the lookout for new fics to read. Here is a list of the fics I have favourited, by fandom, then by subject (For Harry Potter, simply because I have so many) with a small comment. When I first came to the HP fandom, I was a complete Drarry fan - and I started with Veela fics, as every Drarry fan must do at some point. My tastes have migrated slightly from the slash area (though my latest fic would bely my words!), and I currently spend most of my time reading Harmony or Hinny stuff over at AO3. I'm keeping this list up because some people have PM'd me saying that they really appreciate it: Important Notice If, in my comments about the fics, the author should happen to stumble across my profile, please know that I intend no disrespect. Please let me know if you have been offended in any way, shape or form and I will do my utmost to rectify my error. You are on my favourites list because you are brilliant and for no other reason! Pride and Prejudice A New Beginning by Maisedoat (A Regency AU; good story, well-written)* An Unequal Marriage by Jessy16 (A Regency post-marriage AU; I really enjoyed reading it, there are good twists and turns * Face Down by Greekchic (A Modern PP AU; good, enjoyable, fairly predictable until the end and you'll have to watch the tears.)* Sparks Fly, Tires Skid by orchidvines (A Modern PP AU; the full story was up on ffnet and it was excellent but the author has now published it and there is only Chapter 1 online)* To Save and Protect by DarcyFan1 (A Regency AU; YOU HAVE TO BUY IT ON AMAZON NOW)*To Love and Cherish by DarcyFan1 (A Regency AU; sequel to "To Save and Protect", focuses more on Georgiana. Fluffy and feel-good)* Sherlock Performance in a Leading Role by MadLori (Sherlock Modern AU; wonderful, wonderful story with a wonderful plot. Could not recommend it enough!)* Harry Potter AUs 1. Fics that either do not have a pairing or the main pairing is not central to the plot: Saving Connor by Lightning on the Wave (*) and this is a seven-part series (No Mouth But Some Serpent's, Comes Out of Darkness Morn, Freedom And Not Peace, Wind That Shakes the Seas and Stars, A Song In Time of Revolution and I Am Also Thy Brother, all * - I have not favourited them all, only the first one). (Insanely well-written and well-developed. Watch out for a manipulating Lily Potter, but totally and utterly wonderful. One of the best series I've ever read, and it's complete furthermore. It's not Drarry until a bit further into the series. It also has mentor!Snape. It is so full of gorgeous twists and turns it deserves to be in this category, because it's a work of art and all the relationships take time.)* A Better Man by Valandar (also above, but HPGW is not centric to the fic. It's a what-if-Vernon-was-good and beautiful. One of the only authors who has successfully tried to write the Dursleys in a good light, and I loved reading it. I am thankful that this fic exists)* A Marauder's Plan by CatsAreCool (this is also below in the Harmony section, but as I say there, it's not really Harmony-centric, though she does play an extremely important part. It focuses beautifully on Harry and Sirius' relationship, and is one of the best and most believable fics I have ever read. Worth your while to read)* After the End by Sugar Quill (Post-Hogwarts story. An insane read. Insane. I loved it. Beautifully well written, so well done to the author. Loved it. Not HPGW-centric, though it does feature.)* Brotherly Duties by Perse (there aren't enough Weasley-brother-centric fics. It's so warm and fuzzy I just melted into a puddle of warm fuzzy goo. It's so sweet, a one-shot about the Weasley brothers helping each other with homesickness.)* Enveloped in the Darkness by Brigade (not one for the faint-hearted. A rather Darkish!Harry fic, with Voldemort as a sort-of mentor to Harry. It's extremely well written and a very intricate plot. It's a good read if you're up to it.)* Children of the Sun by Lomonaaeren (as usual, extremely well-written and a lovely idea. What if wizards had familiars, and the colours of the familiars denoted status to a certain extent? An interesting concept and one that I look forward to reading more of) WIP Living with Danger by whydoyouneedtoknow (*), followed by (in order, all , but not on my favourites list as I only needed the first story) Living without Danger, Dealing with Danger, Facing Danger, Surpassing Danger and the epilogue one-shot The Most Dangerous Time of the Year (Dear Merlin are these fics works of art! There are an astonishing number of side-fics as well, all of them listed on the author's profile page. The story is stunning, the writing is stunning, the characterisation is stunning, everything is stunning. You have to read them in order though, because it's way too confusing if you don't. Totally, utterly worth the time that you will spend reading them if you do.) Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality by Less Wrong (I don't think that I could call myself a proper Harry Potter fanfiction reader if I haven't read this fic. It's an essential to read, whether it be on your favourites list or not, you absolutely have to read it. It's so good I actually lack words to describe it.)* By the Divining Light by enembee (*), followed by Conlaodh's Song (*). (It does have a bit of Harry/Luna, but since it's totally not Harry/Luna-centric it's not enough for me to create a new Harry/Luna category, even though I have two other fics with that pairing. It's a fascinating concept, and worked to the max. It's very well-written as well. Your brain needs to be awake for this fic though, because you'll be lost if not.) The Love of a Father Runs Deep by Cheeky Slytherin Lass (Family-centric, focusing on Ron and Rose's relationship. It made me feel so happy to see this, and I always smile whenever I read it.)* More Than a Mug of Hot Chocolate by keeptheotherone (Another Weasley-sibling fic. This time, it focuses on Ginny after the Chamber of Secrets débacle, and I loved reading it, because it's true: Ginny couldn't have just been fine after everything that happened to her.)* Midnight Guardian by ksomm814 (*), followed by (all *) Trials of a Champion, Burden of a Destiny, Power of Hogwarts, Rise of the Protector (A what if Sirius and Remus raised Harry series, with its own set of problems and responsibilities. I loved this series, despite the few typos and grammar errors here and there.) Promises Unbroken by Robin4 (*), followed by (all *) Promises Remembered and Promises Defended. The prequel (*) is Promises Honored (This trilogy beautifully explores friendship, as summed up by the poem in the very first chapter of "Promises Unbroken". What if Sirius Black had been the Secret Keeper? What if Voldemort had remained alive? Was it really worth it? Trust me, if anything, this series is worth reading) My Baby by SoulMalady (This is one of the loveliest, most sincere depictions of Harry and Teddy's relationship. Currently it's only while Teddy is young.) # Dudders by SoulMalady (A heart-warming one-shot of Teddy finding Dudley. It's all good intentions, don't worry, and very, very moving.)* Choices by Aebbe (I actually did not know where to put this fic on my list so currently it's hanging out here. It's very well-written, beautifully interesting storyline and great characterisation.)* Other People's Choices by Lomonaaeren (What would happen if, in the Chamber of Secrets, the Hat decided to Sort Harry into Slytherin? It's really excellent.) WIP 2. Drarry Creature or Soul Bond Fics: Black Truth by InferiorBeing (Lovely, wonderful build-up. The writing sometimes lacks description, but it's a great story and well-written to boot. It's a slow build up as far as the relationship goes. Draco is a Veriae.)* Bond by Anna Fugazzi (there are side fics as well; despite the summary, it's brilliant and definitely not as cliché as the summary makes it seem. Worth your time. It's a Soul Bond AU.)* Being a Veela's mate by Chereche (Completely, utterly worth your time. It's a great build-up and completely not cliché in the least. Draco is Veela.)* Checkmate by Naadi (Very well written, and the whole chess game is wonderful. It's an interesting story with really good, believable characterisation. Turns into some form of a soul bond.)* DragonKin by Fyreheart (Well written, though you are thrown right in there from the start. Extremely slow in regards to the relationship, but very believable. There is unfortunately no sequel, which is sort of needed because the end implies that there is something coming afterwards. But you can read it differently. Draco is a Veela and Harry is an Elder Dragon.)* The Marriage of True Minds by Lomonaaeren (I can't say anything apart from the fact that it's Lomonaaeren. Forced Marriage fic.)* Fairest Creatures by Lomonaaeren (Harry and Draco are both Veela in this.)* Pretty Little Secrets by sparkley-tangerine (A fairly predictable plot, but it's a good story with some interesting twists as it goes on. I enjoyed reading it, it's very feel-good.)* Life Renovations* by Windseeker2305, the sequel is Life Agendas, followed by Life Crusades, which is a WIP. There is a future fic in the series called Life Eternal: Always You* (Starts deviating massively. Very good AU, filled with fluffy bits and heartbreaking bits. Completely worth your while, but you do need a bit of time on your hands. I was completely hooked from the start. The creature world is very well developed, with a whole backstory and everything to it. The creatures in the fic are called the Ukatae.) Catch Me In Midair by Acherona (Beautifully written. It does have a few clichés, but the storyline more than makes up for it. It's the Horcrux Hunt from Malfoy Manor onwards, with a few twists and some characters who have not died - it's wonderful. Draco is a Veela.)* Gold Tinted Spectacles by Beren, sequel Defence, Pretence, Offence (also *) (The relationship is a bit fast, but otherwise quite believable. There are OOC moments, but they're not massively obvious. It's well written and a good story if you're looking for fluff with a bit of drama and romance thrown in. Harry is a Hecatemus.)* Hybrid Destiny by ame3565, sequel (also *) is Hybrid Legacy (Lacks description in some places and grammar is a bit off in some places, but it is overall a well-written fic. Interesting plot. Good for fluff.)* Broken Mind, Fractured Soul by SensiblyTainted (*), sequel (also *) Shadows Within the Light, followed by Flying with Tattered Wings (*), then What The Future Holds (*) (SensiblyTainted has very interestingly explored what would happen if Harry were to have MPD, and does it very believably. It's extremely well done and absolutely beautiful. I wasn't certain whether to put this in the creature section or not, but since Harry does turn into something that's not quite human eventually - won't say anything more - I'm putting it here.) Sanguis Vita Est by Shigure-san (Shigure-san is one of my favourite authors. This fic is well written, and though it takes a very long time for the relationship to get going, it is done very sensibly; not many authors actually take the time to explore what Harry must have felt after the war in great detail. I'd highly recommend it. Draco is a vampire.)* Stages of Friendship, Love and Kisses by babyvfan (WIP) (This is a new discovery and I absolutely love it. It's not often that there's a Drarry Veela where Draco and Harry don't actually realise what's happening. It's heart-wrenching as well, because it follows canon to a certain extent and I feel so sorry for them at moments. Worth your time!) 3. Drarry: (No magical creature bond or soul bond involved here) Growing Pains by SensiblyTainted (This is an excellent story and it's well-written, even if it has a few typos here and there. It's a great read, I really enjoyed it.)* Will you be my daddy? by FanofBellaandEdward (Lovely use of Scorpius here. It's a charm to read and a good progression of their relationship. Loved it. It's one of those fics without the imposition of Voldemort and yet it manages to successfully stand on its own.)* Always Be Prepared by FanofBellaandEdward (A simple, warm one-shot. Watch out for mpreg.)* Must Love Quidditch by dracosoftie (Yes! Yes! Fluffy, beautiful, lovely relationship development, post-Voldemort with believable characters. You're thrown right in as well. Watch out for the occasional typo. And about the email addresses - fanfiction.net has a bit of an issue with emails so you must excuse the author.)* Eclipse by Mijan (Absolutely worth your while. Well-written, filled with nail-biting twists and turns - just - go ahead and read it. Be ready for some rather angsty moments though.)* Lonely Moon by eleventy7 (Again, lovely use of Scorpius. I've read it when I'm in need of a bit of a pick-me-up. Has sad moments, but also has such sweet moments in it.)* Reparations by Sara's Girl, sequel (also *) is Foundations (Very well-written. Most of the things Sara's Girl has written are beautiful. I enjoyed it, it's slow and heartwarming and the sequel is just as wonderful.)* A Moment in Time by The Shadow Bandit (Mpreg, so watch out those who are squicked by that. It's a brilliant read and a great story, if a bit predictable at times.)* Midnight Sun by Herald-MageAnduli, sequel Darkest Before Dawn (I do like Herald-MageAnduli. This is a great, if extremely AU, including a name change, fic.)* Bursting Bubbles by Stephanniexo (Even though the title is rather odd, it's a great story. Totally out-there because I've never heard of anything like it, but it's a slow bubbling romance and I love that.)* Draco In Darkness by plumeria (plumeria is a great author, so this story is a slow burning, great romance. Draco is blind here, but you don't need to worry about it because Harry rocks up and...I love it.)* Et Dona Ferentes by hidingfromsomeone, prequel The Aftermath Before the After (Teddy brings Harry and Draco together in a heart-stoppingly lovely fic. Well-written and well-characterised. Believable as well.)* A Priceless Gift by LanisFanFiction (Established Relationship Drarry, with Hermione used to the max. Enjoy it, because it's worth enjoying. It should bring you on a rollercoaster of emotions.)* A New Life by HowDracoGotHisGrooveBack (It's a short, fluffy one-shot that you should read if you're short on stuff to read. You'll love it. Hopefully.)* The Perfect Match by slowroad (It's a mix of Scorbus and Drarry, but it does become Drarry-centric as the fic goes on. It's a very believable progression and I guarantee you that it won't annoy Harry/Ginny fans.)* Chaos Theory by Tessa Crowley (This is a fic that you're missing out on if you haven't read. That's all I'm going to say before I push you strongly in the direction of the link)* Never Alone by JulzPadfootMoony (Stunning, gorgeous, wonderful - very quick relationship between Snape and Harry, but it's so lovely. I do not have enough words for this fic and I am so happy that it's finally been finished - 7 years in the waiting!)* Seizing Second Chances by Momatu (Lovely, if quite bittersweet. I was so touched by Draco's pain and Harry's characterisation. It's really magic.)* Saving Connor by Lightning on the Wave (*) and this is a seven-part series (No Mouth But Some Serpent's, Comes Out of Darkness Morn, Freedom And Not Peace, Wind That Shakes the Seas and Stars, A Song In Time of Revolution and I Am Also Thy Brother, all * - I have not favourited them all, only the first one). (Drarry takes time, a lot of time, so hang in there. Draco is present from the very first fic though, and he's extremely important as well) Deny Thy Father and Refuse Thy Name by Piri Lupin-Snape (I loved reading this fic, and loved the relationship between Harry and Draco. I would highly recommend it)* Learn to Love by SoulMalady (It's difficult to sometimes find new Drarry fics that are well-written, finished, and which have one of the most beautiful storylines I have ever seen. Stunning, well-written and it has all the aspects of an incredible story.)* 4. Drarry Nonmagic AU: Draco's Boy by empathic siren (I didn't know what to think of it, but then it all started to make sense for me and I fell deeply in love with it. It is an absolute treasure.)* Life, As Experienced Through Your Fingers (*) by Gold-Snitcher, sequel (#) The Art and Practice of Absolute Pitch (Wow. I was utterly, completely blown away by it. I hate that it's unfinished, but "Life" is worth reading and you can ignore the sequel if you dislike unfinished works.) 5. Severitus: (mentor/guardian/father!Snape) - which I just love! Harry's First Detention by kbinnz, sequel is the fic worth reading Harry's New Home (Both are insane. There is, unfortunately, no continuation, but the author wraps it up sufficiently well. I absolutely adored it. Snape is completely and utterly in character. Harry seems a bit younger than eleven, but that's no problem. And it's hilarious as well. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful)* To Shape and Change by Blueowl (It's another Time Travel Super!Harry but do give it a go. It's well written and a lovely relationship between Harry and Snape and it's a very believable Super!Harry, so please don't ignore it because of that.)* Better Be Slytherin! by jharad17 (There is, sadly, no sequel. It's a Slytherin!Harry worth reading though. Snape is, again, believable, and Harry is wonderful. The author has certainly made the most of both characters.)* Resonance (*) by GreenGecko, sequel (also *) is Revolution, followed by the # Resolution (It starts off very confusing but do hang in there. The story more than makes up for it.) The Heir to Prince Manor by Snapegirlkmf, sequel Return to Prince Manor (I do like it, I'll say this. A few mistakes here and there, but definitely worth your while. I do like what the relationship turns into.)* Arms of A Dark Angel by Snapegirlkmf (Sweet, lovely, fluffy, good story. Give it a go.)* Vows (*) by Zarathustra46, followed by Vows II: Duty (*) then Vows III: Honour (*) then Vows IV: Courage (#) (This is one of the first fanfics I read, so I am emotionally attached to this series. I was heartbroken when it seemed unfinished, because it is absolutely beautiful. Despite the fact that it doesn't look like it's ending anytime soon, it is worth your while.) The Best Revenge by Arsinoe de Blassenville (*), sequel (*) The Best Revenge: Time of the Basilisk (they are absolutely beautifully written. Some of the best Severitus I have read in my life. There is no continuation to the series as, sadly, Susan - the author - lost her battle to cancer in April 2016. I often read the two fics, and they are beautiful and well worth your while) Broken Mind, Fractured Soul by SensiblyTainted (*), sequel (also *) Shadows Within the Light, followed by Flying with Tattered Wings (*), then What The Future Holds (*) (I've put this here as well, because it wouldn't be proper to put this somewhere which wasn't a Severitus area, because Snape is so important here, and so beautifully portrayed.) Growing Pains by SensiblyTainted (Also above, but it also contains Severitus. Wonderful read.)* Broken Wings by Snapegirlkmf (*), sequel (also *), Two Hawks Hunting (I love the relationship between Harry and Snape, and how it comes about. I love the different ways in which the author writes about the Severitus relationships in the many fics in this list of mine, and this is such a wonderful, sweet way to portray their relationship.) Saving Connor by Lightning on the Wave (*) and this is a seven-part series (No Mouth But Some Serpent's, Comes Out of Darkness Morn, Freedom And Not Peace, Wind That Shakes the Seas and Stars, A Song In Time of Revolution and I Am Also Thy Brother, all * - I have not favourited them all, only the first one). (Severitus takes time, and since Lily and James are alive, it's an extremely interesting Severitus, and one which no author I've read has explored) Deny Thy Father and Refuse Thy Name by Piri Lupin-Snape (again, this was above, but it's also a Severitus. I said everything I had to say above, in the Drarry section, but I will say again that this is a lovely fic)* 6. Snarry Creature or Soul Bond Fics: (my foray into Snarry was brief but very enjoyable and definitely interesting) A Brave New World by Cithara (Very, very fluffy but good plot. It's a very slow build to the actual relationship, and there's some Ron/Draco thrown in there, but it's worth your while. Some form of a Soul Bond.)* In This World For You by SnapesFavorite (Good story. It's a lovely, heartwarming story which is well-written. Soul Bond - sort of. It didn't really make sense to put it in the other section so I went for this one instead.) # 7. Snarry: (No magical creature bond or soul bond involved here) The Marriage Stone by Josephine Darcy (This is a forced-together-by-marriage fic which rapidly turns into something brilliant and the whole story is a rollercoaster. Read it an prepare to be blown away.) WIP-ish Ghost of a Memory by Phoenix Boy (I loved this. It's got funny moments and sweet moments and Snape is just great.)* The Paradox of Existence by DragonLight (This explores a very interesting concept. It is another Time Travel fic, but an interesting one, and worth the read. The summary explains the story at its simplest. Do give it a go. I adored it.)* Three Firsts and One Forever by Suite Sambo (This is a heartwarming, fluffy one-shot that will keep you smiling the whole way through. I adore it and I always, always read it when I need a little pick-me-up. It never fails to make me smile.)* A Forgiving Christmas by Heather68 (Another fluffy-ish one-shot. It's set in NextGen territory and is post-DH Epilogue, so you'll have to excuse the unfortunate lack of Harry/Ginny.)* 8. Harmony (Harry/Hermione): Harry Crow by robst (This is a very enjoyable fic. Harry does not really face any challenges in it, but it's a rollicking good read. Harry and Hermione get together very quickly, but it's done quite believably.)* The Problem with Purity by Phoenix.Writing (I do not have enough words for this fic. It's beautifully written and it's also an interesting concept. Have fun reading it if you do!)* Vox Corporis by MissAnnThropic (Insane. This is one of my absolute favourite Harmony fics. I cannot recommend it to you enough. It's powerful and deep-reaching and...just please read it. NO LONGER AVAILABLE ON FFNET - you've got to go elsewhere)* Backwards Compatible by Ruskbyte (It's another Time Travel AU. Well written, even if the plot - Time Travel - is often used. I had fun reading this.)* What We're Fighting For by James Spookie (Very interesting concept. I enjoyed the characterisation of Hermione greatly.)* A Marauder's Plan by CatsAreCool (This is such an extraordinarily well written fic that I couldn't quite believe my luck when I found it. It leans heavily on the peerage system Wizarding World-style, and the only annoying thing is that Harry is called "Pronglet" instead of "Prongslet", but that shouldn't bother you at all. It's a stunning piece of work that absorbed me completely. It's not really Harmony-centric, but she does play a large part in the fic. Sirius is stunning. I just cannot tell you how fantastic this fic is.)* Blindness by AngelaStarCat (This is such an interesting concept that I couldn't help but read it. Harry is blind, but not in the way that you would expect. And watch out for the deaths. Canon is completely ignored. Be ready to feel your heart break when some of your favourite characters don't end up the way you want them to. It's a wonderful story.)* 9. The Golden Trio: (Interestingly, most of the best fanfics about the trio out there are trio ships...which was...interesting...but enjoyable! I feel like fanfic authors suspend a lot of their disbelief when they're reading fanfic) Best and Last Home by huuflepxff (This is such a beautifully written one-shot. I love it. Nothing explicit and it's from Hermione's POV. A bit bittersweet, but - just lovely.)* Dinner Plans by Mad Maudlin (A short drabble about dinner.)* Seeking Shelter by Mad Maudlin (More of a comfort fic than a trio ship, it reminds me of family and warmth and close friendship.)* Happy Ever After by Laura Chant (I absolutely love Ron, Hermione and Harry's son Oliver. It's a family-centric one-shot which makes me smile because it's like a cup of hot chocolate on a winter's day.)* Afterwards by plumeria (I avoided this one-shot for a long time because Hermione dies at the beginning of it. However, plumeria is a wonderful author and I decided to tackle it - armed with chocolate of course. It was just as heartbreaking as I expected it to be, but the tenacity of Ron and Harry is completely believable. It turns into a Ron/Harry ship, because Hermione's dead, but it starts out that way.)* Chagrin d'Amour by PutMoneyInThyPurse (This has some lemon at the end, and it's rather angsty at the beginning. Well-written. I like it because it's an interesting way to develop the trio relationship.)* Balance by pathera (Stunningly well-written. It has such personal interruptions and little anecdotes and the writing style is so different to what I'm used to. Give it a shot.)* A Fairytale Dream by Mistress Ashley (Interesting way to get the trio together. It's worth a read.)* Outside Looking In by HalfASlug (It's a bit bittersweet, but surprisingly accurately portrays the Trio's relationship from Ginny's perspective. It's not a Trio ship, only Trio friendship)* Just The Three of Them by RicardianScholar Clark-Weasley (Just as the title suggest. It's just the three of them.)* What the World Misses by RicardianScholar Clark-Weasley (It's the Trio's relationship - it's a romantic one - from different POVs. An interesting take.)* 10. Marauders' Era: The Life and Times by Jewels5 (This is one of the most beautiful, stunning and intricate Marauders' Era fics I have ever read. It is a true gem and it made me both laugh and cry.)* Forever Alive by Mordred (This is an astonishing piece of work. It's a magnificent 118 chapters long and indeed something beautiful to behold. I was stunned by the work that had gone into this.)* A New Life by HarryPotterBlack7 (Not quite Marauders' Era. It's set in Marauder's Era but it's a Time Travel involving Harry going back into the Marauders' Era so it fit into this category. It's a charming story that I love.) WIP Scenes from a Hogsmeade Pub by B.C Daily (Lily/James-centric. Beautiful, beautiful. Worth a read.)* 11. NextGen: (fics involving the NextGen.) Being Them by Ramzes (A series of one-shots documenting the lives of each of the NextGen characters. Beautiful.)* Must Have Done Something Right by MissPronounced (Scorbus-centric. Really plays on the gay stereotype and the bullying is quite intense, but it's a wonderful fic I adored reading.)* The Perfect Match by slowroad (Scorbus and Drarry. I put this above but it also applies to the NextGen.)* Two by caputdraconis14 (Scorbus. Lovely fic. I really enjoyed reading this.)* The Escapades of Teddy Lupin by nymphxdora (*), sequel (WIP) The Skeletons in Teddy Lupin's Closet (Absolutely incredible plot. You have no idea how talented this author is. It will eventually turn into an account of Teddy's seven years at Hogwarts. Has some side fics.) You Can Marry Me by deceptive-serenade (Albus/OFC. Fascinating story which is definitely worth your while!)* Father's Word by mew-tsubaki (A heartwarming conversation between Teddy and Harry.)* Scorpius Malfoy and the Forbidden Flower by Idday (Well-written, wonderful plot, worth a read.)* A Forgiving Christmas by Heather68 (This is one of the fluffiest, most insightful little one-shots I have ever read.)* Game On by PenguinBuddy (*), sequel (WIP) The Name of the Game (James Sirius/OFC. Funny, lovely, well-written, everything I look for in a fic.) A Sketch of Character by Jedi Tess of Gryffindor (Fluffy post-Epilogue one-shot which brings a smile to my face.)* Quietly by starlightpeddler (prequel Seasons, sequel Softly, drabble Softly: Pancakes) - all *. (This is amazing!!!! I'm always, always on the lookout for amazing NextGen fics, but this is unreal. starlightpeddler takes Cursed Child as canon, but turns it into a beautiful Scorbus relationship, keeping the humour, with real, powerful angst and moments that will make you cry. It's an amazing series, and I can't recommend it enough. Scorbus is the main pairing.) 12. Harry/Ginny: A Better Man by Valandar (eventual HPGW. Wonderful, beautiful and utterly believable.)* After the End by Sugar Quill (HPGW, but not HPGW-centric. Gorgeously well written.)* Foolish by Tonksaholic (*), sequel (WIP), All Was (superb fic, good story, well-written, all I can ask for in a fic really. Well weaved, and full of action and angst and romance and everything you want to curl up and read) Living with Danger by whydoyouneedtoknow (*), followed by (in order, all , but not on my favourites list as I only needed the first story) Living without Danger, Dealing with Danger, Facing Danger, Surpassing Danger and the epilogue one-shot The Most Dangerous Time of the Year (eventual HPGW, and it's quite an important pairing later on in the series. It doesn't start that way though.) 13. Miscellaneous Pairings: (Pairings not often used or pairings whose fics I only have one or two of.) Delenda Est by Lord Silvere (*), sequel Para Bellum (#) (Absolutely stunning piece of work. Bellatrix/Harry, involves Time Travel, but it is a wonderful, stunning, charming piece of work that is completely and utterly believable.) Black Fortunes by Herald-MageAnduli (Harry/Orion, Time Travel fic. This is a very interesting fic with a very interesting pairing. It plays beautifully on the mostly unknown Black Family and is a good read.)* La Canzone de la Luna (Song of the Moon) by Herald-MageAnduli (Harry/Remus, focuses on werewolf lore. I don't usually go for Remus/Harry fics, but I found this one while I was exploring Herald-MageAnduli's other fics and I enjoyed reading it.)* Enveloped in the Darkness by Brigade (Voldemort-Tom Riddle/Harry. Dark!Harry. Wonderfully, intrically written.)* 50 Heartbeats Away from Romance by Rendered Reversed (Voldemort/Harry. Post-war. This is beautifully, wonderfully odd. It's short and sweet and nothing bad actually happens...loved it.)* The Rebel and The Chosen by cb-hp-writer (Tonks/Harry. Good fic I enjoyed reading and made me go in search of more Tonks/Harry.)* Black Bond (*) by Rajatarangini, sequel Black Bond II (WIP) (OFC/Harry. This is absolutely stunning. I actually run out of words for how insanely good this fic is. I just...I'm at a loss. Her writing is out of this world.) Who is Remus Lupin? by Children of the Shadows (Wolfstar. Please, please, please give it a go. Absolutely worth it.)* Because by Anoreyniel (Harry/Luna. It's very, very fluffy and very, very sweet with a tinge of angst.) # Protection From Nargles by Arpad Hrunta (Harry/Luna. The title attracted me to the fic and I simply stayed with it until it finished.)* Under the Nargles by NeonDomino (Neville/Harry. One of my favourite pairings - so little fics though. This was written for me for a Secret Santa competition, and absolutely one of the best relationship developments ever.)* Auribus Teneo Lupum by Shigure-san (*), sequel (*) Auribus Teneo Lupum II: Praeditos (both are excellent. Shigure-san has built up a wealth of werewolf lore and it's beautifully written as well. There is mpreg, but they are an absolutely excellent set of fics.) Basic Needs by Dinkel (*), sequel (*) Basic Wants (both are very well written. It's a Harry-goes-to-Azakaban scenario, so watch out for that. Good Death Eaters and Tom Riddle, but excellently spun. It's really excellent. There is mpreg, and it's quite angsty as well, so if you don't like much angst, please don't go for this one.) 14. Multiple Partners Creature or Soul Bond Fics: (This only refers to the main pairing. In my other lists, there can be a side pairing with multiple partners.) There Be Dragons, Harry by Scioneeris (TBDH is one of the most well-developed fics out there. I was really iffy about it because it wasn't a simple pairing, there was more than one (steadily increasing) person involved. However, it's an inspirational fic and TBDH fans even have their own community. It inspired me to write 'I Stand For Freedom' because of the beauty of the plot - though mine is nowhere near as good -. You've got to read it all in one go, because otherwise you'll lose track of the plot points and characters.) WIP. It starts off Harry Potter/Theodore Nott/Charlie Weasley. Their Phoenix by Lomonaaeren (This was my next foray into poly relationships. Anything Lomonaaeren writes is worth reading. That's all I'm going to say.)* The pairing is Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy/Severus Snape. Trichromatic by Late For The Sky (Very good, believable Time Travel fic. Unusual pairing...but believable! If my foray into multiple partner AUs has done anything, it's made me more open-minded. Give it a go! I'm usually not very big on Time Travel but this is worth a read. Soul Bond of some sort)*. Pairing is Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy/Neville Longbottom. Heart and Soul by Sillimaure (The creature aspect of it isn't really that prominent, but because Fleur Delacour is a Veela I figured that it went into this section. Either way, it's a wonderful, heart-warming story with a beautiful plot. Also, the relationship is between Harry/Fleur and Harry/Hermione, and it's only a friendship between Hermione and Fleur. I'm sorry to anyone poly out there, please enlighten me what that sort of relationship is called! Of almost all the fics in my list, it's the most well-developed one I've ever come across, character development wise. Sillimaure has a great writing style as well.)* The pairing is Harry Potter/Fleur Delacour/Hermione Granger. The Rise of the Drackens by StarLight Massacre and the companion fic The Rise of the Drackens: The Scaled Bits (It's a great example of how successful a fic which is taken over by one author when the prior one abandons it. The story is beautiful for how much Harry cares about his kids and his family. It's seriously AU and the character development is a bit dodgy at times. It becomes seriously OOC and if you don't like mpreg don't read it. But the sheer amount of effort that the author has put into it alone makes it worth at least a chapter of your time - and maybe you'll get hooked like me!) WIP. The pairing is Harry Potter/Blaise Zabini/Draco Malfoy/OMC/OMC. Note: My favourites list is constantly updating itself, so do look out for any new fics. I'll stay as on top of it as I can, but I might fall behind occasionally. I hope that someone finds a use for this! If not, it's always useful for me to have a way to categorise my favourites list. I hope you have fun reading, whether it be my fics or other fics! |
