Oh what a tangled web Rosemary weaved when first she practiced to deceive her own brother. Now Rhett knows it broke Scarlett’s heart that he didn’t go to her. Rosemary and Suellen are both rotten to their core.

What did Rhett expect? Scarlett doesn’t owe him a moment of her time.
It was Rhett, who divorced Scarlett. It was Rhett, who married again.

Scarlett needed to hear what her desertion cost her two children.
Scarlett was wrong to dump Wade and Ella on Suellen, who truly is a vile woman.

Circumstances have taken quite a turn in more ways than one.

Wade has amazingly discovered the whereabouts of his long-lost Mother!

Rhett is being such a jerk. Did Wade take on the camillas to offset his loss on the overabundance of cotton? It’s good to see Wade and Ella getting along well together after having been abandoned years ago.

Rosemary is a rude and wicked witch! What a senseless waste of time for Wade.

Wade “would not think about it now” is one sentiment he has in common with his mother.

The confrontation between Rhett and Wade was weirdly fulfilling. He not only left Scarlett but her children as well. People sometimes forget that children have a long memory and Wade made clear all the damage Rhett caused. Ella's slip finally gets Rhett to act, which he does with haste and threats. All signs of a man with regrets...The last few chapters, including Rhett's arrival in Ireland and Wade's rescue of Cat, were creatively dramatic. In the end this story concluded as it should have - with Rhett and Scarlett together. Thanks for sharing.

I was starting to get quite impatient for a Rhett and Scarlett reunion. It's interesting that Wade still wants to protect his mother, after all, that's happened. Their meeting was so well written but I felt myself growing frustrated with Rhett that he had been hoping for years that Scarlett was thinking about him...maybe she would have if you hadn't divorced her.

Like other reviewers mentioned, I pictured the reunion between Wade and Scarlett differently. Those children were abandoned by her so I expected Wade to be angry or resentful. At least she had the decency to tell Wade the truth of what happened between her and Rhett. I should feel upset that Anne has died right? Ella is right to be angry at Scarlett's abandonment of her and Wade, but I wonder why she didn't feel the same anger at Rhett? Your description of their life after Scarlett left was heartbreaking. The confrontation between mother and daughter was well done.

I have to commend you on the obvious research you've undertaken in order to write this story. As for Ella's personality, she has obviously grown up and under less than normal circumstances. The fact that Rhett decided to share the truth with Ella is quite interesting but the distance between Rhett and both children is heartbreaking given how much they seemed to love their Uncle Rhett. I'm going to ignore Anne's pregnancy for now. I can't wait to find out what Scarlett has been up to all these years… very dramatic introduction.

I resisted reading Scarlett until just last year, and the horrid plot is still fresh in my mind. I hated that Ripley had Scarlett abandon Wade and Ella but this is an interesting premise. If only seven years have gone by Wade seems a little young still to be this successful but then again he is Scarlett's offspring. Rosemary is downright nasty and I just can't bring myself to like Anne (I'll never understand Ripley's nonsensical choices). The early exchanges between Rhett and Wade were believably awkward given the storyline. I'm glad that Rhett felt guilt over abandoning Wade and Ella but I don't think handing over his empire to Wade will fix anything. I'm also downright happy that Anne cannot have any children. I am interested to see where you take this story.
