9/8/13 - As of now, I am planning on posting another chapter for both In Her Name and Masked Intrigue. How soon that might be, I cannot say - school has been a lot more taxing than I thought it would be these past few years. Once I do post the next chapter for each respective story, though, I will be looking for someone to either adopt or co-author these stories with me. I know there are people out there who have subscribed to my stories, and I thank you for that. Your curiosities will be sated, I promise. But I can no longer devote the time to these fics that I would like to, so I'm going to need help. If anyone happens upon this and is interested, please let me know. Many thanks!

Fave Books - too many to actually name. included are Jane Eyre, the Wicked series, anything by Shakespeare, Meg Cabot, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens...

Fave Movies - Again, too many...Toy Story, Stardust, Inception, Pride & Prejudice (2005), Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Phantom of the Opera (2004), Tron: Legacy...

Fave Musical - Les Miserables. it was Wicked, but I have only recently seen Les Mis, and it blew my effing mind! :D Right behind that are Chess, Wicked, Mary Poppins, Aida, Phantom of the Opera (not necessarily in that order!)

Fave Play - Richard III by William Shakespeare. If you want an out-of-his-mind lunatic who kills his whole family to get to the throne, Richie is you man. Seriously, though, I saw this play, and my whole outlook on Shakespeare changed. No longer are his romances and comedies my favorites! No, my heart belongs to to evil, scheming Richard III! Right behinnd him though, is Troilus & Cressida, also by the Bard. Love their romance even more than Romeo & Juliet.

Fave Shows - Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Once Upon A Time, Castle, Doctor Who, Body of Proof, the Mentalist, New Girl, Bones, Criminal Minds, Being Human (BBC), SNL, CSI: NY, Ugly Betty,

Fanfiction Pet Peeve - If you're going to write a story in first person, please keep in mind the voice of the character. If you're writing New Girl fics in Jessica's POV, don't forget to throw some quirks in her dialogue. If you're writing in Sherlock's POV, don't make him say things like "gonna" and "wanna". I cannot stand it when the voice of the canon character doesn't come through. If your story is going to be believable, ask yourself "Would they really say that?" Just a friendly reminder :)

Trivia Tidbit About My Writing - I always write my stories (or anything, for that matter, except school papers) on paper first. It just seems to flow better for me that way. Who knows why, I'm half-crazy.

Who I Ship -Some of it I write, most of it I read. You'll notice alot of noncanon shippings here. That's what I love about fanfiction. If I don't like how the writers do things, never fear! Someone here will save me and give me the ending I so desire!

5/26/11 - I read the script to Oz: The Great and Powerful just the other day! It seems like it should be a pretty good movie! Although I'm not sure James Franco should be playing young Oscar Diggs. He just doens't seem great anbd powerful enough.

7/21/12 - So yeah, I had my master class with Ashley Brown. You know, just the original Mary Poppins on Broadway! NBD!!! Oh, Ashley was just the sweetest person you could ever hope to meet. She answered all my questions so nicely. We took a picture, and when I fawned over her, she was so lovely to me and gave me a hug! Plus, she was so patient with us when she taught us some Supercalifragilistic... choreography. Hopefully I'll cross paths with her someday!

1/17/13 - Found out a while ago, but forgot to share. My high school choir teacher, whom I adore and still see regularly, told us that her sister was one of the vocal coaches for Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe on the set and in rehearsals of Les Miserables. She went with her sister to London and was on the set during filming thru the whole thing and was there for the premiere. She likes to make her students jealous :)

9/9/13 - This also happened a few months ago, so forgive, but I'm telling you now. I met Sierra Boggess. And I have never met a more relaxed, chill person on my life. She is so completely down to earth and laid back. As she spoke to is, it felt like she was just having a conversation with her friends. And of course, she's beautiful! She very nicely signed my 25th Anniversary POTO & Love Never Dies DVDs. She's super cool, you guys.

1/17/13 - My Brief Thoughts on the Cast of the Les Miserables Film, Before and After

Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean

BEFORE - He could definitely pull it off. I've heard his singing (as any true Jackman fan should), and his potential for this role is amazing. And the fact that he'll be taking pointers from and working with Colm Wilkinson...I expect greatness from this man, and so far in his career, he always delivers.

AFTER - Unlike several of my friends and the world in general it seems, I was a bit disappointed with Hugh's performance. I felt like he tried to make his performance a copy of what Colm Wilkinson's Valjean is. Which Might have been fine if Hugh's vocal range was the same/similar to Colm's. But I felt like he strained himself on several songs, most notably Bring Him Home I was so hoping they would transpose the song to fit his range, but alas, it was not to be. Although I do have to say, Hugh really got me at the very beginning and the very end. His musical interpretations along with his acting during the Prologue, What Have I Done, and the Epilogue just blew me away. He did as well as he could have possibly done, which was done well, but I just felt a bit disappointed with his singing. Sad :(

Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert

BEFORE - I'm a tad more skeptical about this casting. We all know he's a hell of an actor - Beautiful Mind, anyone? But as to his singing, I've never actually heard it. I know he's in a rock band, so at least he's got some sort of experience. But as we know, rockers don't always transfer over well into movie-musicals. But I'm willing to be convinced. We shall see...

AFTER - Again, unlike most people who were wary and dreading his performance, I was actually rather impressed with Crowe. Obviously his voice wasn't the greatest thing I'd ever heard, but unlike Hugh, he used what he had and made the performance his own. He didn't try to sound like Philip Quast, but instead gave Javert a certain subtlety that I adored. And although his voice wasn't amazing, it wasn't awful, either. He knew his capacity, and worked with what he had. I commend him on a fantastic overall performance. I was defintely convinced.

Anne Hathaway as Fantine

BEFORE - UGH! I have nothing against Anne Hathaway. Her acting is pretty good, and her singing is, at worst, passible. I just really didn't want her in this role. I cannot see her playing a desperate mother resorting to prostitution for her child. And her recent miscasting as "sexy" Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises just has me generally miffed at her. Overall, the worst casting decision made. And that's not so bad...I just didn't want her for this. But I'll survive, I guess.

AFTER - I stand before you today, eating my words. What a knockout! Holy shit, I am sorry I ever said a bad word about her. Anne's complete commitment to the role was astounding. Though many people complained about her version of IDAD not being "pretty" enough, I found the song to be more real than ever before. I really felt as though she was despairing about her life, about how far she has fallen. Oh my God, and her death scene, holy mother of God! Unbelievably heart-wrenching. Just wonderful. Hats off to Anne! Fingers crossed for that Oscar!

Sacha Baron Cohen as Thenardier

BEFORE- Possibly brilliant. Admittedly, in the process, his name would have never even crossed my mind. I was gunning for Geoffrey Rush. But once he was announced, I realized, he has the potential to be amazing. Both menacing yet comedic, as is his forte. And since this role isn't pivotally reliant on singing (as we saw Matt Lucas do), he can so pull it off. So I'm kind of excited for this!

AFTER - According to my former teacher, SBC showed up late to rehearsals, filming, and knew almost none of his lines. She found him to be incredibly rude. But what else can you expect from Borat? Nevertheless, I liked his take on Thenardier. He played up the sort of nonchalance with which Thenardeir goes about robbing people, like its the most normal thing in the world, which to him, it probably is. That's his trade. And his singing is what was expected - nothing spectacular, but right for the role.

Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thenardier

BEFORE- My first thought was 'Oh, great. More HBC.' But I'm starting to see the appeal. Again, not a role heavily reliant on the singing skills (IMO, she just slid by in Sweeney Todd), but she can defintiely do the cunning wife of a thief. She's got cunning down to an art form. I can live with this.

AFTER - Pretty much the same as with SBC. It was a standard performance of the Thenardiess. nothing extraordinary, but it got the job done. Though I did fell as though in the film, HBC wore the pants in the Thenardier relationship. Interesting.

Amanda Seyfried as Cosette

BEFORE- Not my first choice, but I am willing to give her a chance. She herself said in an interview that this will be a completely different beast than Mamma Mia! Her siningi was pretty good in that, and if she's willing to go through the training for Cosette, then I am willing to give her the opportunity to prove herself.

AFTER - I'll admit, I did like her more in this performance than I was expecting to. But once again, we get so little of Cosette that it's hard to pass judgement on so little. But overall a job well done. She did sound quite pretty in A Heart Full of Love.

Eddie Redmayne as Marius

BEFORE- Acting wise, he can most definitely play this role, particularly if he takes some of what he did in My Week With Marilyn and put that into his scenes with Cosette. Vocally, I have also not heard him sing, but hey. If he can get by Cameron Mackintosh and Tom Hooper to pick him, then I will watch. Psh, with that pout of his, I'd watch him if he sounded like a parrot. (Not true, but he is a looker!)

AFTER- Oh Lord have mercy! I don't think there's ever been a time where I enjoyed a Marius that much. His voice proved to be one of the best vocals in the movie for me, and he shows such a love for Cosette, and such a passion for the rebellion, it's unbelievable. The only thing that ticked me off during Eddie's performance was his reaction when Eponine died. He really didn't seem all tht devastated, and I didn't even really feel as though he was attached to Eponine in any way, not even as a friend. But overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Eddie's performance.

Samantha Barks as Eponine

BEFORE - Praise the Lord in heaven! THANK YOU GOD FOR NOT LETTING TAYLOR SWIFT GET THIS ROLE! Now the world will be introduced to the lovely talent of Miss Barks!! Experience, good acting, and great singing! Couldn't ask for more!

AFTER -Oh, I loved her. As the only "lead" performer to have played her role onstage, she absolutely nailed it! I loved how on film she played Eponie with a subtlety in her voice, and little quirks of her face. On My Own sounded completely different than when she does it onstage, but it was absolutlely entracing. Eponine's death was completely gutting, and I loved it. I loved her whole performance. Hopefully this leads to bigger things for her in the future! And to think, the first time I saw this lovely lady was on a reality competition! She's come a long way, and I'm so happy the whole world now knows the talent of Samantha Barks.

Aaron Tveit as Enjolras

BEFORE- Not a huge fan of Tveit, in the sense that I don't think he's the hottest Fiyero ever to come out of Wicked (Oliver Tompsett won that honor!). But he is a good performer, and I loved him in Next to Normal and Ugly Betty. This is an acceptable choice.

AFTER - He did a better job than I thought he would. Aaron's singing was actually quite good, and he did well. I was a little upset, though, that there was very little passion in Red & Black, from him. When I think of Enjolras, I think of a man who loves his Patria so passionately, he will rest at nothing to secure a better future for her. I didn't get that from Tveit. Although I will admit, his death with Grantaire got me to cry, so bad. That scene, ugh, just amazing.

Other Honorable Mentions - Daniel Huttlestone as Little Gavroche...ajbadfaddahadafpskbwsrgbwrgi JUST INCREDIBLE! What a rascal! Though they did take out a part from the early/original script, right after Eponine's death, where one of the students asks him "What's wrong?" as her body is carried away. He looks up and says "That was my sister." UGH, THEY WOULD'VE GOTTEN SO MANY MORE TEARS OUT OF ME IF THEY HAD KEPT THAT IN!! Oh, and Little Cosette was just a darling. Perfect. Lovely. Amazing. And as always, MUCH LOVE FOR THE BARRICADE BOYS!!!
