Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter. My name is Courtney Brown. I'm twenty years old and I've been writing fanfiction since I was thirteen, I guess. Harry Potter was the first book I enjoyed reading and so when I became obsessed with the books I also became obsessed with the fanfiction between book five and six. This is my first time writing on this site but I've posted two stories on other sites that I will post here. Ever since I've wanted to be a writer; I kind of use this is as my practice. Readers of Year of Girls... Part II: Sorry about the delay in updates. I'm looking over the next chapter and will post it soon. I've been working on the "sort-of" ending because its really been coming out lately. The chapters coming up, I wrote kind of fast so I'm just making sure that everything makes sense and works in the right way before I post it. Thanks for waiting and I hope you like the upcoming chapters. HOPEFULLY COMING SOON! JAMES + LILY Just another story about how it all started from the summer before the seventh year on... The writing is going really well, there is hardly any pause so it should be up really soon. Its hand-written instead of typed so I'll be able to post it soon. Here's a little preview, if anyone actually looks at my profile. I just can't hold it in and I'm bored so... James + Lily...end of 6th year Lily walked through the portrait hole, having just come from the library after finishing her regular twelve hours of Saturday study. She ignored the people staring at her; this was the first time they had seen her all day as she gave up on meals in the Great Hall. It was the last week of school and she decided she could get by on a quick lunch every day and a very early breakfast. Two days ago James Potter had made a huge scene in the Great Hall, expressing his love for her and her angry green eyes. Since then she'd avoided meals where James Potter would be to avoid him and the embarassment of people talking. Breakfast was the safest, when Potter's laziness and desire to sleep-in overruled his stomach. Unfortunately, there was no avoiding him in classes where he made lude comments about her skirt, them dating and broom closets. She sat in the front of the class and, while he often sat in the back to play pranks on the unsuspecting classroom, when he was feeling most devious he sat behind her and tried to play with her hair, touch her neck, arms or hands. She usually ended up smacking him with her book and getting him a detention. There was also no avoiding him in the common room. She didn't like it in the dorms, Alyssa was the only girl that was nice to her and she most often wasn't there. Lily only went up there to sleep. She made her way to the couch by the fire and curled up beside the arm, tugging out her book that she'd read so many times some of the pages had come loose and the binding was worn and loose. She was halfway through her favorite scene when a shadow over her shoulder blocked out her light. She didn't have to glance up to know who it was. Though she'd rather not admit it she knew Potter well. His smell was distinct; rich, warm cologne, earth, and something she couldn't identify with words. And he always leaned over her in the same fashion (actually he was the only person who would want to lean toward her in this fashion, she wasn't very well liked). "Get away from me Potter," she growled. "You're in my light." "I am your light. Don't I brighten your day?" he asked pompously. "We both know the answer to that," she grumbled. He leaned in farther. "What are you reading?" "That's none of your business. Get away from me." James reached over to push down the cover to read the title. "Hey!" "The Nightengale and the Rose," James read. "Oscar Wilde. Hmm, never heard of him." "You wouldn't. It's a muggle author. You hardly read to begin with, I don't see you expanding your ideas beyond the wizarding world." She sunk further into the couch, hiding behind her book, though she couldn't read it in his shadow. She felt him scowl at her comment. "I haven't seen you at any meals recently." "Less chances for you to annoy me to death. Are you dissappointed?" James didn't comment. "Don't you have a new girlfriend around here somewhere?" she sighed, trying to get rid of him so she could stop thinking about the intoxicating scent he emitted. "Oh, her. She's around here somewhere," he said, cringing. He came around the couch and sat down beside her, far closer than was necessary. "I'd much rather be near you." "You do remember what happens when you annoy me while I have a book in my hands." "I'll take my chances. Besides, that book doesn't look like it can hurt anyone anymore. Its old and feeble." He leaned toward her, she used her book to cut him off. "When are you going to say yes, Evans? All I want is a date. I can take rejection if you at least gave me a chance." "We both know that's not true. If I gave you an inch you'd take a mile." "I'd respect your space and time issues. I would be your devoted lover." "I don't need a devoted lover, I need you to stay away from me." "Summer is coming soon you know. You're going to miss me," he said. "Oh, I highly doubt that," she scoffed, rolling her eyes. James turned and Lily glanced up at the portrait hole to watch James's most recent conquest arrive with her chitty gal pals around her. Vanessa, the name of this month's conquest, was a slutty Ravenclaw fifth year. A lot of her chit friends were in Gryffindor, which was how she got into the common room. James sighed heavily and lowered his head. Lily raised an eyebrow. "Trouble in paradise?" "Nnn, if it were paradise I'd be with you. You know that Lily." He sounded sincere. Lily coughed at the uncomfortable silence between them and tucked back into her book. "She's looking for you." James rolled his eyes and glanced over his shoulder. She was staring at him, waving seductively. He smiled slightly in her direction and held up his hand, motioning that he would be over in a minute. He turned back to Lily who was back to her book. "Evans?" he asked. "Think it over, huh?" "Sure Potter. Whatever you say," she agreed halfheartedly. James groaned, smiled sadly at her and then heaved himself up off the couch, leaving her to her own devices. She listened to him as he walked up to his chit and grabbed her roughly around the waist, making her giggle. "James!" she cried. Lily glared at her book, ducking behind it and reading to ignore them. '"What a silly thing Love is," said the Student as he walked away. "It is not half as useful as Logic, for it does not prove anything, and it is always telling one of things that are not going to happen, and making one believe things that are not true. In fact, it is quite unpractical...' 1:The Nightengale and the Rose, Oscar Wilide. A PICTURE OF MY LILY: http:///entry/3914710 |
