![]() Author has written 12 stories for Twilight. I'm a wife and proud mother to two beautiful boys who could not be more different as they've matured into magnificent adults. I'm still married and still working hard. I saw the first Twilight movie with my youngest. He thought it was okay but I had been weaned on vampire movies when I was a kid. Devouring the first three books and desperately waiting for the fourth to come out, I realised I'd forgotten the enjoyment of reading for pleasure while my children were little. I don't remember how I found "Midnight Sun," but it was frustrating that Ms Meyer never finished it. It still disappoints me that after all these years and the squillion dollars she made from her fans, that she can't complete it when she knows the story and that we want to hear it from Edward's POV. Anyway, I somehow found links to fanfiction stories, and it was like finding gold. After reading 'Stranger Than Fiction' and 'Unexpected Circumstances', I was hooked. Since then, I've devoured some really great stories, let the housework go and lost myself in the fiction world. To all of the writers who upload what comes from your wonderful imaginations, a big thank you. You are inspiring. After being a reader for years, I wrote a story that was angsty and raw, uploaded very naively without a beta. Finding Edwards Beachlover via reviews in September 2012, I have to thank her for everything, especially her friendship. Vampyregirl86 came on board in June 2013 and she's been invaluable in finding my Aussieisms. I tell you there are many, too! It's like a frigging different language some days. LayAtHomeMom hooked me up with Hadley Hemingway in 2014 and I thank her for all the help she has given me. FicWhisperer (Kennedy Nicole Maddock) picked Baby Whisperer as her host choice in the May to December Contest and it started a great friendship. She reads nearly everything I write now, and I continue to follow her "less is best" principle. Alice's White Rabbit (Sally Hopkinson) has been kind enough to help me when I was in need, and her work is all class. I hope to work with her more in the future. With my pre-reader, Ipsita and beta, SarcasticBimbo, we submitted two stories to the Control. Possess. Seduce. Contest. We had fun and won some awards for "Home for the Harvest." Vampyregirl86 was along for that ride as well. They all helped me win a bunch of awards in the Commander in Chief Contest for my entry "Inauguration Day." Currently, I'm working on a couple of stories that are based on real life. The first chapter of 'Up, Up and Away' introduced me to Midnight Cougar's wonderful talent at editing and was my donation for the Babies at the Border Compilation. Then Ipsita allowed me to use her characters to write a second chapter of 'Christmas Dreaming' to record the terrible 2019 Australian bushfire season. I donated it to Australian Bushfires Compilation, and there is another chapter coming if I can ever stop being distracted by this terrible pandemic we are all going through together. Thanks to all of you for your faith in me and your gentle criticism (encouragement). The Girl From The Imperial Theatre (pulled to be re-written) My first story was raw - a huge learning curve. I uploaded most of it in one go, without a beta, not having a clue what I was doing. I'm determined to make it into the story I wanted it to be one day. |
