Hi - I have loved Gone with the Wind since I first saw the film at 9 years old and read the book for the first time when I was 11. It is my favourite book and film - even though I know it is not politically correct and feminists are often up in arms at the glamorisation of the "rape" scene (still can't see how it is rape...). I loved Margaret Mitchell's rich characterisation - not just of the 4 central characters (5 if you include Mammy) but the other minor ones too. In my heart, I believe that Rhett came back to Scarlett quite simply because when you are obsessively in love with someone as much as he was with her, I don't believe his love for her died a death - I think it might have lain dormant for a while but if he had thought that any other man might have his one true love, I think he would have woken up to the fact he still loved her. In my view, he just needed time to grieve...

I am a mid 30s something lawyer based in London and have always loved writing. Maybe one day I will write a book that is all my own!

I am so chuffed I managed to finish my first fanfic - Six Months Later - and know that every time I got an alert to tell me someone had reviewed, it spurred me on to keep writing and not to abandon the story. At the moment, I am taking a short break from GWTW fanfic writing but will finish One Night shortly. I also have a couple of other fanfics for GWTW in my head - one based in the 1930s and one based in GWTW time (I have already plotted out the 5 chapters) - both sequels. I hope to write them some day - if I don't tire of GWTW!
