Before the Infinite Loops Project, there was the Infinite Time Loops: a long-running collaboration on the part of writers based on The Fanfiction Forum [TFF]. Initially inspired by Perfect Lionheart's Chunin Exam Day, Innortal's New Intros Naruto-centric thread in 2008 sparked a wave of loosely-connected offerings by various other writers - spawning an eventual tally of three dozen threads across a broad range of fandoms, totalling approximately 600 pages (at 30 posts/page) of discussion and snippet-content over the next five years. Some of those writers (Innortal in particular) archived their work in compilations on FFN, in turn inspiring other writers to form their own works based on both the general concept and the existing ITL collaboration.

One of those writers was Saphroneth, whose own collection of Infinite Loops snippets concerning first How To Train Your Dragon (started 2011 on deviantArt) and then My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (FiMFiction, SpaceBattles [SB] & FFN) went on to form the nucleus of a Broad-Strokes successor to the Infinite Time Loops, flourishing on SB as TFF dwindled with time - culminating with Innortal recently (late-2019) joining the successor-collaboration.

That successor is the Infinite Loops Project [ILP, a long-running (and frankly more prolific) collaboration on the part of writers based on the SpaceBattles forum. It is notable for being more contiguous in terms of Loops-wide canon compared to the ITL - at the cost of stricter controls, in particular the requirement for ILP material to be vetted by SB's ILP community before admission into ILP 'canon'. It is also notable for a much greater proportion of its writers' snippet-work being archived on FFN.

In line with the ILP community's differentiation between the ILP, the ITL and various standalone derivative works, the purpose of this account is to serve as a one-stop hub from which to find what you're after in terms of Infinite Loops.

The 'Profile' section: For a thumbnail history of the Infinite Loops (as above) - but also to detail a list of ILP works that are archived on a site that's not FFN (most likely Archive Of Our Own [AO3]). Links won't work, but use the Title, Author and Site Information to search for what you're after on the list...

Should you wish to participate in the Infinite Loops Project or just read up on ILP snippet-content not yet archived, come find us in the Infinite Loops: Miscellaneous Section, Catch 3x3 thread on the SpaceBattles Creative Writing sub-forum. There's a Threadlist link therein which will give you a basic roadmap for where you want to go, depending on what fandom(s) you might want to read/write for.

(Depending on compilation policy, individual archivists may be willing to transfer snippets submitted by PM, Review or Beta request to the relevant SpaceBattles thread, in order to be vetted for addition to the compilation. If you're going to do this more than a couple times though, you'd be better off joining SB and participating directly.)
