Mary is gone. In the middle of the night, in the middle of a case, Sherlock finds a way to help John deal with his grief. (General spoilers for ACD Canon. No idea how this may relate to Sherlock: Series 3.)

Dr. John Watson wakes up ill one morning but it is not the 24 hour flu he thinks it was. Soon he lands in hospital, quickly deteriorating and Sherlock must work to find out what has happened to his blogger before it is too late. Case!fic mixed with sick!fic. No slash. There was something to be said about the quiet of the bottom of a well... Things go wrong for John during a case.

Through a short series of emails, John communicates with Sherlock about his time being redrafted in the army overseas in Afghanistan. It starts with a letter, and happens to end with one too.

When John is a bit busy attempting to die, and seems to forget, Sally reminds him of something rather important. Prompt fill.

During a case, John gets attacked and Sherlock and Lestrade find him with a mysterious drug running through the army doctor's veins. A bit of Angst. Hurt. Comfort.

Post Fall, return fic. Sherlock had wanted nothing more than to take down the rest of Moriarty's network with his blogger by his side. But when his planned reunion goes very, very wrong, Sherlock finds himself distrusting and fearful of the one person he thought he could always count on.

"They are not like lovers or brothers or even friends. They just are. They are John and Sherlock. They are beyond definition, or outside it, or they are a category unto themselves." John tries - and fails - to put a label on his relationship with Sherlock.

AU Sherlock&John meeting. When soldier John Watson returns from the war he finds that he and the life he left behind are not the same and he does not know how to return to it. When John goes to end his life on a certain roof he finds that a strange someone is already there ahead of him with the same idea and neither of them want to find a different roof. No slash. Sherlock is sitting in the bathtub - fully dressed - and refuses to get out. Little domestic (no slash) between John and Sherlock with an unexpected outcome. Just a funny little one-shot that crossed my mind, inspired by the picture of the bathtub from Sherlock and John's bathroom that appeared on the internet a couple of days ago.

Picking up where "Afghanistan Comes Home" leaves off, John and Sherlock go to Captain Evans funeral. Events escalate rapidly and suddenly Sherlock finds himself separated from John by thousands of kilometers, as his friend takes part in a special ops rescue mission. In Afghanistan. John is forced to continue living after Sherlock's death, unaware of what is really going on with the remains of Moriarty's web.

He'll wear his promise to Mary on his left hand and his promise to Sherlock on his right. And if John Watson is anything, he is a man of his word.

In between Sherlock's death and return, John struggled. With the help of friends both old and new, John learns how to at least cope with the loss of his best friend. Sherlock believes John to be dead after a case gone wrong and finds nobody to blame but himself. However John is alive, but not well and needs to find his ay back to Sherlock. But the world is a cruel place, especially when you have no memory of who you are and when Moriarty finds John with his mind wiped clean he decided to use the detectives blogger to break his once and for all.

John insists one of the walls of the flat needs to be repainted, and so he drags Sherlock to the hardware store to pick a color. Sherlock, of course, doesn't want to be there and makes things difficult. Will John succeed in his home improvement quest? And will Sherlock convince his blogger to use the color he unexpectedly wants?

Mrs. Hudson always knew that it would end with Lestrade at her door. Two knocks, two visits: first Lestrade, then Mycroft.

Six months probably isn't long enough for John to begin picking up the pieces. Fortunately, Sherlock is trying to ensure that he doesn't have to. But in the meantime, a good old-fashioned friend is already setting up the board for the next round - and this time there's an ominous twist in the story that's more focused on John than Sherlock cares to admit. During an investigation Sherlock gets enjailed after being charged for murder. John attempts to help him any possible way he can, yet all the evidence points to Sherlock. One-shot. Case-fic. Bromance.

When a simple drug-related homicide turns into arson, Sherlock and John are drawn into a twenty-year web of crime, and some lives will never be the same again.

Will Sherlock be able to find his friend before he becomes someone else entirely? John's dream holiday turns into a nightmare for both himself and Sherlock. The story weaves through amnesia, memory fragments, mysteries and flashbacks. Supporting work from Mycroft. Drama, suspense, H/C and platonic love between best friends. Don't be afraid of the length!

Didn't he deserve a day to himself for a change? A day to do what he wanted? A few hours without being chided and bossed and ordered about by his brilliant but annoying flatmate? With no sniffling children or worried mothers? No police lights or crime scene tape? No chaos? Just … sunshine and a chance to relax for a change?

When an ex-con is intent on killing the three witnesses who testified against him, will Sherlock and John (and Mycroft and Lestrade) be able to stop him? The stakes are high - one of the witnesses is a Major Character.

John comes home hypothermic and it's Sherlock's fault (sort of), so he does his awkward best to remedy matters. Gratuitous fluff and h/c. Not slash unless you really want it to be. General sweetness all 'round.

Written for the H/C bingo prompt: job related trauma. Sherlock notices John has been having nightmares, but these are new. (I know that there is a story titled Alone on the Water, and I don't mean to copy that title, because the stories are very different.)

We've all seen The Reichenbach Fall. We know what happened. We know how Moriarty decided to "burn" Sherlock. But what if he had chosen a different way? "Based on John's posture and reaction to what he read in the newspaper, it must be related to his military service. Based on his response to the phone call, it was a Bit Not Good." John hadn't talked for nearly two days, hardly ate, hadn't slept well since he got the phone call, and had been avoiding Sherlock. He wasn't fine. COMPLETE. Sherlock had never had a real friend before, so he was bound to screw up his relationship with John a couple of times. He just had to hope that, in the end, they would come out for the better, and John wouldn't be dead.

Sherlock notices a change in John after the two of them survive a shooting and tries to figure out what's wrong.

Sherlock continues to stare wordlessly at John. His eyes, only minutes ago foggy with sleep and disorientation, are fierce. Intent. Completely awake, and not one bit happy. 'John. Give me the camera. Now.' John takes the camera with him as he turns and runs, laughing.

For once in his life, Sherlock Holmes prayed for a miracle. How else was he supposed to go on without his Boswell? Rated T for violence. No slash x

John doesn't show up to a crime scene. Lestrade wonders if John and Sherlock had a row. Molly knows it's more complicated than that. Complete.

An antique pocket watch, having made it through the Second World War, the First Gulf War and, most recently, Afghanistan, finally loses out to the World's Only Consulting Detective. John waits for an apology, but it's not what he expected. - Oneshot

John Watson was a doctor, trained to observe details; a fact Sherlock had never been more aware of than when a drugged John's lifesaving instructions were based on an unlabeled syringe and an unconscious murder suspect's body.

Small brain, large gun, undisciplined, unpredictable – a novice criminal can be a dangerous thing.

Taken out of context, John Watson leads a terrifying life. You have to wonder what those poor women he dates thinks of it, especially if John decides to try keeping one away from Sherlock, and Sherlock decides that it'd be best if he could get rid of her

or, five times John Watson met Death, and the one time he died.

There are too many coinicidences cropping up in the aftermath of Sherlock's suicide, and John is starting to wonder if everything isn't what it seems.

When John heads overseas for a week, Sherlock's forced to fend for himself. It goes about as well as anyone could have anticipated. Which is to say, very, very poorly. Don't worry, things'll be fine in just seven days.

There's such a thing as trying to give too much comfort, as Sherlock discovers when he bluntly and insistently tries to offer John some 'relief'. Set after 'What Binds Us'. Not slash, but rated T for suggestive themes and snogging.

Mycroft uses his position to bring Sherlock and John behind the scenes on a potential political deal. But a single gala event quickly becomes a puzzle that Sherlock, John, and Sarah must unravel to expose the secrets of powerful men.

The funny thing about death is that no matter how prepared you are for it, it always comes as a surprise. A one shot set in the same series as Years Months Weeks Days, enjoy!

London is hit with a deadly flu epidemic, but John slowly begins to suspect that there is a more human agency at work. He, Sherlock, and Sarah must work together in order to identify and track down a ruthless killer.

John truly is sorry for letting Sherlock down. The only thing he wanted to do was finish the case, but bleeding out in a dark alley makes it harder for him to pursue that murderer running out of sight.

'Come on, come on,' he screams internally, putting more pressure on John's wound. The man has been dead for at least fifteen seconds now. He knows the statistics, and it's terrifying. He can only hope emergency services will arrive on time.

John wanted to go to a party: Sherlock decided that the best time to catch criminals is Christmas Eve. Turns out you can get shot outside of the army, too. When John takes a turn for the worse, Sherlock begins thinking about Christmas miracles. One-Shot.
