Author has written 37 stories for Super Smash Brothers, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Final Fantasy VII, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, and Fairy Tail.

About Me: Female, born in 1987 (drink up, me hearties, yo ho!), started writing fanfiction at age 17. Essentially, my alias is just something I completely made up, with no fandom-reference whatsoever.

Will NOT write or even read yaoi/yuri of any kind whatsoever (in the immortal words of Final Fantasy VI's Kefka Palazzo, I hate, hate, hate hate HATE IT!). I might be able to skip over parts containing yaoi/yuri along with the het that I love to read, but if I realize that something I'm reading is just a yaoi/yuri fic, that's when I leave and never come back. Otherwise, I'd just do a lot more flaming. I know what I like to read when I occasionally forage for lemons, and I also refuse to read BDSM scenes, rapefics, or other such disturbing content. My tolerance for bestiality is also severely limited.

When I first came to FanFiction, I was a huge fan of Super Smash Bros. Melee. Not so strong in that fandom anymore, unfortunately.

Essentially, unlike writers of slash/femmeslash and others who butcher the characters of Smashers (Marth/Roy slash writers, those who write Princess Peach to be even ditzier than your average "dumb blond", those who portray Captain Falcon as a perverted moron--why do so many authors in this fanfic community hate him, anyway? etc.), I try to represent every character involved in my stories faithfully to canon (though occasionally playing up a good quality in a favorite character beyond what Nintendo would normally allow). For this reason readers of my stories will never see any twisted-up relationships (maybe plausible non-canon shipping) or characters whose personalities have been butchered beyond recognition--just the pure and simple essence of each Smasher and how I believe he/she would interact with others.

I also write fanfiction for Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. Let me introduce you to my motley caravan from Tipa:

Khetala: A Yuke and the daughter of an alchemist, Khetala believes in a prophecy (somewhat to her father's dismay) that states that the "age of darkness" in which the miasma covers the world will not end until "four and others," one from every race at minimum, are able "to forget their eternal conflict and march upon the edge of darkness as one" and is determined to fulfill it. She, like all Yukes, has a certain knack for foreseeing the fates of others around her and knowing the thoughts on her fellow caravanners' minds and the wishes in their hearts. With this understanding, she guides the caravan with a firm but gentle hand.

David: A Clavat (unusually aggressive for someone of his race), a tailor's son, whose tenure as a caravanner is second only to that of Khetala. As he has no patience for learning trade skills, he insists that he will "live and die for the town of Tipa" collecting myrrh on the caravan. On the road, he works hard to keep smooth "going" on the rough road ahead. Quite talkative, he loves to tell stories to his fellow caravanners on the nights at roadside camp. He has a particular fondness for legends and stories of battles, the warriors who fought in them, and the weapons that they wielded.

Lydia: David's sister, three years his junior and the only girl in her family (she has five brothers, including David). She is the most domestic of the caravan, the best at cooking meals and repairing torn clothes and wagon-covers. Like her brother, she harbors a love of myths and legends told over the centuries of history. Like many of the race of Clavats, Lydia dislikes conflict. However, unlike most who dislike the race of Selkies, Lydia loves fellow caravanner Anais Nin like the sister she never had.

Anais Nin: A merchant's daughter, a beautiful lavender-haired and silver-eyed Selkie. In her race's native tongue, her name means "daughter of the revival," and she initially joined the Tipa caravan at the age of fifteen and at Khetala's particular request, for Khetala believed that Anais Nin would have the Selkies' hand in the "revival" of a world free of miasma. Loves to sing and dance, and will frequently lead her fellow caravanners in song. At one point, however, the demon Raem tries to kill her by an unorthodox method--and almost succeeds.

Dimo Nor: A Lilty blacksmith's son, named in memory of a Selkie (name means "he who fears nothing" in the Selkic tongue) who saved his father's life during the old man's days as a caravanner. Having joined the Tipa caravan in the same year as Anais Nin's joining on (only fourteen at the time), Dimo Nor is an accomplished fighter like many of his race, but (probably owing largely to Khetala's influence) he is also very compassionate, described as "a Lilty with a heart of gold" at one point when he defies his race's weakness and revives a fallen fellow caravanner with magic through heart and sheer force of will.

And here are their stories.

What Say You?: Dimo Nor becomes suspicious when Anais Nin teaches Khetala and Lydia to speak Old Selkic. (Response to a challenge by fellow writer SasukeBlade.)

Cabin Fever: Oneshot, taking place near the beginning of the motley Tipa caravan's third year. When a blizzard chases the caravan into Shella and it looks as though the caravanners will be stuck there nearly the whole winter, Dimo Nor quickly develops cabin fever and winds up in trouble because of it.

Sorrow and Doubt: At the end of the motley Tipa caravan's eighth year together, when a tragedy shatters the heart of one caravanner and causes another to fear what the future may hold, it's hard to tell which is the unhappier of these two: the Selkie who sorrows or the Yuke who doubts. (Response to a challenge by fellow writer SasukeBlade.)

Aegis: Takes place just a few months before the final assault on Mount Vellenge. On their way to Daemon's Court, Lydia tells her fellow caravanners the story of a sought-after artifact - and unexpectedly gives Khetala a piece of insight into one of Raem's most sinister plans. (Response to a challenge by fellow writer SasukeBlade; ties in with Secrets of the Lost City and Sword of Redemption. Rated T for minor adult themes.)

Leonora's Lantern: Halloween-themed oneshot; takes place as Dimo Nor and Anais Nin have first become caravanners. Dimo Nor tells the legend of events before, and how, the angel Leonora led the Lilty people to Alfitaria and why it became Liltian custom to carve a pumpkin-shell into a luminary in the autumn. (May be considered a challenge response, but is mostly a fic that formed in my imagination when I carved a pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern.)

The Demon Sends His Messengers: An original twist on a familiar tragedy. The demon Raem perceives a growing threat somewhere in the miasma-clouded world - and sends his minions to eliminate it. (Rated T for character death in accordance with canon.) Dedicated to fellow users SasukeBlade, Ryouka Nocturnal, occultkat, Kirux, Twilight Scribe, and The Trinity Tree, and possibly others, depending on who else has played upon the same muse of inspiration.

Secrets of the Lost City: In quest of a drop of myrrh to herald the end of their fourth year, the Tipa caravan journeys to Rebena Te Ra, and there, thanks to their leader Khetala, they learn several interesting secrets pertaining to events of the past and to what the course of the future holds. (Response to a challenge of my own in my forum The Moogle Nest; ties in with Aegis and Sword of Redemption.)

I Find I'm Not Afraid: Oneshot based on my multi-chapter fic The Great Revival and on a poem from Anais Nin's POV. Takes place post-game and may be considered slightly AU. (A gift-fic for SasukeBlade, rated M for Mount Kilanda.)

Desert Sage and Marsh Violets: Two-shot. Two Selkie lovers each discover that a certain plant, one growing in Leuda and another in Conall Curach, reminds him/her of the other, and it only makes their separation more painful.

Daemon's Court: An informative poem about one of the realm's more intimidating dungeons.

Anais Nin's Lament: A poem from Anais Nin's point of view about the tragedy that shattered her heart.

Mount Kilanda: A bold, poetic declaration by Anais Nin of being unafraid of the great infernal volcano.

March on Mount Vellenge: A poem from all five caravanners' POV's--a rallying cry for any FF:CC gamers planning to make their final stand.

The Great Revival: At last the motley Tipa caravanners have reached Mount Vellenge. When they make their final stand against the source of the miasma, what will be their rewards for conquering the darkness? (Rated T to be on the safe side; rating may change.) Special thanks to fellow writer Twilight Scribe for the inspiration to use "To Whatever End" as a chapter title.

Sword of Redemption: The conflict between the Lady Mio, Queen of Memories, and the great memory-devouring demon Raem is only moments away from rearing its ugly head in the mortal realm. Will a Clavat whom Raem has gravely wounded, Aeris of Marr's Pass, realize the truth of her previous life and how it ties into her present destiny? Can she break the seal surrounding the "fallen sword" atop fiery Mount Kilanda before Raem seizes hold of her to multiply his power? Or, as Mio's angels suspect, is Raem just an avatar for a traitor among them? (Crossover-story between Crystal Chronicles and Final Fantasy VII; ties in with oneshots Secrets of the Lost City and Aegis. Rated M for a disturbing painful memory, and possibly for content in later chapters.)

And now I am pleased to announce that my loyal friend SasukeBlade has honored me with a fanfic of my handiwork, written in part for the "Fanfic of a Fanfic" challenge in The Moogle Nest. It's called The Storyteller, focusing on David and the many loves of his life as a crystal caravanner, and it's written according to LiveJournal's "Stages of Love" challenge.

And while I'm on to Final Fantasy VII:

--I've seen Tifa (is it because she's got the curves?) paired by various writers with every man on FFVII's scale of manners-and-refinement from Cid Highwind (the roughneck aviator) to Genesis Rhapsodos (the poetic SOLDIER--thanks for that, fire mystic! I recommend her fics Secrets, Stolen Moments, Sweetest Dreams, and finally Forbidden). And I've seen various writers pair her with every man on the scale of good-and-evil-alignment from Cloud (faved the lovely lemon-fic At Last by dantesdarkqueen) to Sephiroth (faved a steamy-dreamy fic called Extremities by ghost of gene rayburn). Overall, I'm fairly open-minded as to who Tifa can be with (within reason), on the condition that the author/ess writes well and, in the case of pairing her with a not-so-trustworthy man, doesn't treat her too badly.

--As a general rule, I like White Mages, so it's no surprise that Aeris (prefer the 's' instead of the 'th') is one of my fave characters. I can relate to her, her being the generally shy type. As such, I HATE seeing Aeris treated badly (as in, worse than the death-by-Masamune that canonically befalls her--you writers know what I mean) in a fic, even more than I hate seeing Tifa or Yuffie suffer. I like to read of Aeris paired romantically with Zack (obvious basis in canon), but for some reason unknown, I really don't like to see her with Cloud (I think Cloud rightly belongs with Tifa) in spite of the "canon" argument I offered for Zack/Aeris.

However...considering what a caring and understanding person the last Cetra is, I am very much a believer that if only Aeris had crossed Sephiroth's path before it became far too late for either of them (or if the Planet itself somehow intervened), she could've easily been the light to his darkness, and the Calamity from the Skies either would be defeated or never would've taken hold. (Pardon me if I sound Kingdom Hearts-ish there, but that's what I believe and I'm stickin' to it! AeriSeph FTW! Good fics for this one: No Wish to be Alone by Chocobo Goddess and Path of Seduction by Ardwynna Morrigu) And I found a lovely video that accurately sums up the lament of AeriSeph fans such as myself.

--Yes, I do blame Jenova for a lot of the bad stuff that happens (and hate her guts and curse her name to the bowels of Hell for it) on the forsaken Planet under Shinra's control (and Professor Hojo, for all the lies he told--hate every inch of him too). Just read an item on my favorites list: Mommy Dearest by dantesdarkqueen because she sums it up quite nicely. Those who insist that I'm giving Jenova too much credit here may, in the immortal words of Futurama's Bender, "bite my shiny metal ass!"

--Where the Turks go, I'm a proud Tseng/Elena shipper (I strongly recommend ShinRa Migraine by AmazonTurk and Fantasy Awakening by fire mystic), and I like to see Cissnei with Zack from time to time, if writers don't want to pair Zack with Aeris. Though I did see a good Reno/Cissnei fic...

And when Dissidia Final Fantasy made its appearance, I quickly became a fan. My favorite warrior on Cosmos's side of the great battle is Terra Branford from FF6, and she takes a key role in each of my Dissidia works:

To the Red Mage: A free-verse poem in which a warrior of Chaos antagonizes Terra before a duel.

Heart of an Esper: A song in Terra's praise, to the tune of "Heart of a Dragon" by Dragonforce.

You'll be Well Done!: A multi-chapter fic in various POVs. Kefka intended for "the worst" to happen to Terra the day he sneaked into Ultimecia's castle to steal a potent lust-inducing potion. His biggest mistake was in picking the wrong fellow Chaos-minion to set on Terra's trail - but even so, he manages to cause a great deal of trouble in both the Order's Sanctuary and the Old Chaos Shrine. (Rated M for lemon in Terra's POV.)

Allegory of the Tale: A one-shot that eventually serves as epilogue to You'll be Well Done!. Terra tells an adapted version of her story to Celes, Locke, and the children of Mobliz when she returns home.

Got some favorite pairings that I like to read, and those that are not-faves-but-I-still-like-them. So, categorized by fandom and in no particular order:

Final Fantasy IV: Rosa/Cecil, occasional Rosa/Kain, Rydia/Edge

Final Fantasy VI: Locke/Celes, Edgar/Terra (OTP FTW), occasional Setzer/Maria

Final Fantasy VII: Cloud/Tifa, Zack/Aeris, Sephiroth/Aeris under the right conditions, Tseng/Elena, occasional Vincent/Yuffie. I also occasionally find good stories in which Tifa is paired with somebody other than Cloud.

Final Fantasy VIII: Squall/Rinoa, Irvine/Selphie, occasional Seifer/Quistis

Final Fantasy X and X-2: Yuna/Tidus, Yuna/Baralai, Rikku/Gippal, occasional Rikku/Auron, Lulu/Wakka, occasional Lulu/Auron, Paine/Nooj

Dissidia and D012 Final Fantasy: Ultimecia/Emperor Mateus, Terra/Cloud, Terra/Firion, Terra/Sephiroth under the right conditions, occasional Lightning/Firion

5/2/2012 I have officially joined Wikia, specifically the Final Fantasy Wiki! My username on that site is SelkieMaiden267, and I'm mostly there to vote in and occasionally nominate fights in their Dragon's Neck Colosseum (as well as chat on talk pages), though if I have anything helpful to contribute, I most certainly will!

6/18/2012 I've got a LiveJournal account (and have been looking for fan communities where my input would be valued) and have applied for an invite to Archive Of Our Own, or AO3. I may also consider MediaMiner membership, if the site proves navigable without great difficulty. Lately I've been wanting to expand my writing horizons with basic exercises like prompt-response based on a given pairing. However, given FFN's recent crackdown, I'm no longer sure I can trust would-be readers not to be whistleblowers.

9/6/2012 Thank goodness! I finally got accepted as an AO3 member (also under the pseudonym SelkieMaiden267). Now I can transfer or make a backup copy of my prominent Dissidia work and start writing for my Final Fantasy VI OTP...a "Book of Secrets" collection, if you will. Or maybe I'll call it the "Figaro Nights" collection, since that title is more OTP-appropriate.

9/13/2012 What a severe disappointment. So I went around to places like the springkink community on LiveJournal and the Porn Battle community on InsaneJournal, and so far I've found only four prompts for Edgar/Terra that I believe I could write something for. (Claimed already in one of those communities, or unclaimed, it doesn't matter; I consider all prompts to be fair game.) So if any of you Edgar/Terra readers want to see some lemons, just PM me with a prompt that I might have missed (or a new one) and you'll likely find me on AO3 with a response.

1/30/2014 So I've been watching the Fairy Tail anime as a way of coping with a crisis, and I'm officially hooked. Watched so far from the beginning to a few episodes before the Key of the Starry Sky arc gets into full swing, and I've also watched several fan-favorite scenes from the Grand Magic Games arc on YouTube, and gone to at times when I needed to fill in a particular knowledge-gap that I couldn't get in an anime scene. Thus far my favorite arc is probably the Tenrou Island one (though Grand Magic Games may usurp that position if I could see the whole arc), and my least-favorite is a tossup between Fighting Festival and Edolas. I broke into fanfic-writing for the fandom recently by responding to a one-shot prompt from the LaxLu (Laxus/Lucy, a pairing I support in post-Tenrou Island stories) Challenge Week, and am beginning to brainstorm and come up with ideas for a longer story.

8/22/2014 Recently I found a recipe for strawberry cake, and with a little tweaking, I do believe I've created a right delicious "Erza Scarlet Cake" worthy of the great Titania. The recipe for my masterpiece is as follows:

2 and 3/4 cup cake flour
2 and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 sticks butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup strawberry preserves
4 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 (3-oz) package strawberry Jell-O mix
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 and 1/2 cups frozen strawberries, chopped

Beat together Jell-O mix, sugar, preserves, butter, and vanilla in mixing bowl until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together flour and baking powder; add alternately with milk to batter, beating well. Using a spatula, fold in chopped strawberries. Divide batter into 3 greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees (Fahrenheit measure) for 25 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool completely on wire racks before frosting. Pairs excellently with a cream cheese frosting. If desired, garnish with fresh halved strawberries.

It's dangerous to go alone! Take this.

If you ever get sucked into Fairy Tail-universe Earth Land, take this recipe for strawberry cake with you. You'll be glad you did.
