Of the Twilight Wood

In the quiet wood at the end of day,
the sun has nearly gone away.
The forest looks of a place of lore,
as the sun sets over the evening moor.
Of golden sky and orange sun,
most ancient forest be the one.
Beautiful leaves and brown, old bark,
in this forest, I shall leave my mark.
Master of Nature, I shall be good,
within your sanctuary, the twilight wood.

I based this poem off of a forest in the time of day known as twilight. It's the time of day between dusk and evening. As you can see, I like to intertwine my works with a bit of a background of fantasy.

The Life of Lt. Robert Stetler (Ret.)

In 1916 he was born,
during a war of hate and scorn.
And then, when he was two,
the war ended and peace was new.
Two years later, when he was four,
women gain the vote and more.
1930 he started high school,
right as the stock market fell like a fool.
In 1934, he graduated,
just as the number of jobs grated.
During the Depression, he worked in Lockheed,
for 40 cents an hour when money was a need.
Before he graduated with a college degree,
called forth he was into the Navy.
Training in Chicago, he attempted flight,
but was turned down due to bad sight.
He was placed on a destroyer to sail out,
through the Pacific Ocean was their route.
In Guadalcanal, bombers came,
he saw kamikazes gain their fame.
Homeward bound after the war,
from explosions, his ears became sore.
Graduated USC in forty-five,
at a teaching job he began to thrive.
In Montebello, he had taught,
Industrial Arts to a lot.
When the Iron Curtain drew closed in the east,
he watched on the television with the least.
He witnessed the Vietnam and Korean Wars,
the violence shaking all to their cores.
Counseling he began in the year,
that Eisenhower was reelected with a cheer.
Civil Rights for the black came,
in the years he saw King’s growing fame.
And then he did become a director,
when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon sector.
Retirement came for him and his wife,
as Ronald Regan entered American life.
He witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall,
and the great Soviet Union’s fall.
He watched on the television the second plane hit the tower,
and he had witnessed America’s darkest hour.
Now at ninety-six he sits in his house,
his bright flame continues to douse.
Visits from friends and family bring a smile to his face,
as he sits day to day in a lonely place.
Doubles the lines are his age,
he truly is a beloved sage.

13. You bring 'Coke' into my house, it better be brown, wet and served over ice. You bring 'Mary Jane' into my house, she better be cute, know how to shoot, drive a truck, and have long hair.

14. College and High School Football is as important here as the Giants, the Yankees, the Mets, the Lakers and the Knicks, and a dang site more fun to watch.

15. Yeah, we have golf courses. But don't hit the water hazards - it spooks the fish.

16. Turn down that blasted car stereo! That thumpity-thump crap ain't music, anyway. We don't want to hear it anymore than we want to see your boxers! Refer back to #1!

Today I read of your administration's plan to re-define September 11 as a National Service Day. Sir, it's time we had a talk...

During your campaign, Americans watched as you made mockery of our tradition of standing and crossing your heart when the Pledge of Allegiance was spoken. You, out of four people on the stage, were the only one not honoring our tradition.

During one of your many speeches, Americans heard you say that you intended to visit all 57 states. We all know that Islam, not America has 57 states.

When President Bush leaned over at Ground Zero and gently placed a flower on the memorial, while you nonchalantly tossed your flower onto the pile without leaning over.

Every time you apologized to other countries for America's position on an issue we have wondered why you don't share our pride in this great country. When you have heard foreign leaders berate our country and our beliefs, you have not defended us. In fact, you insulted the British Crown beyond belief.

When your pastor of 20 years, "God-damned America" and said that 9/11 was "America's chickens coming home to roost" and you denied having heard recriminations of that nature, we wondered how that could be. You later disassociated yourself from that church and Pastor Wright because it was politically expedient to do so.

When you announced that you would transform America, we wondered why. With all her faults, America is the greatest country on earth. Story Challenges

Chosen Jinchuuriki Challenge (Naruto)

The idea is that Naruto and the other eight Jinchuuriki somehow find their way together, forsaking their villages, to unite and aid the world from the shadows. They work off each other and learn to control/work with their Bijuu (not like with Naruto in canon, more like Bee). Eventually this gets to the point where they can bond all nine of them together to temporarily form the Juubi ([1] This is optional. [2] Goes with Rikudo Sennin's message to Bijuu about someone uniting them again). For those who haven't guessed, the 'Chosen Jinchuuriki' title comes from the idea of the Sennin's words to the Bijuu but you may chose to incorporate that only if you wish.

Now, for some ground rules.

(1) Naruto/Fu. I don't know, I like this pairing and it's grown on me recently. Also, please no harem. That'll make me sad. Other pairings you may decided. NO YAOI HOWEVER!

(2) Doesn't need to be god-modding. I understand if you want to take their training and working together slowly. But if you take that route, try and keep them in their base of operations until they're ready. The idea is that they're hiding from the rest of the world until they're ready to help from the shadows.

(3) Bashing = Optional. I honestly don't care.

(4) No non-Jinchuuriki joins their group. Period.

(5) Please try to keep crossover weapons and abilities to a bare minimum if any at all.

(6) Sasuke can stay or leave village. Again I don't care.

Now for some suggestions. These are completely optional.

(1) Try add side-stories like the Land of Snow or something like that or even get creative and make a couple up. That'd be great to read in my opinion.

(2) I think Uzushiogakure would be a great place for a base camp.

(3) Akatsuki going down first with Orochimaru becoming a huge threat towards the end.

(4) Even after Orochimaru's defeat have some form of last round of missions or some such.

Strength and Power Challenge (MapleStory)

The idea of this challenge is a sort of romance that builds between Luminous and Aran (NOT FRICKING YAOI!). The romance begins to build after they encounter each other sometime after Aran regains her memories. Basically the emphasis is on the fact that Aran is the physically strongest MapleStory character and Luminous is likely the strongest spiritually next to the Black Mage. It's sort of a Yin-Yang-ish type of romance story.

Now for the rules.

(1) As mentioned before, NO FRICKING YAOI! NO! Other pairings may be to your choosing but NO FRICKING YAOI!

(2) My preference is Luminous/FemAran but you may go with Aran/FemLuminous. Either or is fine.

(3) Please try to keep crossover weapons and abilities to a bare minimum if any at all.

(4) When they meet again they become partners. Keep those two together if your not going to keep the Heroes together.

Fairy Tail's Legend Challenge (MapleStory/Fairy Tail Crossover)

The idea is that one of the Legendary Heroes of Maple (can be any but preferably fem!Aran or fem!Luminous because I think it would be interesting) finds his/herself in Fiore and joins Fairy Tail. You have the complete freedom to take your story anywhere you want from there.

Rules:

(1) NO FRICKING YAOI!

Kaguya's Return Challenge (Naruto)

The idea is that Otsutsuki Kaguya, the mother of the Rikudo Sennin, Otsutsuki Hagoromo, witnesses the destruction, death, and war she has caused by her actions in trying to create world peace. After some time she eventually observes Naruto's early life and after witnessing it for four years has had enough. She appears to stop a mob and takes Naruto in as her own son. From there you can take the story wherever you choose to. Pairings are for you to decide.

Rules:

(1) NO FRICKING YAOI!

(2) Keep Naruto's relationship (in regards to ancestry) to the Sennin the same as canon.

Princess Among Fairies (Fairy Tail)

The idea is that Princess Hisui E. Fiore at some point during the series (whether its before the time skip with her as a child or young teen or afterward as a young woman is up to you) decides she wants to connect further to her people by becoming a mage in one of the guilds within her kingdom. Who better to chose than the one that values their comrades so highly as Fairy Tail.

In short, Hisui joins Fairy Tail as a mage. Pairings are for you to decide (though I personally wouldn't mind seeing the princess without one).

Rules:

(1) If you don't know by now. . . refer to the previous #1s

(2) You are allowed to stray to your own arcs but make sure to keep the current arcs in as well.

(3) Do not have anyone else in Fairy Tail be secretly related to the royal family. It should only be King Toma, a unnamed queen (who you can give an identity if you want), and Princess Hisui.

(4) Hisui can be skilled (you could have it so that she was trained in the palace at a young age) but, at least initially, don't have her as strong or stronger than Erza.

(6) Hisui's Magic can be anything you want but not any form of Dragon Slayer or God Slayer Magic.

Suggestions:

(1) Maybe have Hisui's Magic be something unique like Royal Magic: like being able to cast spells based on parts of her job as a member of royalty like 'Order' can force a person to fulfill one order of the user and it is as effective as the magic power put into it, or 'Judgment' which causes pain to the victim depending upon the crime accused of and how much it was violated.

(2) Maybe have Hisui escape Acnologia's attack by having Doranbolt take her back with him as he flees. Maybe she uses her influence to keep Fairy Tail's main building?

(3) Maybe don't have her as the mastermind behind the Eclipse Gate but have it really be her father.

They soon come across Amaterasu, who had apparently been teleported there after her fight with Yami to recover from severe injuries. Due to the pureness and innocence of the child, Amaterasu decides to become part of Naruko to help her overcome her past insecurities and to protect the world from any major threat. Now with a split personality due to the bonding, Naruko now must learn how to utilize and control both the powers of Kyuubi and the powers of the Sun Goddess alongside her new otou-san to protect the world from the Moon Eye Plan and many other dangers, both supernatural and human-made.
