Author has written 42 stories for Kingdom Hearts, Warcraft, Vocaloid, Hunger Games, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Greek Mythology, and World Ends With You. Hello, whoever is reading this :) Thanks for checking out my profile! News Update from a land down under: Suddenly my friends-from-the-web begin to return to classes... and I remember that their summer is my winter :P Daaarp. A tad of information about me: - Female - Chilean - pardon any misuse of the English language please! - Gamer (I guess) - Reads a lot Felt in a mood for leaving a record of my current existence. Ergo, I’m riffing the pretty profile ‘base’ that Raberba Girl has on her lj. It’s one of the most complete ones without being like- what’s your name/age/country blah blah blah. Sorry? And if you want to ask about anything said below, you sure can :) And argue back a bit even, so long as you’re nice about it. Now let’s go! Religion: Ooh… Okay, I’m… some weird form of catholic. Believe in Jesus, God and the Virgin Mary (last one is really important for personal reasons), although the Bible is read more like a set of guidelines than the one true path. And I can’t go to Mass without falling asleep, although that might just be my rotten luck- some services are quite nice, and I know a bunch of hymns and do some stuff… As for general spiritual life view… I seek/believe in balance. There’s light, there’s dark and we all live in between. Some I’ve seen are more in contact with the ‘light’ side of stuff, some more with the ‘dark’. In the end, neither is good nor bad, the important thing is respecting both and adapting to whichever you are at the moment. And to whichever you want to be in the future. (On hindsight, that sounds like books and video games. But it makes more sense to me than philosophy-school version thereof. :P ) School: Currently there. Not for long though, but I’m still there. Long way to go in student-hood. Out of school, I study Japanese. Work: Am jobless. At times, have tutored little siblings when asked, but I really don’t have a job. Might get one later on. Scratch that, will get one later on. Derpy me. To do lists & errands: Professional at procrastinating. I’ll even procrastinate at listing the things at which I am currently procrastinating. (And if you made a drinking game with that word, you might end up in the ER. Please don’t do it!) Email: ; I… well, apart from forum going, e-mail’s quite quiet. It’s okay though :) Love life: … okay, this might get long and teenage-emo-ish. Yeah, despite me. And, in keeping up with the traditional spirit of the question, I’m taking it as ‘romance’. Simply put, I really can’t handle/believe in more than platonic, at least for me. At a personal level, I can barely comprehend deep platonic bonds in real situations, much less hold one coherently. My friends are awesome, and I really love them beyond belief but… okay, I refuse to rant here. Point is, if I can’t handle one type, trying to juggle between two is simply too much. Heck, I can read about romance, squee a little and even make some potshots at writing it, but my ‘inner muses’ snigger when I try. They love me but think I’m insane when I do it heehee. And I have a ‘gift’ for ending up warding people away. And here’s where I knock on wood, pray a little (lot) and shut up, ‘cos I don’t want it happening too much more. On a lighter note, I don’t feel much attraction. Towards either gender, and I suppose that that does it for romance. For the moment, at least. In short – if someone asks, I’m looking for friendship. Romance can wait… and will probably remain low priority for a long, long while. Hobbies: Reading (anything- from blogs, to fics, to books, to anything with text in it :P ), making some fics which aren’t that great, trying to get my muses for the one original story I have off their rear ends and working (right now, they want drabbles…). Love manga, various videogames, anime and trying to haxx0r music off the internet (‘cos else it’s way too hard and I don’t have the money, even if I like it legal). Oh yeah, and I’m always up for some good-natured discussion about anything really… I prefer if I know what are we speaking about though :) Right now, going through a KH phase. With some Rurouni and Homestuck thrown in. The latter taking strength, but I guess there's not much can take me away from a 'verse of 'friendship' except another one. Can fangirl on HP, some Final Fantasies (VII, IX, X, XIII, Type-0), The World Ends With You (I freaking love it, but can’t write much about it, go figure), Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles/Cardcaptor Sakura, Condorito (Chilean comic), a bit of Twilight… and I kinda make an effort to find out about anything. As for the usual controversial subjects… so long as it isn’t actual politics (elections and etc.), I have no problem with the theme. Any of ‘em. And the only reason I ‘ban’ politic talk is because I’m assuming that we’re not from the same country. Also because I have no political standing- think that if I’m merely an illusion for society, politics have it down to a codified art form. They live off promising and doing as little as possible, Pete’s sake. Fanfiction: I swear, I ended up with an alter-ego due to this. i.e. – seriously invested in this, but I regret nothing. Write a bit, but in my own opinion I’m awful at this (still. And I recommend not reading my really really early fics, ‘cos if they’re there is as testament to my hyper-n00b days). Original stories: I have ONE! It’s on dA, and it was on FictionPress, but it’s kinda not read too much (I seriously doubt the one on FP ever got hits). I still like it, even if it moves at glacial pace and all that. For the record, it’s “I and Zoey”, grammar incorrectness intentional for some unknown reason my muses still have to inform me of. That’s all folks. And I know, I should be filling up the fandom thing underneath this, but I’m still procrastinating. Am going to do so for a long, long time ;) Oh yeah- as of now some time(for you guys and girls, my friend who has sent me on the craziest fics) also has her own corner of the art-verse, as MiikiChanDesuu. Her art is mostly cute stuff, but she can be persuaded to draw some other things. (I'd know- I have folders with my personal requests from her ;) And as of now, I'm the owner of an Ansem-kitty, courtesy of Amatus. Said kitty only has eight lives remaining as of this count, and isn't too shabby for being a polymorphed person-of-mass-insanity. So, after insane mental debating, I decided that hell, a bit of my fandom ranting and awe-expressing might not be that out of place here, so... yeah. This will be filled in properly at later, undefined dates, but a start for now doesn't hurt, right? Main fandoms I write/read frequently for: Kingdom Hearts, Hunger Games, Warcraft Fandoms I enjoy taking an occasional look at: Final Fantasy (VII, IX, XIII, Dissidia), Vocaloid, Harry Potter (one of these days, I'll write a nice long thing for HP... someday, if I decide that the fandom isn't as scary as my mind makes it out to be). Any preferences? I'll go for mostly whatever, bar... well, if it is well-written and the grammar doesn't hurt, I'll probably end up taking a look at it. Fairly wide category- might balk at lemons or extreme gore (as in, someone lovingly describing the path of every last droplet of blood sent flying off). Aside from that, challenge accepted... (I'll probably regret that line later, but meh until that happens!). Hetalia: Okay. To be absolutely honest, I am no great fan of this. Can watch it and I have been known to burst into random bouts of giggling... but actually doing fan-stuff for it is not my thing. I find the idea of the show creative, but I seriously don't have a grasp of history anywhere near the requirements to enjoy this show. And all the yaoi going on bothers me- and I can sail almost literally anything- mostly because of the vitriol between groups. As for the characters themselves... funnily enough, I like them, but not care too much for them. Maybe it's the comedy sense of the whole thing, maybe it's because in the end, they're alright (as far as I can see, most of those countries still exist somewhere). So yeah- I can go all 'whoa cool/cute/random squee', but it's not going to latch on for too long. Some scenes are heavy on me though. The American Revolution one sticks out, because I'm such an elder sibling. Russia being nearly always 'forever alone' and creepy. America and the weight issues, Japan and the social skills issue. Sealand and his lack of recognition (... should count as a country, but he'd better get more people to be sure). Those are the lasting cases of empathy here, despite the lack of massive reactions. Only thing I will be constantly annoyed with is this: I want more countries. In focus: more of Asia, some serious South American cameos, and I'm not entirely sure Australia & New Zealand have been included. If Chile makes it in beyond us nutty fans, I'll dance (but that's on the height of impossible, so...) On to the usual individual-character thing, shall we? America: I gotta say, this is a nice stereotype. Rounded character, even if I so didn't expect much of him at the very beginning (as a premise running on a couple stereotypes), but he's lovable. Of freaking course, the fandoms regarding this guy are a mess, and all the pairings don't help at all. Plus, I personally think he can be a bit too dense to realize that type of stuff... England is my other fave character (dun dun duunnn). Mostly just because - maybe it's the minor feats of lol-magic, or the 'radical' backstory (who knew teenage years meant sea-piracy and stuff... well, 'sides from those who pay attention in history classes), or seeing fantasy creatures everywhere. Or his elder-sibling streak. That has to be it: I am such a sucker for elder siblings generally, and double points for not being idiots/meanhats/outright evil. He isn't either, 'sides from a bit unbalanced, so... Again, because this is Hetalia, the pairing people are insane. This guy has it nearly worst of all, in my opinion, because he gets paired with everyone/thing. And it's sort of annoying... oh, by the way, I'm not going to repeat the 'pairing for this is crazy' rant... at least for Hetalia... from here on in. To not bore your hats off! Then there's the other elder brother, a.k.a China. Who I spent about half a season thinking he was just a masculine she (and having a female voice actor definitely didn't help matters at all). Generally cool, although he doesn't get many moments to show his sibling-hood. Fights with a damn wok, which has to be one of the most creative weapon ideas ever. And as far as having depth goes... who knew? Then again, I suppose that people with a more-than-passing interest in history lessons would've imagined it, China having a pretty long one and all. Italy(ies), I love 'em, but it doesn't go too deep. That's true for most of them, now that I think about it, and it's a repeat of what I said above. Germany, I can empathize at times, with the whole relationship awkwardness at least. And Prussia is one of the most awesome pseudo-ghosts ever. Canada too! Canada is pretty nice too, when he makes it on scene that is :P Homestuck: A.K.A., one of the things that has taken my heart by storm. Not quite to KH levels, but coming close. Maybe it's because there are more characters I can empathize with rather than deeply like, or because it has a pretty interesting relationship value system. I'm pretty certain I have fallen in deep like with the kids, the trolls, the exiles, the guardians and the author avatar. And I'm barely at the end of Act Five (which had one of the best freaking 'cutscenes' I will ever see. What in the hells.) Now, thing with me is, I don't really play favorites with characters. I have a reserve of 'I like them' for all pretty deep if I get into the stories well enough, and the way of liking them changes to suit my needs there (crappy explanation go!). And believe me when I say, the cast I like is _large, and it isn't even the full cast out there. So maybe for now, I won't do a character-by-character thing here. Just know that in some way, I sincerely like most of them. And about this fandom in particular, if you want to PM me about anything... well, I don't really mind spoilers, but pretty please don't bombard me with them constantly. At least, not if you're doing it just for the sake of spoiling. Add some of your own thoughts in as well, and we're all good Warcraft: This has been the fandom that catapulted me into this whole thing. Fic posting dates be thrown into the Twisting Nether. WoW was my first foray into MMORPGs, Warcraft was a hilarious time spent with cousins huddled close to a screen and abusing cheat codes (we were all actually there for the story anyways and the kiddies wanted to utterly own anything in the map. Good times, good times.) So I think it fitting that it becomes the first filled-out thing here. (Chronologically speaking- I'm going to try and keep this alphabetical for the peace of my OCD'ing mind). First of all, a couple dedicatories for people who have been awesome: - A friend of mine, who, if she ever finds this (and please, if you do, it’s a secret!), I want her to know that Aurie’s based off an artistic-licensed her. From way back when I didn’t know much of you, the sports you liked or the French/Spanish courses. She’ll pop up more often, I swear, when my main toon’s version also gets more chapter screen-time. So a grand cheer to the pink-haired gnome warlock who made me laugh in raids and kicked titan behind when we crashed the WotLK raids with a main group raid. - The gals that have always been there- or Nalu, Ledai, Ritsu, Xishiori. You know who you are, you know how we ended up linking all our characters together and the insane parties we pulled in WoW- costumes, digital alcohol, contests and being groupies for the band because you all loved the instruments. And laughing like hell when I got a couple of books and showed you a couple tricks. Or the hiding spots, or missing the middle floor of Shattrath, or bugging the hell out of tanks. I could probably thank you in most categories, but I’m doing it here- so no arguing later on! - The tank that has been with us since a long, long time. Man, you really didn’t know what you got yourself in when you introduced me here. And ideally, you’ll not find out about this. I know you aren’t good at being secretive about, well, anything really. Still, loads of love your way. - And obviously, the bunches of people who write, read, play and just are a part of the game. You’re the inspiration, battery and padding of everything. Keep it the hell up! That said, now to what is more game-centered… Characters: Really don’t mind most things. If an OC or trans-located character… hell, I’ve done that. Most of us have. And if I can ‘bond’ with him/her/it… then I bond and love or hate appropriately. That said, if you make the names pronounceable or flesh them out in detail, much better! And try to remember that this *is* a multi-player experience, even when we’re accustomed to being stars on our own- a bit of help lets you make a cast of awesome people and get stories moving. As for the fixed lore characters, they do need a bit more info. I like both Horde and Alliance roughly equally, so no bias! Alliance first (because it starts with an A and I’m a tad OCD’ing if nothing else): Varian is, from my perspective, an awkward father to the max. Between the split personality, temper issues and time away from kid, expected. But man, do the books make that way too obvious. Or a chain that has lil’ Anduin trekking around Stormwind (points to the boy for that and healer-dom! I like myself my brave, kindhearted guys…) Still, Varian is undiluted badass, and if he only got around to using the calmer side of his personality more (like that one time in Icecrown Citadel), he’d be better still. Jaina I’ve freaking loved since a long time- believe it was from Warcraft, when I got the Hero Mage unit. She’s intelligent, still somewhat emotional and has everyone’s best interests at heart, or so it seems to the player. I once remember seeing an argument for the contrary and it was interestingly posed, but I forgot/lost the link… sorry for that. Think it’s still out there in the internet somewhere. Going back to previous idea, the understanding of situations and hands-on-ness of Jaina impressed me, and I really like her character. (Although the height of it was in the Undercity quest chain, when she froze-and-teleported both sides to cool off the conflict. And provided the best buffs ever. And went all diplomatic. Guess she did get to show off everything!) Magni… I was always ambivalent, but one of my friends had a massive soft spot for him for unknown reasons. Muradin was pure awesome sauce though- pocket-sized Indiana Jones and drunker to boot, hacker extraordinaire and beating the adventurers to the dungeons since… can’t remember. Good times, good times. For Harrison Jones, there is a similar argument- I was a fan of the books and movies a long time ago, when I found some old books. Seeing him in a game I played was fun, and having my character tag along was a hilarious experience (whole of Uldum, here’s to you- Zul’Aman, here’s a double-hat-off to you as well, for actually granting me loot!) Tyrande and Malfurion… they have gotten the characterization shaft hard. Sucks to be them in WoW, but they were badass in the books and Warcraft. War of the Ancients was a favorite for a long, long time to the point of a cover permanently half-folded and knowing where the battles were in the text. And I replayed the campaigns a couple of extra times just for the hell of it and having the insane Battle Couple in action. Plus, it’s nice to see at least one relation that actually worked, although… Man, sucks even worse to be Illidan. If someone tells me that Mal was marginally older, I’ll be happy- tired of the ‘inferior elder sibling’ cliché rife in media. And if not… well, both were awesome, even if Illidan did go down the beaten path and go insane. Loved that boss fight when I got there (and the Council was by far the most effective roadblock I’ve ever seen), and the Memento of Tyrande drop had me staring at the tooltip for a couple seconds longer. How he kept that beats me, and I believe that there is fan art on the official website of demonic!Illidan with the flower. Velen got even more of the characterization shaft than the night elves- which led to me not really caring about him. The trio of Vindicators on Bloodmyst Isle though? Those were epic- ran all my Alliance girls through the zone just for the people there, even if I wasn’t interested on the mount or anything for most of them. Hated viciously on the blood elves there though, especially the damned path-blocking elite. It was very cathartic to watch him get the best end of the pwn-hammer at the hand of one of the Vindicators. And because I made a passing mention of the other elves already, my view on Kael is a love/hate thing of epic proportions. Just ask Nalu and Xishiori- they know all about it. Hated the voice files, laughed my head off at the romantic fail, clapped at the moments of wit. Cheered for a good minute straight when I got the phoenix spell in Warcraft, liked him better when he was loyal to a damn side… And this guy’s story made me want to personally kick Garithos’s ass. Really- and he’s the only guy I remember ever came close to a swear word. Totally deserved, even to the cut-off – Kael was still a prince after all ;) Arthas, even when good, was a complete idiot, squared, cubed, to the nth. Face-palmed through most of his decisions, although the fall from grace was interesting. And I guess I got pissed off when he kind of forgot all about his little sister and friends for some reason. As for Tirion… he’s too much of the idealized knight in shining armor. Rousing speeches, the light at his beck and call, pretty enough to have passably similar statues. The clichés annoy me a bit, but he is tolerable. Liked Koltira and Thassarian from the moment I had to go through the Death Knight quest to rescue Koltira. Then from the huge quest line in Andorhal, in which the levels of friendship between them frankly knocked me away. The way that it’s strong enough to even match Alliance/Horde loyalties and conflict is… touching, in a way. I've never really liked Death Knights as a class though... wonder why. Asric and Jadaar remind me so much of me and my friends that it is just plain funny to watch them bicker. Maybe they based them off professional teenagers, maybe we just act ridiculous, but the familiarity is neat. And we’ve gotten the Horde involved here as well, so might as well go on with this. Magatha, for being a complete bastard, I loved her. The pragmatism displayed was awesome and, apart from the bursts of rage, she would’ve made a really compelling villain. Makes- sorry, my bad there. Although, that being said, it doesn’t excuse her dirty killing of Cairne- that was a low blow to us players. Cue rage- I liked the old bull too. Bairne is nice as well, with his mediating attitude that gets showcased in the books a lot. Thrall is all-around epic, even if he did get swelled to disbelief-breaking levels at the end of the Cataclysm storyline (same as Rhonin and Vereesa got in WotLK, I guess). And Aggra, much as I liked her no-nonsense attitude and all, was just too out-of-the-blue for me to truly bond. Not that she wasn’t well dealt with, but shoving her in with all the connections to the characters hastily strung up and set in stone, having her run around with the main plot… it was jarring, to say the least. I am no hater of her, but… yeah. If she gets more screen time than a couple novels and quest lines, it’ll be better for the fans. Garrosh I dislike a lot though, or as much as apathy allows. Don’t cheer for him, at least. He’s too brash, too hasty and doesn’t think a damn thing through. Kicked the trolls and goblins out, has failed to really communicate well with the rampant Undead and the blood elves… well, those don’t really count as they’ve always been aloof, but yeah. Tactically a mess, and for me, how tactics are played out tends to make me like characters more for some reason… Magatha’s proof of that. Sylvanas… I liked her better up until halfway through to WotLK, then Cataclysm idiocy set in and she lost the glamour. Looked a lot like my night elf with the ancient model, and it was the source of a bunch of laughs around here when it was up. Her story is a long line of tissues used (nah, that’s more of my sister’s thing, but you get the idea), and I particularly like the way that she was loyal and determined when alive. The way the latter quality got transferred to when dead, the pragmatism displayed. When she was more on the tactics ball, she was one of my favorites. Now that place goes to Shandris Feathermoon from the Alliance. Mida Silvertongue was the best thing that happened on the WoW forums and while I never posted due to a couple technical issues, I followed that thread almost with a passion. Seeing her in-game was exhilarating, although I did find myself wishing that she ended up with the formal trade Prince job. She is such in my mind, same as Bowie has all the awesome the forums also granted him and Janx has the secret agent angle still. If Blizzard ever decides to give them those personalities, it will be awesome! The blood elf leaders… they are a huge meh. Don’t do a damn thing apart from the epic blade quest line which I was never lucky enough to see and anyways, being so inactive is pathetic. That is pretty much the only time we see them in action, and it involves one of them being punted by the sword across the Sunwell. And Grom was undiluted awesome- from the monument in Ashenvale to the participation in the books and Warcraft, that guy had me cheering my voice hoarse. I really don’t want to go around giving a run-down of that, so you’ll have to just Google it up if you don’t know. Don’t worry, it’s fun anyways! As for the bunch of miscellaneous characters… Chromie is the best dragon ever, even if the gender is unknown. Pamela’s was the saddest story line I ever participated in. I cheered my head off for the caravan people in the zone as well- picking them up was neat, and seeing them interact together was… cute, in a way. Kalecgos was a local favorite for a long, long time: for me due to his caster-ish nature, for my friends for the sappy love story (which was a pretty good manga). Point was, reading about his job raise was cool, dragon was easy to bond with and just… yeah. The red dragons have gone just a bit of a force-of-good cliché, but they are still awesome- epic healing fires! The paradox of that is amusing, to say the least, and for some reason I’ve always liked Alexstrasza – maybe because I found out her role as technically-best-healer, maybe for some other undetermined thing. Krasus I never liked much- too powerful in the books for just a side character and Sue-ish to use the internet term. But at least he pulled off some incredible spell casting! Just if you want to, but I'm open for chats and such... PM me if you want. Random Story Status Updates: Enter the Thief: It's roughly on the midpoint/beginning of end.
