A little about me:

I am a very busy wife, work-a-holic, domestic goddess and classic Gemini. What this means for my fics? Well...you can see by how long it takes between updates that me and regular committed updating do not work. I lose the muse, I gain the muse, I see a bright shiny object somewhere over to the south, you get it. I'm American, as you Brit pickers out there can probably tell right away; I do my best with the spelling and slang, but I don't have a beta, or anyone to read over anything so I'm kind of flying by the seat of the pants and hoping for the best. My husband loves that I write and that I love to do it, but he teases me mercilessly about it being fanfiction, and HP in particular, but that's ok, I tease him about his obsession with anything with a motor so it all works out.

I am actually a relative newcomer to the fanfiction world, I had no clue it even existed until 2009, and the itch to write came soon after reading. I've written a fair bit of original work, and had a few pieces published here and there over the years, not enough to ever think of making a living on, but it's personally satisfying to see others enjoy what I do.

Harry Potter became a bit of an obsession for me after I started reading the books; I had ignored them for years as "kid crap" but my cousin stuffed The Chamber of Secrets under my nose one day, and told me to shut up until I'd read at least three chapters. It took less than 1 for me to be hooked, and by the time I'd read my way through the series I was already playing the "what if" game with myself, you all know the one, it's the one where the bunnies come sneaking in your room in the wee hours of the morning asking things like "what happened in that 15 years between the Final Battle and everyone sending their kids to Hogwarts?" or "What if the epilogue didn't exist at all?" (let's face it, many of us have wished that most heartily!) Before I knew it there were formations of the most adorable bunnies you've ever seen marching up to my computer, tugging on my sleeves, whispering in my ears and multiplying the way only bunnies can. They've moved in permanently now, they hang off the edge of my laptop shaking their heads at me for being so slow to take care of them, laughing when I get stuck, and generally making a mess of my previously uncluttered mind. Recently they have invited friends from the Dr. Who verse, Star Wars and Supernatural to come and party, and I think the other day one from Sanctuary peeped in around the doorframe waving over a HP bunny so they can conspire about a crossover fic, the sneak little buggers.

I'm actually not much on the "usual ships" in the Potterverse, and generally I like my fics placed well after the the books, usually at least 5-10 years after DH, though I do enjoy a very well written AU. I have several authors I've gotten quite addicted to for that, and I especially recommend Thanfictions DAYDverse fics, particularly "Dumbledore's Army and the Year of Darkness" and "Sluagh".

Being mostly a "plot over porn" type of girl I do reluctantly have to confess that sometimes some smut is a lovely thing, especially if it adds to the story instead of just being the story. You'll normally find a bit of it here and there in my work, which is why I'll always rate mine M, plus I prefer not to have to hold back on the language or violence if I think a story calls for it.

I love to get feedback and I'm hoping that I'll get more reviews when I can post And We All Fall Down as completed. I have a tendency not to read a fic until it's complete, I'm the impatient type, so I don't expect others to really look seriously until it's done. I actually considered writing the whole thing and then posting all at once but I was afraid I wouldn't finish it at all if I didn't put it out there at the start, and though it's taken far, far longer than I ever expected I'm glad I did.

This fic has survived a bout of cancer, my dads heart attack, the birth of a niece and a nephew, a fire where my mother and father in law lost almost every possession they owned, a husband attacked by a vicious dog and the surgery that came after to repair the damage, and a kitchen renovation gone mad, so I'm rather proud that's it's come so close. Just bear with me a little while longer. I promise it won't be another two years.
