Tony Stark went missing after Civil War, but nobody cared enough to go searching for him, all believing that he just needed some time on his own to pout. Meanwhile he has been horribly experimented on, and transformed into something other than human. When he escapes, he finds himself running into three children who seem to be just as lost as him, and he has to protect them.

Two and half years have passed since Peter Parker donned the Spider-man suit and made a name for himself. A lot has happened to him and the other Avengers in that time and as the middle of Peter's senior school year arrives, Midtown High School gets a surprise invitation for their engineering students to take a tour of Stark Industries. Tony wasn't sure what to expect when Fury called him into the new SHIELD facility but he definitely wasn't expecting to see his father alive and well or his so called friends that had turned their backs on him. Granted with the way that his life had been going since Afghanistan it probably shouldn't have surprised him in the least.

Tony has to deal with the problems that come with an arc reactor. It's a good thing that he has an understanding team.

This was a mess. A horrible, hot and painful mess… not unlike the sort of mess he promised Pepper he'd stop getting into. He was in way over his head again, and it was all to save some kittens.
